I honestly have to wonder if the writers of this game interviewed psychologist and war veterans to get an idea on how to portray PTSD in all it's manifestations. Because that sight of Dorothy repeatedly pulling the trigger on herself is gonna haunt my dreams.
Considered in Korea there's compulsory military service for all male citizens above 18, many of them may have heard about it during the time they spent in the barracks.
@@stuckerfan2563 Just so you know the Ark AI is responsible for sending out Nikke to feed rapture and in turn empowering them so that they wouldn't invade the Ark. It's later explain in the story why we are searching for the missing Nikke squad at the start of the game. You could also said that Anis and Rapi are next on the menu as well as Marian. They live because we as player had to survive that they are save, well except for Marian. And Any Nikke squad with their commander send out to look for the missing Nikke squad would suppose to died with their squad while looking for the missing Nikke. The Ark AI has been doing this for a long time in exchange for them not invading the Ark. They would have been able to power through the invasion if only they would just allow the goddess squad inside the Ark and because of their decision they have to live in constant fear of the rapture. It's sick to think about it because any Nikke is just as innocent as the people of the Ark and yet they were sent out there to died and to become food for rapture. Edit: It's even more sick when those Nikke are given the idea that they are the hope of Humanity only to be realize as food to the rapture.

Snow White, Scarlet and Rapunzel will be our number 1 enemy what good it will do if we "destroy" the ark. @@GetdonkedOn Yes those in power has too much power but they just damn the innocent to even more suffering when they decide to feed Nikke to the rapture instead of helping retaking the surface and maybe build around it more because they can only do so much. They're not gonna have enough supplies to support a growing population. The innocent are too reliant on those who's had power in the Ark that they will automatically support them.
A little fun fact. Nike, the goddess of victory, was a winged-goddess before the Athenians clipped her wings to prevent her from flying away or "freedom". This is the same as the Nikkes with their NIMPH, they are bound forever to obey humanity, removing their freedom. Dorothy here who considered her and the squad as the goddess of victory, with Pinne as her wings, got her "wings" clipped by the death of Pinne. But unlike the wingless goddess Nike, Dorothy swore to take over the Ark, to get what she deserved right from the start. I swear, this event is a masterpiece, and it's fully voiced with the outpost changing depending on which part of the story you are from lots of Nikke walking around in 1-1 to just 5 at 1-6, to just 4 with a ghost Pinne walking around at 1-12, and now, just Dorothy, all alone.
In her bond story she still so empty and broken to the point that make me feel somewhat broken as well. She lost everything and all we can do is say "thank you" some thing she should have received a long time ago by humanity but now only 1 human stand in front of her to say it "Thank you Dorothy, you save our lives".
I just realized that in chapter 21 the enherit is fully under the commander influence, including Dorothy. Dorothy stays in eden, the rest moved to outpost.
The line "Give my wings back" hit me hard, Pinne made Dorothy feel like everything is possible , she feel like she can fly high and face any challenge, but now its gone....
The story of this event is amazing. And it’s incredibly sad to me. No game, movie or anime has ever managed to make me cry a little or even shed a tear until I played this game. The way nikke’s are treated… well it honestly just hurts to watch

