No, I have to, osu! on OLED would be absolutely insane to play at night
the only thing you be seeing is the circle which is somewhat more easier to pay attention to
Only problem is OLED is too expensive for me
@@Olat.Vanity you dont need oled lcd is perfect for gaming
@@oneplay5570 I’m also an artist so I need color accuracy
Its important to note that when monitors list their response times, that has nothing to do with their latency. Its more about motion blur/clarity.
Response time is how quickly a pixel can shift from one color to another.
Latency would be time difference between moving the mouse, and having the image update.
Having longer response times leads to more blurry images when in motion, because the pixels do not change color instantly. Most gaming LCD panels have around 1ms response times, which is fast, but still results in noticeable blur on fast moving images. OLEDs have much better response times (usually around 0.02ms), which give them astounding motion clarity.
Even high end gaming systems have about 20-40ms end to end system latency. (This is the time from mouse movement, to cursor moving on screen).
even the fastest lcd panel average around 2.7ms response times when measured (rting's measurements asus 540hz PG248QP)
most 240hz ips monitors sit around 5-10ms when using an overdrive profile without major overshoot(inverse ghosting).
any lcd overdrive profile with around 1ms response times would have egregious overshoot(inverse ghosting) making it unplayable.
There's an intermediate state between colors in OLED monitors? I thought that it was just an on/off thing.
But if that's the case (working in on/off), how do you measure the time it takes to change from one state to another and how do you differentiate that to the time it takes to respond to your input?
Because with the info you gave it looks like the thing they're measuring is the response time
False information detected! Lower gtg response times will not always provide you with better motion clarity. If the gtg response time is lower than the monitor refresh duration then it's already optimal motion clarity in that department as it completly negates ghosting. It is completly irrelevant how low gtg response times are below that threshold as the final result will be the same anyways at the moment of the monitor refreshing. That being said, if a monitor manages to achieve such results, it would be on par with the oled response time wise atleast in the aspect you are describing.
I kinda forgot that koifishu existed, I'm glad he uploaded again.
Literally 12 days ago...
are you a goldfish or perhaps an ant?
@@murun_ yeah I kinda forgot about that video, but hes uploading a bit more than he has been
As someone with the exact same monitor but far less skill, it's FREAKY playing osu! on this thing. There's just something so...idk, sharp(?) about everything that's moving. It really does feel like you're not quite playing what you're looking at. A bit of advice tho, these monitors are sensitive to ambient light, those nice blacks can actually raise to more of a purple or "lighter" black with just a little ambient light. Give the monitor a go in full gremlin mode with your lights off. Ofc that's not ideal for content creation but I'd like to know if you notice a difference in your play. Much love
@icedspadewhyu would you not be able to play roblox on it
@icedspadeyour question was stupid lol ofc he would react like that
@icedspade you can play roblox on any monitor but unironically roblox is way better if u uncap the refresh rate w external programs
@@NapalmSalesman-oj2bb there's an official fps setting now so the third party uncapping is pointless
I have a 240 hz OLED and it's amazing
also playing osu at night, with lights off and background dim 100% feels like osu is basically in the middle of your room because you don't see where your screen ends because it's perfect black, really cool, immersive osu experience xD
im just gonna say shige bought one but 240hz and was able to read 10.5 again, it definetely helps because on how fast pixels can refresh
osu lazer on my 240hz LG oled + hiding the UI + dark room = chill circle experience
my first and the last osu perspective of wow effect was just meeting top players who only using id map for searching and thats it
lost me at "supports up to 300 pounds"

@@NapalmSalesman-oj2bb yeah buddy I got that much, I also watches the video :P
Shigetora bought an OLED and instantly was able to play dt again without hurting his eyes, so yeah oled is good for some situations
Koi: HUH
me: so whos also gonna mass buy monitors now
i just watched the 390hz monitor video lol
Oled is the best thing you can get for any game not even a question
ah man, this practically begs for another sequel when the 1440p 480hz oled monitors drop later this year
Thank you very much KoiFishu :)
Koifishu upload YIPPEE!
I have a 65' C3 OLED and it is REALLY that incredible!
wdym I don't have to? I have to brooo
Finally a new Video
Not me reading it "Oiled Monitor"💀
haven't watched it yet but TL;DR "It helped me, but will it help you? Probably not. Should you invest in this to be more comfortable playing? No."
this title better be satire
them hipyotech titles go hard
it may be placebo but at least it's a business expense
Might have to cop
0.03 isn't actually the response time of the display, its marketing talk which really rubs me the wrong way.
