I've ridden both, and for my weight (160 lbs no gear) the 350 is perfect with plenty of power. If you are a bigger guy or want to ride more on the streets, as well...I'd say the 501. I've never said "I wish I went with the 501".

Yea, no problem. At the time I was living in So Cal and went to 3 Bros KTM in Costa Mesa. I've never ridden a crf 450 or ridden with someone that has one (you'd have to research the HP difference).
