  • "Patients want to know the recovery from a breast augmentation procedure, and the answer is it's really not that long and it's not that bad. Recovering from a first time augmentation isn't painful, but what you will feel is pressure. When you wake up, it's just going to feel like somebody's sitting on your chest, like a tightness or a heaviness, and most of that is gone by the fourth day. By day number five, you should be completely back to normal, doing pretty much anything you want to do. You just can't work out or lift anything heavy. That, of course, is going to be six weeks.
The recovery from a revisional breast augmentation is very different. At that point, even though you might be adjusting the pocket, doing an internal bra opening, closing, that really brings no pain. So, the first augmentation is when the muscle is stretched the initial time, that's where all the discomfort comes from. Once the muscle's stretched once, revising it is very easy. If you have any questions about these recoveries, please give us a call. We'd love to go over them with you."
