Lol I thought it was just me. I can’t stop watching my tiger barbs. They are very entertaining. When I break up a algae wafer into small pieces they play with the pieces shooting it into the water and catching it again. I love it. Very interesting fish. Love your videos oh I also love my little emerald corydoras. They are so friendly and entertaining
I love the honeycomb catfish!!!!! Love the gobies too!! I will try these soon. You know how much I love, love the hillstream loaches!! ❤️❤️❤️. I hope you are doing well.
I have a small, 10ltr planted tank on my kitchen bench with just 3 little male endlers and red cherry shrimp. I just love watching this while I’m working in the kitchen as they’re so pretty and active. I say go for it.
I have several favorites. My panda Garras are right up there though. Could sit and watch for hours (I can't sit that long without going to sleep. Lol).
Nice choices! The honeycomb catfish is on my dream fish list! I dont have any super special fish but I really enjoy watching my Emperor Tetras display to each other as well as my Harlequin Rasboras. My Celestial Pearl Danios are always active and interesting too!
I have to absolutely agree with all your choices!! Fascinating, beautiful and just really cool! The Guppies are gorgeous.. so different, some of the males would be beautiful in your Fluval spec 💞 The Gobies are definitely some fish I would love to watch all the time!! WOW Rachel thank you for sharing your beautiful aquariums with us!!🙏🌿🐟🌿💚
Kind of surprised the Chili Rasbora didn’t make the list. For such an absolutely tiny fish, they never cease to amaze me with how bold and personable they are! One of my long-term goals in the hobby is to have a shoal of 100 or so in a 40 breeder 😊
I own 8 healthy bubble eye goldfish. And I love them. I know how people feel about them, and not in favor of them. But! I like what I like. So sue me. Lol For my tropical fish, I’d have to say this pair of GBR’s I have. Very curious, outgoing personalities. They are very entertaining. Hoping they’ll get the egg laying right. They keep eating them. Just experimenting to see if they will eventually learn how to be parents before I pull out the eggs. But they spawned and laid eggs 3x now. Fun video R! Thanks to your sumo loach video I’m def getting more. I have 11 currently and 6 more on the way. They’re very entertaining to watch too.
The Wiggle Wars Continue.. 🤣 The big boys clamouring to be on camera. 😊. Love the Honeycomb Cats!!!! Simply adorable. 🤗 Really been tempted to do an endler tank. The shiners are another little gem I'm very interested in as well. 🤔 Gobbies are a very interesting little fish as well, haven't done much work with them. Really fun video Rachel.... Thanks.. have a great weekend. Next time. 👍
No wonder those are some of your favorite species! It would be hard for me to choose a favorite from all your fantastic fish! Thank you for this video this evening, so enjoyable to watch.
I like to watch all of my cory catfish, I have pigmy and a panda Cory cat fish but I also do very much enjoy watching my yellow tiger Endlre's livebearers, I only have males because I don't want babies and they get along well with my pygmy Cory catfish 💯💯 vry epic
Yay, guppies made the list! Guppies are my absolute favorite, always. I definitely think a few males would be amazing in your Fluval Spec. I'm so glad the Ginga Rubras are doing so well for you. They're so incredible with their bright colors. 💖
I would love to see how those guppies do in the fluval spec- I have been looking for a smaller species to put in my spec and I think that they would be a great addition. TYFS - have a great day and stay safe!
I’m not a big fan of live bearers either. I prefer wild type fish and most live bearers in the hobby no longer resemble their ancestors. But those little guppies...I might make an exception. Drop dead gorgeous. And I like the shorter caudal fins-nothing too extravagant. Great video.
All of my corys keep me captivated. The pygmy corys for the way they're always on the move, the trilineatus for their glass surfing (esp in the flow from the bubble wand), and just all the others as they bumble around the tank, connecting and interacting with each other and their environment.
So glad the aufwuchs grew back! 5) Love how the gar islike take a picture of ME!! 4)They so cute w/their white bellies and wiggle. 3) they do look like endler hybrids/seem similar to my black bars I got from you. Those boys are handsome 2) have always liked them in your 150 1) love the color of these guys.