After which at the beginning, the Commander doesn't mind Dorothy hating humanity as long as she doesn't hatr him. Then, at the end, the Commander implies that deep down, she still cares for humanity, to which it's somewhat true after he departs from Eden. My guess is she's barely scratching the whole "not all humans are scumbag afterall" but is still far from there. Leaving that aside, I'd say as long as Nikkephobes still exist, Dorothy will still have grounds for her to hate on humanity but only the story will tell if any side will change for the better.
We still have Overzone 2, so we may know how she founded Eden. And what her endgame is asking Papillon to bring her to the Ark, and then play the role of "savior".
It's really clear that something is in the making. It's really depressing that if she had one bullet she could self terminate herself after. There are many things that are still unsolved and the world of nikke shows how depressing it got. Btw the link to discord might not be working
For me beyond giving more insight to the story of the Pioneer/Goddess squad, I think it also has implications for the Heratics. What kept the squad going was not only their sheer strength, but also their faith/commitment to the mission. Meaning perhaps the origins of some Heratics are not because of corruption, like with Marian/Modernia, but disillusionment with the mission, ie realizing they will not be making it on to the ark, were being left for dead, or simply meant to be cannon fodder to slow the raptures. This distaste for the ark can be seen with present Dorothy, but also Nihilister, but expanded towards humanity. This distaste is however explainable since, following this theory, she, and her squad could have realized their positions, and without a moderating influence, she choose to side with the Raptures. This theory is still really rough IMO, and driven by my "admiration" of Nihilister, and interest in her motives.
Well,most human will the same as Dorothy..losing someone that hold your guts to last but ended up being your own to kill them on their will to others survive. Once machine and human combine, it is always easy to being corrupted since. Unless it's human in total bone and flesh, i guess that might suggest where the Queen wants them.. I for one have always enjoyed games that have very deep psychological trauma in them, it can make us feel relatable or in a way understanding as to why they such actions. (this might be long) I for one, my very first gacha game or any game that made me cry is arknights, especially chapter 6. Arknights world, Terra, is truly a terrible place, disasters can happen anytime, theres also originium which can turn people into infected where parts of their body or internals become crystalized, and once they die they become dust and those dust can infect more people. There are happy moments but not all last, and once someone is infected they are treated like trash or worse and its a permanent thing, sure you can reduce it by taking meds made by Rhodes island but its only a temporary. NIKKE is a game that i recently played, and this event is really amazing and really bring me to tears , the story and the whole psychological aspect is just sad and people in the real world could have experience such pain, sadness and the emotions of being broken. Dorothy losing Pinne then become broken, its like when you have a friend you cherish very much passed away before you both become old together, it can fuck your mind up to the point you just feel empty and do nothing. Ark world is basically a sugarcoat world, under those happy things there will always be skeletons hiding. She still loves humans, and she wished that they answer/love her back but in the end, she was betrayed, lost, and broken.
I’ve found so interesting how this game lures you with the visuals ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) but finds a way sucker punch you in the guts with the story. You just need to follow the white rabbit and when you least expect it, BAM! You’re crying like a little baby. I’m staying for the story and I don’t regret anything.
Just finished the Overstone story. The scene that Snow White, Rapunzel and Scarlet arrived to.....man. Some good writing right there and the art work and voice acting adds to a well crafted albeit depressing story.

The more i learn about Dorothy the more i love her. As a person who's lost family close to me, i can understand her pain, even if only a small part of it. Her lore is a tragedy
and as I predicted since Counters and Snow White killed Chatterbox, the deal with Enikk was canceled and it was only a matter of time before they attacked the ark and although Enikk did unforgivable acts such as corrupting Marian, she was partly right, seeing how devastated the ark was. ark. I wonder how those of the ark will defend themselves from future attacks Eden, although it suffered constant attacks from Nihilister, did not suffer notable damage compared to the ark because Eden's technology is ten times superior to the ark and with more advanced weapons and better trained members and authentic veterans like Johan and Dorothy and it seems that at some point Enikk or the commander will have to reveal the deal that the AI made. Seeing how Anis hit Snow White for not killing chatterbox fast, imagine what she will try to do to Enikk because of Marian
I started at the tail end of the Dazzling Cupid event, and one of my first rolls gave me Dorothy. Now mid ch19, almost through the 200 wall, and she remains my favorite character. Ended up doing Over Zone right after finishing Red Ash thanks to my friends' recommendations. Her bond stories made sense after that, and only cemented her as the best.
it's kinda ironic, Dorothy, who is half human, half machine, because she is a nikke... well... not only her, but all goddess squad (counting Pinne, even if she technically isn't), they... are just much more human than the humans in ark itself, while ark became much more mechanic, doing what's best to survival and not caring about emotions and lifes, you can see very well all of Dorothy's emotions, all her suffering and how her hope was robbed from her...
I finished it thanks to the archives, i started the game because of the NieR collab and found it amazing but Over-Zone was something that moved me to the core.. even if I’m a NieR rat 😅 the writers, artists and voice actresses made an excellent job I feel empty now thanks 😊

