I was researching leather bracers for my wife and came across this video, and it was/is one of the best videos I’ve watched probably in 5 years. The 3 different forms of artistry coming together to present this trade was fantastic. The artistry of leather smithing, artistic design of the etching, and then to so tastefully capture it on camera in such a pleasing calm format. It’s all amazing. Thank you for sharing. It also reminded me of watching my Mother repair horse saddles.
Pretty cool! I never had luck with those types of rivets. I recently switched to the copper rivet and burr style; they never fail. I need to make my son an archery arm guard. He just took up traditional archery. I'm just browsing for some ideas. Nice job on the carving. Thanks for sharing. :)
It’s cool that you don’t wear gloves while dying. I don’t worry about getting chemicals on my hands either. Best leather craft video I’ve ever seen! Gonna make this armgaurd, thanks for the inspiration!
Great work! I love watching your videos, they're very relaxing and I love the way you showcase that rustic is beautiful. I also love the way you present your finished product at the end of the video. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely gorgeous. I am very new to leatherwork, but have been an archer for years, and wanted to bring the two together. This is inspiring. Thank you.
By far the coolest leather working video tutorial I’ve watched on RUclips yet! Thank you so much for sharing this! Everything is perfect in your video, your workspace, your talent, the music, your slippers, the pace of your steps, and your presentation. So very helpful!
@@FoxesandRavens Yep I totally understand it's the little things that matter and made life for comfortable . At 77 now and still hunting theirs another thing that made a big deference hunting in brush area's and quick strap release on your guard to clear out sticks and twigs and sort of junk that can make you measurable . Happy trails you 2.
Gotcha! Yes, it's actually antler, with designs from the Viking period, that a friend made for me for Viking reenactment :) It's not a typical design from that period, most other models that I've seen have a piece of cloth inside, and are open on both ends, but I like mine!
I try to avoid projects involving soft/clothing grade leather, especially with tricky sewing, but I may try making some leather rings for the string hand (my fingers were hurting after the last time we practiced, haha!)

Thank you so much David! I’m really inspired by channels like Northmen and Liziqi. Rustic beauty is spot on!
Looking for ideas for making my own archery bracer. I really like this, nicely done.

Nice touch with the breather holes. Happy trails
My husband didnt think we needed them at first, but he changed his tune after using a prototype without them, haha

Nice video ,
thank you!
And what does the inscription say??
What is the dye color that you’re using and what is the finishing balm you’re using? Thank you!
I use EcoFlo dyes from the Tandy, and a home made leather balm, which is also available in my shop!
Can you tell us more about the needle holder you have in this video?
I'm not 100% sure which thing you're referring to. Can you give me a time code?
@@FoxesandRavens it’s the thing you keep your needles in. After some research it seems like a Viking or Celtic bone needle holder.(time code 7:01)

Increíble trabajo, por desgracia el sistema de correas es poco o nada practico para la arquería y se prefiere el cierre con cordón :(
Great vid. Subbed.
Thank you so much!
Nailed it, Nora - wonderful work! Great video. Do you have a tab for the fingers of the string-drawing hand?

You are as beautiful as your name.
