Wonderful video; I absolutely love 395 and Lone Pine. Always stop at the bakery in Bishop! The arch is cool; I think you got another peak in the arch that appears taller. Mt. Whitney is to the right next to two pointy peaks!
B E A U TI F U L L !!!!! in 2019 we where at Lone Pine and loved it. its so unrealistic to see a hot desert on one side and snowy mountains on the other side of the road.
Amazing video of your road trip. I live in Oregon and always take highway 395 when I travel down to visit family in southern California. The scenery is breathtaking for sure!!
Thx. Needed some visual to remember where I camped on my trip N>S along 395 years ago (Reno to Vegas, via DeathValley). Great scenic highway... And Lone Pine Campground to Whitney Portal is a helluva day-hike ;) I forgot about Alabama Hills till now. Fun times.
Bridgeport is a cool town to check out too you passed through on 395 just north of mono lake about 30 min they have a great little museum and a great town to work out of for trout fishing also just before Bridgeport is Bodie ghost town is really interesting too .. 395 is full of historic and outdoor sport things to do
Awesome and inspiring road trip! Have you ever gone to Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest too? It's so weird you got inches of snow in mid May! You really know how to make amazing shots, so cool!
Mt. Whitney rises only about 6,000 feet above the valley floor. The valley itself is 8,000 feet above sea level. imagine Mt. Whitney if the valley floor was near sea level.

That's so awesome... I drove through 395 last week .. I wanted to stop at the film museum but was in a hurry to get to mono city

Song @4:15?
I was wondering the same thing. Did you find it?
Usually if you go to You Tube search and type in some of the lyrics , it should come up.
Long road.