Thanks to the new funktion, i was finnaly able to play the event and man....i am in shambles.... Today i was also able to end chapter 20 and i was shocked how Dorothy acted and tried to trick/kill the commander and using him as bait. Now after i know her past....i can understand....she suffered so so much. I am rly interested in the story and whats happening with her, her revenge is not over, or has not even started yet. I started playing this game bcs i had night-shift on a different position with much less work so instead of 8h boredom, i tried out some games. Remembered some vids and artworks from nikke and just gave it a try, lokking at some anime waifus would defenetly get rid of boredome for a while i thought... well yeah its nice to look at that well designed "assets" but now i am sitting here with teary eyes looking at the black&white Dorothy who is trying to end it all..... well done devs and story writers, this shit deserves an animeseries

i can see why the ark officials may of made this decision. such as not having elevators constructed and stability in the ark being a major issue with all the new refugees, they shut themselves from the outside world and needed a scapegoat who can hold out till the end...

My Wild Theory. I get the Feeling Nikke is Just Like Mass Effect on the Earth Scale. Ark is Citadel. At One Point. The Ark Got Corrupted by Rapture, It Actually Huge Giant Traps for Rapture's Food. Enikk Knew This and at one point, Make A deal with Chatterbox by doing Recycle of Life. Sending Nikke just for Dying, for their resources. To keep The Ark-Rapture keep Silence. . To make It less Suspicious It let their own kind "K1ll" Each others I mean Chapter 21-22 it let the autonomous Rapture Destroy part of the Ark-Rapture. . The good Thing is, Rapture At this point doesn't have Indoctrination ability like the ME. Reaper. If they have that, well sheyt, means that Ark very slowly indoctrinated The Ark Inhabitant.

Thanks for the support, I love the lore of this game! Interestingly enough, I did have a theory video on my channel that somewhat follows that request. It's titled "Betrayed by the Ark." this was before the Nihilister bond story, but it was our shot in the dark about who the queen truly is!
This is the moment when Dorothy takes a page out of Solo Wing Pixy's book and goes, "This twisted game needs to be reset. We'll start over from 'Zero' with this V2 and trust the future to the next generation."
Opinion: Time for these raptures to become infected with their own plague that gives them painful emotions (similar outcome is giving emotions to a cyberman…a system failure followed by an explosion)
The commander and dorothy share a common thread one dorothy lost her friends her legendary commander and now red hood and became twisted and obsessed with revenge on the arc that betrayed them and other our main character the commander a run of the mill rookie straight out the military and fate dealt a blow where he met Marian, rapi and anis and expeinceing Marian corruption and shooting her traumatized him and his good nature and will from his flashback talking to a girl from his childhood swore to protect nikkes and their rights to be free from servitude also experiencing the cruel world both from the surface and the ark while rising through the ranks to help the nikkes in need setting up a conflict between the commander and dorothy down the line.
If destroy the Ark, you destroy Humanity as well; leaving the Raptures to continue roaming the Earth, so ask yourself this...which side are you on? Revenge? Or Freedom?
_Preserve the Status Quo._ Changing things too fast in the Ark could make things much more violent. It needs a slow change and hopefully we get the right people in it so far from the likes of our Boss, Ingrid and Mustang... But man Nikke's Ark really is a prime example of Fragile State

You can actually play it if you have a Memory flicker (That orange Item that can be obtained in recent events) You need to go in command center and open the recollection screen You can only view certain content of it like story 1, story 2 (If the event has one). I also recommend playing the hard mode of these events in the archive, because at the final stage of hard modes there is a final scene that closes the event's story.

