One of my favorite details in this show is how Stan struggles to say please, while Ford struggles to say thank you. An interesting contrast which shows they aren't so different.
Very fascinating.
I never noticed that before.
omg i never noticed this 😂
Opposite, yet the same.
I've seen this at least 2-3 times and I didn't catch that, wow.
When the show ended, there was a treasure hunt of sorts for Bill's statue in the scene after Stan's mind was erased. It was found eventually in a forest in Reedsport, Oregon, and was later moved to Confusion Hill in Piercy, California, where it is now. I'm just sad I was too little to have watched it at the time, because it was a nationwide thing.
Same
It was amazing, even when I was observing from home and had to catch up via Twitter and Tumblr.
Oh no statue, it WAS Bill.
Frozen in stone in the middle of the woods, hand outstretched, ready to make a deal...
The Cipher hunt literally spanned the globe and when people finally him, there was a music box chest that played the show's theme song whenbit opened. Inside, among other things was a special copy of Journal 3, filled with messages written in invisible ink.
@@cravdraa yeah i think I'm gonna edit it to make the phrasing different
I visited Confusion Hill and touched the statue
7 years later, and this finale still gets me...
"See you next Summer"

Same. 😢
Me too 😭
The fans still miss the show...
But their aim is getting better.
Their aim is getting better.
Me too. Don't even know how many times I've watched this, but it gets me every time.
Favourite quote of the show: "I HAVE SOME CHILDREN TO MAKE INTO CORPSES!" -Bill
Yeah, I don’t know how this was a kids show 😅
Yeah it's tied for me with his sales pitch to Ford where he talks about taking over the world and draws the smiley face on the world.
But I think that my favorite line must be his " Welcome one and all to weirdmageddon"
my favorite bill's quote is either "time is dead and meaning has no meaning" or "i'll disassemble your molecules"
Mine is the one after that.
*"When I get my hands on you kids, I'm gonna Disassemble Your Molecules!!!"*
Best Disney villain
After Weirdmageddon ended, time was reversed to the day before it happened. Also the journals were restored, the Pines deemed them too dangerous, so they threw them into the bottomless pit
Wouldn't The Journals Be Thrown Back Up? Cause We Saw How The Pines Family Fell In And Came Out Unscathed.
living things come back out but objects dont@@hannahburke7328
@@hannahburke7328The Pit is complicated. Journal 3 explains it, but not every thing does come back. Imagine an infinity "eight" loop with an entrance and an exit. Some things travel the loop and eventually come back up the entrance. Some things go through the exit, wherever that may lead. And some things never leave the loop, ever.
_"It is nearly impossible to predict what will return and what won't. There are no discernible patterns in terms of time of day or weather conditions. Of course, socks never come back. Junk mail almost always does. Ironically, nothing ever seems to get lost on Friday the Thirteenth. The speed at which things return also varies, but experimentation has taught me that if something does not return within twenty-four hours, it never comes back."_
- Stanford Pines, Journal 3
Eventually, Journal 3 did end up out of the loop and to somewhere. To us.
Technically Mabel got what was promised then - a delaying of time. This also explains why her friends are there to say good-bye.
@@theAstarrr I know this is a year old but still. I mean…. If the literal apocalypse happened with Cthulhu controlling it all, and then a week later your daughter and her friend ended up completely undoing it… I’d think music camp was a little less important lol 😂
The part where Stan and Ford are 100% ready and willing to fight this random bus driver for Mabel and Waddles will never not be one of my favorites XD
I love that he is not a random bus driver. He was in Twin Peaks which was, along with The X-Files, part of the inspiration for Alex Hirch when he was creating Gravity Falls.
@@MichelleK.B. Oh, nice! The more you know!
For a lot of us Gravity Falls fans, this ending was legendary and it almost seemed like no other Disney show would live up to the same standards. That is, until Amphibia and Owl House
It's no coincidence that both Amphibia and The Owl House were made by people who worked on Gravity Falls ^^
@@ArkadiBolschekAnd Dana literally was Alex's girlfriend🥺💖
well they were under Alex's watchful eye
I'd say amphibia had the best ending. Stan regaining his memory so quickly left a bad taste in my mouth and the owl house ending was too happy for my likeness. Amphibia did the right amount of fkd up in the end lol.
@@levangiorgadze5842 Stan lost his memory ONCE, McGucket do it SO MANY times...
The photo of the bill statue at the end is the first clue to a worldwide treasure hunt created by alex hirsch. Gravity falls fans travelled all over the world to find the clues and at the end the statue was found along with some other stuff in the woods somewhere in Oregon i think. Alex Hirsch said he wanted to give the fans one last mistery to solve :]
When you say “worldwide “, do you mean inside the borders of USA?
@@DenDarEmi most were in the usa but there were clues in russia and japan aswell!
I'll admit, I cried a little at that final scene. Such a great show and a summer I'll never forget. I'm glad to have seen it again with you. Also, "I've got some children I need to make into corpses!" Bill is one big middle finger to child friendly obsessed parents and Disney.
best line in the show, hands down.
I feel ya. I cried too. Three times. First when I watched it as a little kid, then when I rewatched it and now with Mosco. I'm still denying it ended.
The part where the ship said "Stan O' War II" is what finally broke me.
Love that line.
The best summer ever.
I'm 100% on Stan's side, if someone tried to grammar nazi me in the middle of a life or death situation I'd lose it too
Right like I'm sorry why is it only Stan's fault lmao, why did Ford have to get the last word at a time like THAT? Everybody always talks about Stan breaking but Ford was ACTIVELY poking at him like hello
edit: Mosco absolutely didn't only shit on Stan and I should clarify that, I started thinking back to when the finale first came out and all the fandom discussions that happened back then abt the brothers and that influenced my wording but I don't wanna give her any flack lol
Fr especialy when he knows the stan was already mad at him and that he's short tempered
@@alex._420 also Stan's intelligence has been undermined his whole life in comparison to his older brother! I know I'm probably thinking too hard about it but I have so many feelings about Stan lol
What made it even worse is that Ford was wrong, too! Confidently correcting incorrectly.
