You should probably keep the water wheel dry when you're not specifically using it to keep it from rotting as well. As you are probably familiar with, stuff in the tropics rots very fast. It might be a good idea to be more careful what you keep wet, it would be a real shame to see a lot of your hard work rot away. Of course a water pipe has to be wet and isn't quite as big of a deal to replace as the other stuff, but it would be a good idea to be more careful with things like the water wheel.

Bro, you need a valve system that diverts the flow of water into the pool, bypassing the water wheel, and does not create such a noise of falling water. And, of course, a forge driven by a water wheel!
Been waiting for you back in action for a new idea how to live and survive in the jungle. I have been watching all your videos. You have all the amazing ideas that's reminded me when I was back home.
This is my favourite channel! Have you though about making the uprights for the waterwheel out of concrete too? And what about concrete aqueducts instead of bamboo to move the water? That would be cool.
He is fortunate that he lives in a warm climate. It will mean a lot of the concrete finishing work done in cold climates to prevent scaling caused by freezing will not be needed. Most importantly it means he doesn’t have to build foundations below a frost line. That saves a lot work! I am in no way implying any criticism of the work he does. I am just commenting on one of the conditions that allow for how much construction work gets done on his farm. I do doubt that he does all of this work on his own. The wall around the pond is my biggest source of that doubt. But I don’t really care if he does or doesn’t do all the work. It is good showcase of how much and what kind of work it would take to live in a village of this nature. Good videos! Keep them coming!

Wow! Amazing job with your pond. Simple amazing. So, the topography puts you on to bodies of water, where your runoff comes from mountain stream & your between it & a valley floor. Your water is piped in 1 area & culvert drained on the other end into a river. Perfect water location. Water being the number 1 resource in the world. Beautiful place you have built thus far, my friend.

well done centuries of progress in just 2 years ...I wonder do you ever intend to mechanize the water wheel for Grain grinding or lathe...So much anticipation for that process could perhaps even refine rocks for steel production so many options...The pond will last for a century or more now so fish production for sure Mussels and cray fish...even trout maybe?Your possibilities are endless! perhaps even some rice growth areas near the lake at the foot of the garden...the irrigation is there and filtration through the rice paddy pondage while water still supplies the pond...buckets of flour

Vous avez déjà changé plusieurs fois le pantalon ,pourquoi n’avez vous pas faite de même avec le reste de votre costume ? The performance of the water wheel has improved quite a bit. Even after he upgraded the water supply it still seemed to have difficulty generating significant torque. I wonder if he made any changes to it or if it's just because the shaft and bearings have now worn in.

Indeed, he shows the process. From there on I don’t really care how things are done, because he has already demonstrated that it can be.

coatings like melted beewax can protect wood from rotting, it would be recommended for the ceiling beams inside your house
And for that water wheel too as wood also becomes heavier once it absorbs water, and remaking it again if it rots will probably take a lot of time...