Can you explain more in detail please, im looking for a monitor myself and would like to know what is real or not.
@@goblingaming3067 I can. The 0.03 ms is the latency response of the Monitor, not of the video being sent from the gpu to the monitor.
In valorant at 260fps I get around 20ms latency, in osu is probably not as noticeable since you can run the game at 1300fps most of the time minimum
@@goblingaming3067 The advertised response time is *always* false and marketing. You should always see reviews from Rtings or Monitors Unboxed for example. The actual response time of OLED is around 0.3ms or less and the absolute best IPS or TN monitors are around 2ms. Advertised 1ms could really be 10ms but anything below 6ms is good for an IPS, VA, or TN monitor.
@@EneRec 20ms latency 💀
most reviews actually measured this monitor to be around 0.2ms-0.3ms response times.
STILL THIS IS SIGNIFICANTLY FARTHER AHEAD THAN ANY OTHER MONITOR TECH OUT THERE.
most high end lcd displays when properly measured wont even come close to 4ms response times, yes 4ms. the 540hz asus is around 2.7ms response times according to rtings.
koifishu became speed player and gonna beat mrekk!!
As a 60hz laptop user I really enjoyed this review that will not help me at all
OK THATS IT im getting a fucking 1.2€ 4k 240hz OLED monitor.
how grandpa is still able to play 300bpm
"recently"
nah, i only play in lazer looks so much better

I read oled as oiled up 🤦♂️
I had already planned on investing in an OLED display but nothing from Alienware because they have shit taste for business practices so I’m going with LG for a 240Hz display
didn't even get the 480hz oled smh...
there is a 480 hz oled one
I guess I’ll go negative
nahh you're just flexing on us... with all your money.
OLED monitors make blacks ACTUALLY BLACK since it turns off the pixel if its just black
Well, it depends. If you gave me this monitor instead of my 60Hz IPS monitor it would probably boost my skill a bit despite me not even being close to top player level
i want to have to
you should do a video about trying a CRT monitor since those have the same benefits as OLED monitors, 0ms, deep blacks, insane motion clarity (better than oled)
I play OSU on a 60hz monitor incoming💀
magnifique
why is his cursor so humongous
OLEDs are awesome not just because of the awesome response time but the true blacks bc there is no backlight. Every pixel is individually lit and the colors and blacks are S tier. What I am worried about while using OLED screens is burn in. It can happen if you use it for static content especially when it's white. Just imagine your monitor getting burn in with osu! ui lmao. That would've been crazy. osu420 would easily do that
wonder why im a noob, monitor issue
send it to mrekk
but i want to
what does that title even mean
You don't have to pretty much gamble by spending an enormous amount of money to find out if it's gonna be better for you to play osu on this monitor or not (like it was with 540hz). Instead you can just watch the video to know that it will, in fact, be a better experience
It's not even that complicated, what do you not understand?
ty koifishuu for making me blow 800 dollars
I play on a 60htz monitor. It’s the only thing I haven’t upgraded for my setup. I shit miss so much on jumps that I know I’m consistent at (seems contradictory but it’s true somehow). Also I always feel like I can’t really track my cursor well. If I upgrade would it actually help with these issues?
no
no
Yeah
It'll help for sure but this monitor is for so much more than just osu lmao. First you gotta make sure your hardware can even run this monitor (higher hz = more processing power needed). For eg in my old laptop I got like 0.8ms delay from the osu metric, but in my new 144hz laptop I can only get 1.2ms lowest (I get 800fps though so its obviously better haha).
i play HR and sometimes farm HR with 75hz or sometimes using 60hz monitor, your issue seems like either your area is too big / sens too low that you have to move your hand off the comfortable position that you are used to and consistent with
Horrayy
The reason you can play better is more because you gained like 2.5k pp from the last video lol
wouldnt want an oled for osu due to burn in of the ui
3 year burn in warranty + you'll probably get burn in from other things + burn in really isnt as much of an issue as you think, the stress tests you've seen are way different
been playing osu for 2hrs a day since december with high brightness oled, and normal desktop/gaming for 8hr+ a day and have had no issues. screen also does pixel cleaning when it is inactive
koifishu still not 1 digit? shame shouldve used the 540hz monitor
If DKS is bannable then OLED should be as well
