Biden looks like such a coward. He is losing his opportunity for re-election and setting himself up for being blamed for the costs of funding a cause that he now whimpers around in. Strongly agree. I am a hardline conservative who cannot stand Biden. But I am threatening not just to stay home but actually to vote for him because even his tepid posture in Ukraine (and Israel) is vastly better than what Trump will do. On EVERY other issue, I would much prefer Trump. But nothing else is as important as toughness in Ukraine and Israel.

I think most organizations should enact a new rule that allows individual members to be kicked out, at a 100% vote of the remainder, upon a finding that the ostracized member is not in alignment with the organizations purpose. Should be written up in Robert's Rule of Order, as a model.

Russia is upping glide bombs production, which have proven dreadfully effective in the theatre of war. The west must find a solution to this problem coz their use is set only to rise. With the glide bombs getting more and more powerful, not finding a solution may prove fatal for Ukrainians.

The West should have firmly told Russia in the beginning that they would not attack Russia but defend Ukraine with all its might. They did not. Nato got stronger with the addition of Sweden and Finland and doubled the length of border with Russia and strengthened alliance in the Arctic against Russia and China. Plus Russian oil and gas to Europe got replaced by the USA exports and Russia is getting weakened in every aspect, It looks like the West is already a winner at the expense of Ukrainian blood. Good stuff. I must say this podcast has massively improved my perception of the Torygraph, which for the last five years or so has been based on manually saving copies of all the newspaper front pages (Yes I am a news and current affairs nerd DON'T JUDGE ME!! ;) ) ... those Tg front pages gave me the strong impression its nothing but bulgy-eyed culture warrior alt-right trash. Assuming there's room inside for the written equivalent of this content - ie pretty reliable well sourced reporting, plus informed / authoritative analysis and commentary -- well, that'd be great. If only the editors would make a bit of room for it on the front page, rather than the headbanging columnist and post-truth "news" reporting, I would even consider buying it again. (I don't mind reading opinion I disagree with, as long as its 1. kept well away from news reporting, and 2. Covers some sort of spectrum, so I don't disagree with *all* of it. Indeed well argued, reality based stuff I disagree with is great, I actually like having my opinions & assumptions tested. Maybe I've been born on the wrong planet...). I'm a Grauniad subscriber, and I skip right past all but three of their regular opinion / columnist types... and one of those I read is Barney Ronay, the football correspondent!)

An honest examination on the attitude of the vast majority of Crimeans towards Kiev & Russia would be helpful. Inconvenient, but instructive.
Unfortunately, that's Impossible. There are documented examples of rigged elections in Putin's Russia, so any referendum he runs is worthless.
There were elections before Putin's invasion of Crimea, where the biggest parties were ones that wanted to remain in Ukraine. But that was back before 2014.
There are other problems too. In 1783, the vast majority of Crimeans were Crimean Tartars, but in the following 160 years the Russian Empire and the Soviets deported the vast majority of Crimean Tartars. Many died in exile.
If was only in the days of Gorbachev that Tartars were allowed to return. By 2004, Crimean Tatars were 12 per cent of Crimea. According to Human Rights Watch, persecution of Crimean Tatars has increased since Putin's illegal invasion of Crimea in 2014.
We can't reverse the Crimean Tatar genocide, but we can refuse to accept Putin's illegal imperialism, which reinforces that crime.

The Russian Aerospace Forces launched a strike with a hypersonic Kinzhal missile at the Yavorovsky training ground in western Ukraine. At least 300 people were killed, including personnel from NATO countries. It is noted that the evacuation of the wounded is actively underway in Poland.
Since the start of the war, this training ground has been a hub for large troop movements for extensive deployment and training several times since it is so close to the Polish border, and each time the Russian army launched surprise attacks on it.

Interesting dilemma re Hungary , why is it not possible to get each EU country , each NATO country make an individual contribution that makes the totals recommended by the collectives? Or is that too simplistic. I think we have to get a little more firmer with Orban as I feel , from the information out there , he is a voice for Putin , Great Podcast by the way.
