- TRAVELLING FROM MINDANAO TO LUZON BY LAND TRIP IS NOT EASY.
But it can be done.
1650KMs in 3 long days - this was a great first experience with my new Suzuki V-Strom 250!
From Davao City, I headed north to Lipata port in Surigao, and got lucky by getting a boat that hadn't quite been cleared to leave!
Then I take a new road from San Ricardo port on Panaon Island around its eastern side, with some sheer drops into the ocean if you overrun! There's also a 450m viaduct at San Ramon!
From there it's a journey across the mountains and plains to Tacloban, where I slept beside the famous San Juanico Bridge!
The next day, I took brunch in Calbayog - British style! Before having slightly less luck with ferries at Allen and a jaunt through the volcanic landscapes of Bicol! Dinner was a much more Filipino sinigang!
The final day was the long winding road, from Naga to Gapan in Nueva Ecija. I finally rode the Bitukang Manok in Atimonan, before eating Pancit Lucban in Tayabas (not Lucban! Shock! Horror!) and riding through Metro Manila to the North!
An adventure awaits.

I admired your behavior and manner KD, you are a flixeble kind person, who can adjust the way of living in life. No discrimination, How lucky your family are, Ingat lagi sir KD.
My greatest admiration and appreciation to you Kumander Daot for showcasing and uncovering the magnificent places of the Philippines. I have been to several countries but I can say that Philippines have the most majestic places that will truly makes the traveller in awe. You are an ambassador for tourism in your own right. Keep it up! You're doing a good job👍. Keep safe and enjoy your journey! Wish and pray that your channel will grow more subscribers. 🇵🇭❤️
You're the first foreigner to have a vlog travelling literally from Mindanao to Luzon and this will help me use as a guide when I have my travels soon in my RV so thank you sir! Safe travels mate!
Interesting that you are RVing. Ive thought of this idea but with van conversion, hammocks, tent etc and of course great resorts here and there. My thoughts about places to park are just ask and get permission and offer to pay landowner . I find many filapino to be kind courteous and generous.
@@johnnycakeslim I think the challenge is getting into Barge's (boats that carry vehicles) crossing from island to island. I think I have decided to get the Ford Transit and arranged for a full interior design soon with double deck bed, a small kitchen, shower, portable toilet some solar panels, wifi and all that jazz! Excited to explore soon! I'm gonna name my RV The Nomad.
@@cyruscain6551 You should have no problem as big tall rigs ride the ferrys all the time. The cost will be more however for sure
There are a couple of videos of doing that route from north to south. Going from Naval, Leyte riding south. If you go, do it over a week instead of an iron-butt ride. There are so many places to visit and explore that he missed.
Just get a 250cc and a tent.😊
Good job kumander. If this was a typical Pinoy motovlog, this will be a multiple part video with a lot dramas and self righteousness and they will try to milk this as long as possible. But you actually made it with only 1 video, doing all of your objectives and having fun. Great job!
To praise the guy you need to bash and humiliate the other guy huh.. can you just praise and not spread negativity
If "milking" means doing the hard work and hustling to earn from views then I do not see that as a problem. Crab

Really enjoyed the view and your very natural travel documentation. Now, I am thinking of doing the same. Feeling very inspired.
“One man and his motorbike”, would definitely sell as another additional channel!!
In my younger days I rode from Barcelona in Spain through France to Liverpool in the Uk . Took me 20 hours including ferry across the channel
What's your motorcycle sir,?

Wooow we did around 1300km in 6 days during a Bicol roadtrip and were exhausted haha.
Can't imagine in 3 days!!
By the way I love the map animation at the beginning of the video, could you share what app / editor you used to create that? 🥰
This is called "Travel Animator". My favourite accidental find! Haha 6 days would have been about right for this!
@@KumanderDaot Thank you!! I was just looking for something exactly like this!
We just bought a new dream motorcycle as well recently 😁
@@SusieinthePhilippines I was looking for something like this for so long and then it popped up in my Facebook ads of all places! So happy to find it!
Ahhh awesome what did you get?
@@KumanderDaot A Honda ADV 160 😊 We travel through a lot of mountain roads (love the Cordilleras) and rough roads so need something appropriate for these kinds of roads haha
@@SusieinthePhilippines Is there a Susie, BP, and KD motor trip being planned?

Amping kumander. Be careful of your long trip. God bless you.
I've also travelled from Davao City to Valenzuela, Manila and it took me the same number of days, except that I just took a short nap on my second day at shell gas station Naga instead of a hotel; and, it's true that your butt will hurt for a long ride but the journey and scenery are very enjoyable. I've used the motorstar 200ii sportsbike. More videos and maybe trying motocamping, hope we're able to have a same trip sometime in the future. I plan to go by land from Manila to Davao this year, 2024. 👌🏼
The road view specially the beach view is totally spectacular the view if san juanico bridge, mt mayon and mt bulusan is amazing. Stay hydrated ansel get enough rest specially when ur driving drive safe.

