I am the same way with television programs as you are with books. As soon as they are over I forget all about them, and rarely if ever think of them again. If someone is dangling over a cliff or something I can turn it off and not care about the ending. I don’t watch very much television because if I am going to forget I might as well do something else.😁 I love this card and appreciate all of the tiny details! 🥰
Nothing makes me happier than watching your videos. I’m like yourself when it comes to reading. Once the books done it’s done and I can’t remember a thing. 😊
I know I say this with every card, but I think this one is my favorite. It’s stunning! I like every book my Emily Gifin, they are just fun light hearted romantic books.
Another beauty! I am going to try this soon. I also read non-stop and experience the "memory dump" every time. It is rare that I remember a title, even. I will sometimes start a book only to realize I have already read it, but have forgotten. I am much better at remembering children's books. Maybe it is a visual thing where the pictures help me to remember? Thank you for being you!
Beautiful & wonderfully done!! As I’ve shared previously, I don’t have a die cutting machine but I would so buy this one if I did. Offers a lot of avenues for variations of cards & even other crafts such as bookmarks or maybe using parts as an embellished. The stamp is gorgeous! One book I can recommend is s “Holes” by Louis Sachar - while intended for youth / young adults, it’s a really fun story & imbeds another story within. Disney made it into a movie & stayed so true to the book but I strongly recommend reading the book first.
I'm the same way with movies or books. I forget not long after reading or watching. However, there is one book that has stuck with me after all these years. I don't remember the title of the book, but I read it in the 6th grade. It was a book about a girl who had cystic fibrosis. It was about how she dealt with it as a child/teen, and eventually, young adulthood before it took her life. I can't say it's my favorite, but it sure was impactful for me to remember 25 years later.
I rarely remember very much about books after I read them as well. Anything I read, really. I was a newspaper copy editor for decades, and many things went past my eyes on a given day, so maybe it's just a kind of self-defense developed by my brain. My favorite book ever is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams, dry British humor/science fiction. Today's card was lovely. It would be interesting to see a version of the flowers set into a gray or black background. I know you prefer lighter colors, but I love a pretty floral pattern on black.
That is really beautiful! I love that color combination and the dimension. There are so many books that I have read that I love it's hard to pick just one. Two of my favorites are Rebecca and the Harry Potter series.
For your question of the day...my favorite book is Memoirs of a Geisha, which was also made into a movie. Love it!! Read the book after watching the movie. Book is tons better. Second would have to be Where the Crawdads Sing. Another book made into a movie but I read the book before watching the movie. Just like my favorite, the book was better than the movie.
When I was very young my aunt gave me a book that is still my favourite, even though I have never found it in any store for years. It is called, “The Little Lame Prince”. I am currently reading “Spare” also. Very pretty card. 😊Warm regards from 🇨🇦Calgary, Alberta🇨🇦
I’d like to recommend a favorite book for your kiddos. It’s “The Fairy Rebel” by Lynne Reid Banks. There’s an overalls wearing fairy who helps a woman have a baby that almost has blue hair. There’s also an evil fairy queen.
I love the card! I also blank on books, movies and series, but a look at a brief description and voila it’s back! I also enjoyed the Seven Husbands…and I really enjoyed Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. I had come to find it difficult to sit and read since Covid hit. To once again spark that passion, I started a reading (dot) journal. I am happy to say it has helped so much. I so enjoy setting up the monthly pages, and keeping up with the books, the # of pages I read and the days I read. Im back!
What a simply stunning card Bethany, I wish I could find all of the inks you show in the uk but it’s proving difficult. If you had to choose one brand of inks which would be your favourite go to set? My favourite series the The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins. I always craft and listen to audiobooks. It’s my thing. 😊
A few of my favorite series is The Christy Miller series's, The Mark of the Lion series, The Twilight Saga ( I know it's not Christian but the first two are), I also enjoyed the Harry Potter series as an entertaining read. For Christian romance I love those three in one volumes of those little romance books like love in Arkansas or wherever. or Brides of such and such.
