So you want to learn DevOps? Watch this first...

In this video, I am going to share my personal journey from application development to DevOps engineering and provide tips on how you can make the transition too. I started as a software engineer, coding applications, but soon realised there was more to it than just writing code. This curiosity led me to explore the DevOps space.
To break down the vast field of DevOps, focus on learning the software development lifecycle and understanding the role of a platform team working in the DevOps space. Grasping essential concepts like continuous integration (CI), automating steps from the developer machine to production, ensuring application reliability and security, and keeping up with new tools will help you excel in this field.
Remember, you'll never be done learning in the DevOps space, as there's always something new to master. Companies use different tools, so don't worry about knowing everything. What truly matters is your motivation and willingness to learn. Embrace the process of constant growth and pushing yourself out of your comfort zone.
If you're ready for the challenge, you've made the right decision to enter the DevOps space. But if not, reconsider your choices, as building and updating your skills is an ongoing process in this field.