Points that I love… every time you drone you have amazing shots.
I shared this on my Facebook as well.
Also … I feel like I know the pain of travelling long distance in the heat. You expressed it so well.
Warm regards
Ride safely. Extra care. Relax time is on your side.
Any rain is a blessing right now kumander. It's hot here in Luzon right now most towns are hitting 40⁰c+ so bring lots of water stay hydrated. You should give your bike name. Ride safe kumander😊
The heat in Luzon is another level!
Nice video, greatly enjoyed it. Looks like the VStrom did a great job. If by banking your talking about curves try learning about 'counter steering', it works great. Just watch out for those slippery corners (wet leaves and loose sand) Thanks, Kumander...Jim
what an epic adventure KD! it would be a delight if i had a chance just to see you passing by here in Rizal.
stay safe always.
Be careful sa init kumander daot', god bless your trip.
Wow mindanao to luzon, it will be a good breaking period for your new bike, stay awake and ride safe kumander...
That was a great trip! Would have gladly watched a couple of episodes of it. If only I had a bike license, I would love to do that too. Also you look more secure riding this bike, then with the smaller bike. Safe travels, amping brud! 🍀🏍️🙏🌅

Maayoha na nimo mag binisaya commander oi. Keep it up mate🤙
That is a great adventure indeed. One of the Island you passed is LEYTE. I worked there for total of 6 years and 4 months for Geothermal power plant projects in 2 phases.
Kumander i guess you should buy some safety gear from top to bottom for your own safety and put some of side panniers for your bike so that you have enough storage for long rides like this also for the safety put aux lights for night drives and crash guards advice from a co rider hehe amping permi!
big check ❤

I'm planning to go to Batangas because that's where my gf live, thank you for sharing your ride i hope i can go there soon!
You know you're saying something about the roads in the PH when your first off roading test 1:34 for the new motor bike is on the road. Ha ha! So glad the new motor bike is working out so well for this trip. Aside from being generally tired, it seems to be good for avoiding the other aches and pains you would have been feeling with the older one.
The lights on the San Juanico Bridge are such a sight to behold, and so much incredible scenery along the way. The motor vlogging gods seemed to be with you for catching timely boats on this leg of your journey! Let's hope that continues.🙏👍🤙
Joke: How can you tell a happy motorcyclist? He's the one with the bugs on his teeth.19:59 😁🦟🪰🐝🐞

@@NickyDunn Hi, Nicky. Good to see you still have time to keep up with other people's vlogs. Happy Tuesday.🤙
I wasn't quite awake enough for the first off road test haha! I'm gonna remember your joke too 😁
Biggs is a prominent American Diner-style restaurant chain in the Bicol region. I believe there is one branch in Manila, somewhere in Fairview, Quezon City.
That's a really nice bike Kumander! And those places you just passed are amazing!
Very nice watching your trip from Davao to Nueva ecija, always keep safe travel kumander.👍

Most excellent run young fella !!!
In the UK there's an event called the Iron Butt Rally, where a group of motorcyclists attempt to ride 1000 miles(1609 km) in 24 hrs. I successfully did it about 12yrs ago.
I might have to try it... The concrete roads here are good training!
Have iron man rally in the Philippines too every two years event...
Respect to you sir. Salamat po for appreciating our humble country. Ingat po sa byahe palagi.
So many interesting things happend to your journey met new friends and amazed with beautifull places along the way to your destinations in luzon

Nice one bro. Hopefully magkaroon ako ng pagkakataon makacollab ka. Ride Safe lagi brother
Impressive for just 250ccs. That V-Strom is built well.
I've just done the same but with a 110cc that I bought in Manila and drove it 8000+ km circling the north of Luzon, through Samar/Leyte and the Visayas all the way down to Mati. Absolute insane journey
i really liked it when you talk visaya :) enjoy your boss and stay safe :)

I'm really looking forward to being in the Philippines come January 2025, and travel by motorcycle or scooter as well...
Watching from California, it looks safe to ride but be careful
Enjoy commander Daot. Nice video very informative. God Bless All Your trip in the country side.. 👏👍😁
That’s what I plan when I move from the UK to the Philippines later this year- getting a new motorbike and doing some epic road trips. I’m considering the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
Himalayan no longer available in the Philifor 2025...
I remember months ago I mentioned to you that since you travel a lot on a motorcycle with so many rough and unfinished roads and many up and down hills in the Philippines. Why not get a motorbike that's good on and off the road and rough terrains. I'm glad you did get one. Just be extra careful driving. When feeling tired and sleepy pull off the road and rest. By the way, nice moustache. It suits you.
I needed it! The sniper jarred me on those!
33kpl not bad... since you got the yellow. might get the black.. more power!!

I am going to follow your Motorbike adventure journey to observe the awesome land of the Philippines and learn more about the Suzuki 250 bike it seems perfect for this journey and should be incredible fuel efficient and durable for the harsh roads of asia.