As soon as I heard corrupted Pina talking my heart immediately ached, even after all these months. It was certainly a hell of a event, and it wasn't until I got to the story where Dorothy showed up that a lot more stuff suddenly made so much more sense.
Really bullshit for Oswald to tell red hood how he salutes and praised the goddess squad but later on. He and the other higher ups threw em away like trash once they sealed the gates. Even worse. Decades later theg start allowing soldiers to go up to the surface
After Red Ash Event, and know that Oswald was actually a Big Fans of Goddess Squad, there is a theory, that maybe, Oswald really didn't want Goddess Squad going into the Ark, because Central Government Agency had a really bad plan for them. And knowing that in New Year New Sword, how Central Government Agency wanted all of Scarlet's Squad to die (and only the Strongest will survive), I think the theory is not too far from reality. That's how f*cked up Central Government Agency was, and is; They really view NIKKE as nothing more than a weapon, and when that weapon been considered becomes a threat, they don't hesitate to dispose those NIKKE. Plus, we don't know what happened to Lilith & Legendary Commander (Ok, we now know that he is indeed Andersen) when both of them been called for the last time in the ending of Red Ash Event (We know Lilith is dead, but how and by who, that's what we still don't know yet).
If I'm not mistaken, those 3 Months (3, not 2 Months) is not for the building of The Ark. Ark already been built years before, from when the humanity decided to run away from the surface to the underground. Those 3 Months is for the closing of the Ark Gate. They must hold all of Raptures attack for the whole 3 Months, until Ark Gate can be closed. And for that, I think 3 Months is understandable. To be honest, I'm surprised you think the creation of Ark only need 3 Months 😅
I'm trying to follow the story but it's literally incomprehensible why the fuck the ARK didn't let them get back in, like, it literally costs them nothing and doing otherwise is a gateway to get humanity's most powerful weapon turned against them
With the recent Event; Red Ash... Now we know that Oswald, the person who close the Ark Door and left Goddess Squad in the Surface, was actually a really Big Fans of Goddess Squad (He even called himself as "Goddess Squad Fanboy"). We don't know why he did it (Closing Ark Gates for Goddess Squad), but the theory is that he was been pushed to do it. So yeah, The Central Government is really f*ck up, to sent a person who idolized Goddess Squad, to did that. At Chapter 23, Dorothy asked Poli about Goddess Statue in the Ark. And Poli told the story of someone, who spreading the Gospel about Goddess Squad to the people at Ark. Too bad that the person is no longer exist. I guess that the person is no other than Oswald. No matter that The Central Government wanted to hide about Goddess Squad, he will fulfill his promised to spreading Goddess Squad achievement.

After which at the beginning, the Commander doesn't mind Dorothy hating humanity as long as she doesn't hatr him. Then, at the end, the Commander implies that deep down, she still cares for humanity, to which it's somewhat true after he departs from Eden. My guess is she's barely scratching the whole "not all humans are scumbag afterall" but is still far from there.
Leaving that aside, I'd say as long as Nikkephobes still exist, Dorothy will still have grounds for her to hate on humanity but only the story will tell if any side will change for the better.
Red Ash and OverZone are the reason why Nikke needs an anime
We still have Overzone 2, so we may know how she founded Eden. And what her endgame is asking Papillon to bring her to the Ark, and then play the role of "savior".

