The pin likely does more damage. The armor and weapon were 100% augmented for the showcase since I doubt they would give us white sharpness so early against a LR Ajarakan
Maybe in G-rank, vanilla MH has been getting easier and easier as to not scare away the new players. That is likely the damage if you're decently geared.
@@baconx6476it’s not that it’s getting easier, it’s that you’re getting better, your first mh game will always be the most difficult, I bet we are gonna see people struggle with monsters that we all beat in our first attempt, just like how Anjanath became a wall in mhworld.
I quite love the way that Ajarakan uses its back as an igniter/firestarter, dragging its back to create sparks and, when heated up, ignite flames. And to be fair, Ajarakan is just the mid-level Monster of the Oilwell Basin given how it seems to solidly defeat the likely starter Monster of the area, Rompopolo the Popo Drome, and is below the Apex of the area a.k.a. "The Black Flame; understandable that it's not gonna instantly cart a moderately geared Hunter with its pin attack.

I don’t think Capcom is pulling back the punches for those pin attacks. I think the trailer has just nerfed the damage from the monster for show casing purposes.
that sounds awesome. i know that teostra has a similar thing going on with how it gnashes its teeth together to create a spark that ignites the powder it produces, so its not too far fetched to think that for Ajarakan.
7:36 At the beginning of the pin attack the hunter has roughly 80% health, once grabbed health slowly diminishes. The finish of the pin attack (the slam and release) leaves the hunter with roughly 40% health. I'm not sure what you consider punishing but I think what we're seeing is more than reasonable. Just my two cents.
I think the new HP meter also has a way of making attacks feel a bit less painful since it takes up less space. But I agree, if the Hunter was at just over half, that would have killed him.
@@landshark8794 The players current health is where the horizontal tick mark is,. It is not represented with color. The red portion appears to be how much health the player will lose if the don't get rid of blast blight. They have about 75% health after the attack
@@wincollum With respect, that's incorrect. If you're talking about the tick mark (which is vertical) that just signifies the maximum amount health/stamina. Green is current health. The red portion is recoverable health regardless of status or status buildup. The hunter CAN recover back up to the vertical tick unless they take further damage. So if people want to argue that you can recover back to the amount of health just after the slam then that's a fair argument, but that's not the argument at hand here.
It may not look like like ajarakan did much with his pin attack, but while he was holding the hunter he was actively heating up to roast him, then throws him away.
This might be the Osaka event and build but they just had a system or 2 set aside for IGN. Set ups that were at this stage of the game so they could record this to show it off. Based on the materials, this is high rank. The shells being called carapace and other materials having a + after their name is just a high rank thing. Not to mention, they have white sharpness. The blue thing is resentment activating, it deactivates the second the red health recovers. The pin's more about applying blast right away. Other attacks seams to take a few hits to apply it, like how being stabbed by lala barina will paralyze instantly but the flowers take 3 to do it. We also see how much damage blast will do to you, with the orange section on your health, seams like it does more in this game to compensate for letting you know that and being applied less.