I also forget most things after I’ve read a book, but then I’ll remember the most random factoid or scenes. Like, I can’t remember characters’ names (to the point where I’ll be in the middle of the book and see a name and think, “Wait, who is this again?”), but I do remember a funny line or the obscure history fact that popped up. It’s really frustrating when I’m trying to tell someone what the book is about and I just end up with random anecdotes about “that one person who was the younger sibling” instead of a cohesive plot line. But, on the other hand, I really enjoy the experience of rereading, because I’ve forgotten so much! I’ll remember the feeling I got from the book, but not who the murderer was, for instance. It’s almost like getting a book rec from myself that I know I’ll like but still has some novelty (no pun intended). As far as recs go, I’ll give you a wide variety: If you’re in the mood for light fantasy, Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series is one of my favorites. The books are so funny and can be incredibly silly while also being incredibly profound. (The series kind of has different sub-series that focus on different characters, so I’d recommend starting with Guards, Guards.) If you’re feeling mysteries, I thoroughly enjoy the Armand Gamache novels by Louise Penny. Gamache is such a humble, empathetic character while still being a great detective, which is not a combination you often see in mystery novels. Plus, Penny’s writing is very lush and thoughtful. The first one is Still Life. If you like nonfiction, Patrick Radden Keefe writes excellent narrative nonfiction. He has a collection of some of the long-form pieces he wrote for the…New Yorker I want to say. It is an excellent introduction to his style, and I found myself fascinated by subjects that I never would have thought to explore. The collection is called Rogues. And some bonus recs for the kids. If they are younger (maybe 5 to 7) the Princess in Black series by Shannon Hale is a great beginning chapter book with lots of full-color pictures. It’s about a princess who does all the things princesses are “supposed” to do, but she also has a secret identity as the Princess in Black, where she goes out and fights the monsters trying to get into her kingdom. If your kids are a bit older (7-10ish), the Harriet the Hamster books are a hilarious series of fractured fairy tales that have much more text, but plenty of pictures with speech bubbles (kind of graphic novel-style) sprinkled throughout. My nieces love hearing it read to them, and often they will read a specific character’s speech bubbles. It’s a great way to get in some fun reading practice. That’s probably enough from someone who is essentially a stranger to you. But I enjoy watching your videos and feel like a friend from this side! And I love getting and giving book recs. I would love to hear about any books you enjoy based on recs from this video’s comments.
This turned out so so well. I am very much inspired to play around with this craft. As for today’s question - hummm - that’s a tough one - but anything by Barbara Bradford Taylor immediately gets my attention as well as: Danielle Steele, Toni Morrison or even Shakespeare too..!!
Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver and anything by Kate Quinn. My favorite series is about an FBI agent named Pendergast written by Lincoln Child & Dave Preston.
Absolutely gorgeous and I too love those colors! I’m not sure I have the patience to piece it all together though…but enjoyed watching you pull it together.. I’ve been ready more Bible studies lately. Seems comforting in these crazy times.
I wasn’t sure I was going to like this card, but no, I love the way it turned out! You sound so sweet, pleasant to listen to. Thank you for sharing Bethany. I don’t know if that is in fact, your name or not. I have to ask, is there a reason your rings are on the opposite hands?
I'm the same way! I forget details from books all the time! My favorite so far this year is Lessons In Chemistry- I couldn't put it down! (I JUST recommended The 7 Husbands to one of my friends! So good!) Question- does the anti static powder you use leave a white residue? I'm having trouble finding one that won't leave cloudiness on acetate 😒
Harry Potter. My favorite is the Half Blood Prince. Those books started my journey into the magical world of reading.
My favorite book ever, Jane Eyre!!

Beautiful Card! Also, as for the book question: “Conversations with God”.
I really enjoyed the Outlander series!!!
I love historical fiction!!!
“Crafting and creating is for me…It’s my time to be”. Love this.

My all time favourite book is Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
Now that was a beautiful book! I might need to reread that soon, loved it.

It looks so pretty 💛💛💛💛💛💛 White pines chronicle by Hilda Stahl. She is gone now. Anything by Lori, Wick, and Anita Stanfield
What a stunning card. You’re so talented 🥰
Absolutely gorgeous and I too love those colors! I’m not sure I have the patience to piece it all together though…but enjoyed watching you pull it together.. I’ve been ready more Bible studies lately. Seems comforting in these crazy times.
Lovely card I always love your color selection. The Reincarnationist Papers is my favorite. I just finished book 2 and I wanted it to just keep going.
Beautiful card
Charles by Jack Weyland😉

Do you have a recommendation for a starter ink pads in terms of colors and brand? I am thinking of starting but i am in a budget.
