@@AntiSocialPlanet I don't think idols get paid per hour, it's most likely an agreed percentage of the earnings where they can sometimes earn way way more than the average worker but they also don't have the predictable stability of a fixed wage. Unlike the early years of kpop, idols get treated more fairly now, although I assume there must still be some degree of Lion's share involved.

Every company is different, but JYP doesn’t charge training fees idols get I believe 30% of the profit from tours and such inside of Korea and 70% of profit from every outside of Korea. And that was before they signed a new, certainly better, contract. So the Twice girls definitely have earned millions of dollars. But it’s always nice to be handed an actual pay envelope even if it’s far less than is normally deposited into your bank account.