For me beyond giving more insight to the story of the Pioneer/Goddess squad, I think it also has implications for the Heratics. What kept the squad going was not only their sheer strength, but also their faith/commitment to the mission. Meaning perhaps the origins of some Heratics are not because of corruption, like with Marian/Modernia, but disillusionment with the mission, ie realizing they will not be making it on to the ark, were being left for dead, or simply meant to be cannon fodder to slow the raptures. This distaste for the ark can be seen with present Dorothy, but also Nihilister, but expanded towards humanity. This distaste is however explainable since, following this theory, she, and her squad could have realized their positions, and without a moderating influence, she choose to side with the Raptures. This theory is still really rough IMO, and driven by my "admiration" of Nihilister, and interest in her motives.
Well,most human will the same as Dorothy..losing someone that hold your guts to last but ended up being your own to kill them on their will to others survive. Once machine and human combine, it is always easy to being corrupted since. Unless it's human in total bone and flesh, i guess that might suggest where the Queen wants them..

I for one have always enjoyed games that have very deep psychological trauma in them, it can make us feel relatable or in a way understanding as to why they such actions. (this might be long)
I for one, my very first gacha game or any game that made me cry is arknights, especially chapter 6. Arknights world, Terra, is truly a terrible place, disasters can happen anytime, theres also originium which can turn people into infected where parts of their body or internals become crystalized, and once they die they become dust and those dust can infect more people. There are happy moments but not all last, and once someone is infected they are treated like trash or worse and its a permanent thing, sure you can reduce it by taking meds made by Rhodes island but its only a temporary.
NIKKE is a game that i recently played, and this event is really amazing and really bring me to tears , the story and the whole psychological aspect is just sad and people in the real world could have experience such pain, sadness and the emotions of being broken. Dorothy losing Pinne then become broken, its like when you have a friend you cherish very much passed away before you both become old together, it can fuck your mind up to the point you just feel empty and do nothing. Ark world is basically a sugarcoat world, under those happy things there will always be skeletons hiding.
She still loves humans, and she wished that they answer/love her back but in the end, she was betrayed, lost, and broken.

I started at the tail end of the Dazzling Cupid event, and one of my first rolls gave me Dorothy. Now mid ch19, almost through the 200 wall, and she remains my favorite character. Ended up doing Over Zone right after finishing Red Ash thanks to my friends' recommendations. Her bond stories made sense after that, and only cemented her as the best.

it's kinda ironic, Dorothy, who is half human, half machine, because she is a nikke... well... not only her, but all goddess squad (counting Pinne, even if she technically isn't), they... are just much more human than the humans in ark itself, while ark became much more mechanic, doing what's best to survival and not caring about emotions and lifes, you can see very well all of Dorothy's emotions, all her suffering and how her hope was robbed from her...
I finished it thanks to the archives, i started the game because of the NieR collab and found it amazing but Over-Zone was something that moved me to the core.. even if I’m a NieR rat 😅 the writers, artists and voice actresses made an excellent job

Today i was also able to end chapter 20 and i was shocked how Dorothy acted and tried to trick/kill the commander and using him as bait. Now after i know her past....i can understand....she suffered so so much. I am rly interested in the story and whats happening with her, her revenge is not over, or has not even started yet.
I started playing this game bcs i had night-shift on a different position with much less work so instead of 8h boredom, i tried out some games. Remembered some vids and artworks from nikke and just gave it a try, lokking at some anime waifus would defenetly get rid of boredome for a while i thought... well yeah its nice to look at that well designed "assets" but now i am sitting here with teary eyes looking at the black&white Dorothy who is trying to end it all..... well done devs and story writers, this shit deserves an animeseries

I get the Feeling Nikke is Just Like Mass Effect on the Earth Scale. Ark is Citadel. At One Point. The Ark Got Corrupted by Rapture, It Actually Huge Giant Traps for Rapture's Food. Enikk Knew This and at one point, Make A deal with Chatterbox by doing Recycle of Life. Sending Nikke just for Dying, for their resources. To keep The Ark-Rapture keep Silence.

So if Dorothy was there when nihilister brought it up wouldn't that make something click in her head about Lilith's body. Apparently it's something of great importance to the queen and now that Dorothy have that information what will come next. Got any ideas?

