Good commentary. The opposite is also true. We should see these character traits in our own lives if we are following Jesus. If we do not, we should examine our walk. These traits should be present in all of our deeds and communications. I remember losing my temper with a man and after just being completely ashamed... Not because I was wrong but because it didn't reflect the character of a man that loves God.

Viewing the fruit as God's nature is good for sure, but that is not Paul's message in Galatians. I think you are on the right track @nathanshearer30 in that Christians must manifest this fruit. There is a real danger if we simply view the fruit as the nature of God. I think there are all too many who think one is in compliance with Paul's teaching if we simply see it as a lesson in God's nature. Far from it. Christians are in compliance only if others see the fruit manifested in Christians.
