Wow. So tragic. They married and 5 years later divorced because an heir wasn't born. I don't need to watch the end of the series.
In real life he continued to support her financially until his death and on what would have been a milestone anniversary for them, if they had stayed married, he sent her a beautiful diamond necklace! She treasured it knowing he still really loved her and duty made him divorce her. She was truly the love of his life! He finally got an heir with his last marriage but he was overthrown in the end!

Titin Kustinah I know because this is a true story and there are many documentaries on it Last year was the 40 th year of the Iranian Revolution and BBC had a documentary with the real events The Shah and his family left Iran in 1979 In 1958 he divorced Soraya as she was unable to have children because of a riding accident in her childhood which hadn’t been noticed at the time Princess Soraya was heart broken and went off to Paris and tried to become an actress but failed rather miserably She died in 2001 and her brother died not much later . The Shah married Farah Diba in December 1959
This movie ends with the divorce or Soraya and her leaving Iran She never returned

This movie is different from the other movies that I watch I wish that I could watch a longer version

and then he left her, because she couldnt produce him an heir. The character of Soraya in this movie at the beginning of the movie does not seem like someone who would marry shah at all. so it is a totally false character.

This film proves my opinion that Iranian men are gentlemen but the Iranian women are something else from my limited experience with them.

Sue sort of. poor soraya; she gave up her life to marry him, they fell in love, he was kicked off his throne by Mossadeq, the CIA overthrew Mossadeq in 1953, he came back to Iran, his throne, and, because she eventually couldn't conceive, he divorced her. but he continued to love her and support her, while married to Farah, until the Revolution.
she tried to become a movie star, she tried to make her own life, she was constantly courted by gigolos and eventually had to live off selling the amazing Jewelry collection he gave her. poor woman.