The commander and dorothy share a common thread one dorothy lost her friends her legendary commander and now red hood and became twisted and obsessed with revenge on the arc that betrayed them and other our main character the commander a run of the mill rookie straight out the military and fate dealt a blow where he met Marian, rapi and anis and expeinceing Marian corruption and shooting her traumatized him and his good nature and will from his flashback talking to a girl from his childhood swore to protect nikkes and their rights to be free from servitude also experiencing the cruel world both from the surface and the ark while rising through the ranks to help the nikkes in need setting up a conflict between the commander and dorothy down the line.
Nikke's world seriously need optimus prime in their world.

HUmanity got complacent. Look at Chapter 18 and how most of the civvies get uppity when a NIkke isnt dying to the Raptures. In fact all of them like to forget that most Nikke's arent robots but former humans conscripted into becoming Nikkes, willingly or not. Its abhorent and places a real reason why there are times where we should let it crumble. Ark's destruction wont mean humanity will completely die.

You need to go in command center and open the recollection screen
You can only view certain content of it like story 1, story 2 (If the event has one). I also recommend playing the hard mode of these events in the archive, because at the final stage of hard modes there is a final scene that closes the event's story.

As soon as I heard corrupted Pina talking my heart immediately ached, even after all these months. It was certainly a hell of a event, and it wasn't until I got to the story where Dorothy showed up that a lot more stuff suddenly made so much more sense.
Really bullshit for Oswald to tell red hood how he salutes and praised the goddess squad but later on. He and the other higher ups threw em away like trash once they sealed the gates. Even worse. Decades later theg start allowing soldiers to go up to the surface

After Red Ash Event, and know that Oswald was actually a Big Fans of Goddess Squad, there is a theory, that maybe, Oswald really didn't want Goddess Squad going into the Ark, because Central Government Agency had a really bad plan for them. And knowing that in New Year New Sword, how Central Government Agency wanted all of Scarlet's Squad to die (and only the Strongest will survive), I think the theory is not too far from reality. That's how f*cked up Central Government Agency was, and is; They really view NIKKE as nothing more than a weapon, and when that weapon been considered becomes a threat, they don't hesitate to dispose those NIKKE.
Plus, we don't know what happened to Lilith & Legendary Commander (Ok, we now know that he is indeed Andersen) when both of them been called for the last time in the ending of Red Ash Event (We know Lilith is dead, but how and by who, that's what we still don't know yet).

If I'm not mistaken, those 3 Months (3, not 2 Months) is not for the building of The Ark. Ark already been built years before, from when the humanity decided to run away from the surface to the underground. Those 3 Months is for the closing of the Ark Gate. They must hold all of Raptures attack for the whole 3 Months, until Ark Gate can be closed. And for that, I think 3 Months is understandable.
To be honest, I'm surprised you think the creation of Ark only need 3 Months 😅
I'm trying to follow the story but it's literally incomprehensible why the fuck the ARK didn't let them get back in, like, it literally costs them nothing and doing otherwise is a gateway to get humanity's most powerful weapon turned against them
With the recent Event; Red Ash... Now we know that Oswald, the person who close the Ark Door and left Goddess Squad in the Surface, was actually a really Big Fans of Goddess Squad (He even called himself as "Goddess Squad Fanboy"). We don't know why he did it (Closing Ark Gates for Goddess Squad), but the theory is that he was been pushed to do it. So yeah, The Central Government is really f*ck up, to sent a person who idolized Goddess Squad, to did that.
At Chapter 23, Dorothy asked Poli about Goddess Statue in the Ark. And Poli told the story of someone, who spreading the Gospel about Goddess Squad to the people at Ark. Too bad that the person is no longer exist. I guess that the person is no other than Oswald. No matter that The Central Government wanted to hide about Goddess Squad, he will fulfill his promised to spreading Goddess Squad achievement.
