sure on its own way it will happen to all. some will know them, some wont. now the younger generations biggest artists like bts and bp will have a bigger chance to be remembered bc they have (some more some less) established some level of success in the western mainstream as well, so they stand a better chance to be remembered by general public. ofc people interested in kpop will know these people more, just like im sure younger kpop fans will discover the previous generations. i only very selectively follow some kpop idols and less and less every day, and can say that suzy is not one i know, ive heard of her but i wouldnt be able to place her to this and this song and group just from the top of my head. its the same way many super kpop fans couldnt point out western super popular people bc they dont follow it. so i personally dont find it hard to believe that some people dont know her. if they are hard core kpop fans, then it would be weird.

Like iu and Suzy are the same thing both are hella popular in Korea like massively but I don’t think a lot of people know of them internationally since they don’t really promote themselves outside and their songs are both now very solo and lyrics theme unlike BlackPink where it’s a American song with a lot of beat drops. I can say tho they are getting kind of popular now and it’s not because of their songs but because they act in kdrama and hotel del Luna and vagabond are really popular here.
