Do you have any information on the policies regarding recreation drone flying over the locks? We have not been able to find any official information regarding any restrictions on recreational drone use over the locks.

Recreational drones are not allowed near the locks or bridge on either the US or Canadian side... It is considered federal restricted airspace

@@DreDesignsGLMP Thank you for your response. We have never been able to find any documentation on that. Only that the airspace above the coast guard station and the police station are restricted air space.

@@Cleo_and_Mark If you speak to the US Army Corps of Engineers they will tell you otherwise... No recreational drones are allowed anywhere near the Bridge or Locks... I serve as a Board member for the Soo Locks Visitors Center Association with the Chief Park Ranger of the US Army Corps... Homeland Security will tell you it's a BIG no no to fly in the vicinity

@@DreDesignsGLMP Again, thank you for the response. How far does 'the vicinity' cover? I know people fly drones out of Rotary Park. Normally restricted airspace shows on the FAA's B4UFLY app, and on the othe apps drone pilots use to check airspace, as well as on FAA Sectional maps. But nothing appears on any of those for the Locks area, nor for the bridge. I am not sure how the Corp would go about getting that updated but it would be good to try. Recreational drones aren't going away and a lot of people aren't going to be asking, but just going by publically available information.
