Thanks Rich, it's so nice to have the facility again. I was operating out of one loft for a long time and it got pretty crowded in there quick. That was my fault as I turned my breeding loft into my work shop. Thanks for watching and God bless my brother!
You build completely different pigeon lofts than we do in Europe. Do you only take part in the pigeon races for the youngsters? Here in Europe we always have a compartment for the breeders, a compartment for the youngsters and two or more compartments for the old pigeons that also take part in the pigeon races. These compartments for the old racing pigeons are then divided into a female compartment and a male compartment.
Hi Dirk, yeah I only do YB races. That's all my time will permit at the moment. We have club members who work on Saturdays so all of our races are on Sunday and it's cutting into family time (going to church, etc,,,)The YB season starts late August and goes on until mid/late November. Yes, loft builds are definitely different here compared to Europe. You guys are doing it right! I think part of the reason for this is that most American cities/towns have HOA's (Home Owners Association) which limits things you can/cannot do with your property (bylaws). I would love to see your loft if you have youtube page. I'm always looking for ideas to make caring for the birds efficient.
@@ponderosalofts6851 I don't have a you tube page. I don't have any more pigeons either. It was my hobby for 50 years but I had to part with the pigeons due to illness. Whenever I see good videos, I feel free to send them. greeting Dirk
Sorry to hear about your illness. Hope you are doing better now! I started with pigeons when I was 5 and all the way thru high school. gave it up when I went to college and the military and started backup just 3 years ago. It amazes me how much more medicines and supplements are available nowadays. I remember just giving the birds natural stuff when they get sick.
Looking good, glad you got the breeders in their new space!
