Yes things need maintenance I pay full rent and my place has issues and my landlord will fix it but not on my time. You have to be responsible and report stuff and then know that it will get fixed just not always when you want it. No place is perfect. When you get your own home you will be responsible for paying and taking care of stuff. Even in my rental I will fix little things because it is quicker then reporting it.