I haven’t got enough tanks at the moment to say what my favourite fish in my tanks are. I’ll just go with my top 5 favourite fish I’ve kept over my 4 years in the hobby. 5. Half moon betta My first fish was a half moon betta, he was dark blue with red fins. I loved keeping bettas but with the stocking in my current tank I can’t keep one anymore 4. Hoplo catfish My 2 hoplo catfish are awesome. They are constantly moving around my tank, scavenging for food or digging up my plants, just an awesome docile catfish that doesn’t grow too large. 3. Flowerhorn I’ve only kept 1 flowerhorn and sadly my flowerhorn died after 6 months due to a prolapse, my flowerhorn was a titanium female and was kept in my 5ft bowfront 120g with my 2 oscars. 2. Oscars My 2 oscars were amazing, and currently reside in my lfs due to me having to shut down my tank because it was at my grand parents house and they have become unwell. I had one tiger oscar that I got at around an inch in size, then my second was a red oscar that was around 3 inches when I got him, they were both females. They’re an awesome fish to keep if you have the space and the time to care for the tank 1. Clown knife fish My clown knife was hands down my favourite fish I’ve kept. He was so friendly and would almost take food out of my hands. Before the comments come, yes he was in my 120g, I knew that he would grow to 3 feet and had plans to build a heated pond for him and my other monsters, however due to the same reasons as shutting down my 120 these plans never commenced. I got him nearly 2 years ago at around 5 inches, 18 months later he’s just over 2 feet in a 180 gallon at my lfs. It was saddening to see him go but it was all for a good reason. Honourable mentions: Clown loaches Bumblebee Catfish (awesome fish to keep) Green Texas cichlids Pictus Catfish Vieja argentea
I love all your choices. I think this spring I will have to make a pilgrimage to Pennsylvania to buy some fish from you in person (with gloves, masks, and social distancing). I would love to buy a few of those guppies. They are gorgeous. I’d also love to get a few more honeycomb cats to go with the five I bought from you before the world fell apart. That’s assuming you would do an in person transaction. Take care. Stay safe.
Another great video. As a compliment to you, I think you don't make enough videos. By that I mean I anxiously await everything you put out. I love your species profiles and everything else. I just hope that U-Tube is not restricting me to your videos through their algorithms.
The youtube algorithm... yes, it restricts your choices - it is my experience anyway, often you have to change the wording of your searches. I look at so many videos from Racheal O'Leary and Alexander Williams that every time I look for a specific subject I only get videos from someone else if Rachel or Alexander haven't covered it... chances are they do. 😊👍 I also find this with music, when I play music through youtube, I get the same music every time, unless I search for something different.
2nd comment. That question was sorta hard. Like asking a parent which one is thier favorite child. Lol. I have apistos, tetras, rasboras, catfish, guppies, loaches, angels, barbs, plecos, shrimp, snails, and goldfish. And I guess after looking at my list an addiction. 😄
My current favorites are Vietnamese white cloud minnows, red koi tuxedo guppies and my first ever Apistogramma, A. trifasciata. BTW, I was inspired by your species profile video to track down the Vietnamese white clouds.
Fantastic, all fish are fun. I seem to like different fish for different reasons. My choice right now would change by the end of the day. Thanks for all the videos you do! Stay safe and take care!
What would you suggest as final tankmates for a 20 gallon long of 10 endlers, a few nerites, and a plakat betta male? Is there something between those sizes to help bridge the gap between the betta's large size and the endler's small scale, that will occupy parts of the tank the endlers aren't likely to? Water is slightly hard. Can I do some pygmy sunfish or would that be overstocking?
Hi again Rachel. I recently acquired a Stiphodon pair. The larger of the two often appears to be light blue along its lateral line. The sencond part of the species name begins with H. But I can't find a listing. Any ideas?
I want some Gobbies so bad. My favorite fish im my aquarium is my bristlnose pleco. If i saw my clown pleco more often it might be it ( i am biased to plecos). Australian Rainbow fish are my best schooler especially when they are in chill mode. My most underrated favorite in my tank is the rosey red minnow ( fat head). They always surprise me. No matter what i put in the aquarium they find a way to use it. They have alot of personality. They love power head currents and they love a sandy bottom. They love grazing on veggies all day. Their about as cheap as they get too.
My saddled bichir is about 1 year old more or less and is the pit bull you walk down the street that makes everyone cross to the other side in fear lol
I love gobies so much and I want to get them!!! I wish I could get some bigger tanks but I plan on moving soon and I wanna get those when I am settled in, I'm just so excited I want like every fish
I know this is an older comment, but did you end up getting some new tanks? I moved a couple of months ago and have been having a great deal of fun restocking my tanks with both staple and unusual species. A couple of new 30g tanks got added, thanks to Craigslist/Kijiji. 👍
Thanks for another video with interesting species. The bichirs have always been a favorite wish fish for me due to the weight constraints of the larger tank required to house them. Thanks for sharing.
Hola Rachel , me encanta ver sus videos! son espectaculares.. Gracias por compartir!! Solo queria pedirle si es posible colocarle subtitulos? Saludos!!
Hi Rachel, I love watching your videos! They are spectacular .. Thanks for sharing !! I just wanted to ask you if it is possible to put subtitles on it? =D
Thoughts on the _Pimelodus pictus?_ I never hear any mention of them in the hobby anymore. They have been strangely absent for at least the past two decades. Stay classy my friend.
@@RachelOLeary are they always wild caught I assume? I had a pair now just the female. I feel bad she's alone but would prefer captive bred if I had a chance to get more. She is a cool fish. Anyways, I hope you are well!
some you may expect, but the livebearers were a surprise for me! Stay safe and healthy! See ya in the next one :)
Hi Rachel, do you happen to have any info on bluefin killifish?
don't blame you--those ginga rubra are gorgeous! are you still working with any Endler strains?

Right? Blonde body but still so natural!
I like the smaller tailed guppies too. I sometimes take the dropped off guppy fry from my LFS, so it's always a surprise to see what I end up with. 😆