@@Rutabega_NGright or wrong, I’d still be mad
“I’ve got some children I need to turn into corpses” probably the most metal and intimidating line of the show
Super commonly known fact: Bill cyphers last words backwards were "A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time has come to burn i invoke the ancient powers that i may return" he was asking for redemption before his death to an all powerful axolotl that allowed him his redemption but he must take a new form in a new time.
And that new form was King! 😂
Trivia: Axolotls are named after the Aztec god Xolotl, the twin brother of the Sun God, Quetzalcoatl. Xolotl was, among other things, the God of the Dead, God of Twins, God of Deformities and the God of Monsters.
@@GrahamChapman Did not know Xolotl wasvthe god of those things!
This is Bill we're talking about, he doesn't want redemption lol. Axolotl maybe plans on making Bill get redeemed via reincarnation, but Bill just wants a way to stay alive, he's Bill freaking Cipher, a near pure evil villain, he doesn't want redemption lol.
@@cbfranco3307 yes he doesn't!
A-X-O-L-O-T-L will have plans for him, whether or not reincarnation will be involved >:)
No matter how many times I rewatch Gravity Falls, I will always cry at the final scenes.
The night the finale released, I was going through a really tough breakup, drove home two hours and then watched the finale and just broke down.
This show gives me so much comfort even so many years later. Still one of my personal golden favorite shows.
One thing I love about the symbolism in 23:18 where the cross in the sky is reflecting off his glasses is that it means Stan has forgotten everything that has happened. Remember the symbol of the blind eye, thats basically what this one scene represents
According to the Journal 3 actual book you can buy IRL, theres a few tidbits that mention Stan’s Ex-Wife Marilyn. Apparently the two were married for approximately 6 hours, and It was basically a ruse Marilyn pulled to steal Stan’s money and car. In one of the commentary tracks, Alex Hirsch (as Stan) elaborates that the two met in Las Vegas, and Marilyn is described as having pale skin, an abnormally sharp tooth, and a shirt that read “Over 30 and Very Flirty”. Finally, in the Lost Legends graphic novel, theres a wanted poster showing the silhouette of someone with wild hair holding what looks like a long stick.
In the Owl House episode “Yesterday’s Lie” we learn that Marilyn was an alias used by Eda on her visits to the human realm, and Dana Terrace has gone on record saying that Eda has DEFINITELY been to Vegas.
Gravity Falls and The Owl House take place in the same universe and Eda married Stan just to rob him.
I still can't believe Disney allowed "I've got some children I need to make into corpses"
1:50 - *“A bit bittersweet.”*
Oh, you have no idea how prophetic those words are…
16:45- *“Wendy!”*
If you look back at the series, the "Ice" symbol was featured twice in episodes that also heavily involved Wendy: _The Inconveniencing_ and later _The Time Traveller's Pig_
17:25 - *“Stoppit! Stop being a dick!”*
Stan Pines: Peter-Quill-ing shit up since before Peter Quill became the synonym for pulling this crap. 😁
18:19 - *“Is this like an extra long episode?”*
It was written and originally broadcast as a single, long episode like this, but on later broadcasts it has often been broken up into two episodes, and I believe that DIsney+ also lists them that way. For the split-episode version, an extra code was inserted, and the "second" episode starts with a recap narrated by Soos, because it starts right in the middle of the climax.
The credits code that got inserted at this point translates to *"Soos later forced McGucket to watch all 900 hours of **_Neon Crisis Mechabot Boy: Revelations",_* referring to the scene where Soos demonstrated the value of gun-swords during the build montage. The code on the journal puzzle page translates to:
*_Ten symbols placed around a wheel_*
*_Hand in hand they'll bond the seal_*
*_But break the chain, and pay the cost_*
*_The prophecy will all be lost._*
25:27 - *“Yes!”*
Notice how, when he remembered nothing, the fez just sat on top of his hair, like it didn't belong, making him look strange and different - but now that he's starting to remember, it suddenly fits back into place, and he starts looking like himself again.
31:15 - _"If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called 'Gravity Falls'."_
The first episode started with a voice over narration by Dipper, and the last episode closes with one.
31:52 - *“I'm okay; this is fine.”*
It's okay. We're all crying, too. _Everybody_ cries at this, except spambots and video game publishing executives, but that's just because they have no souls to hurt.
33:17 - *“Ohh, you'se are gonna have to let me know what the codes meant, at the end of that one.”*
The code in the scrolling "scrap-book" credits translates to *"Goodbye Gravity Falls"* mirroring the very first code that welcomed us there. The final journal puzzle page contains this melancholy little poem, evoking warm memories of childhood summers past:
*_Faded pictures bleached by sun_*
*_The tale's told, the summer's done_*
*_In memories the Pines still play_*
*_On a sunny summer's day_*
When all of the puzzle frames from the end of season two's episodes are assembled, they form a huge picture of Stanley and Stanford's faces, mirroring each other vertically.
You'll probably want to watch the special _Between the Pines_ featuring Alex Hirsch being interviewed by Time Baby. Also there is a great video about the "Big Cipher Hunt" that Alex organised for fans of the show, following the final episode. And if you don't have it already, absolutely get the real-life _Journal #3,_ which is chock-full of fun extra material. It has all the pages we saw in the show, in much greater detail, and *_so much_* more: Stanford's original journal entries, followed by his descent into paranoia, then Dipper's entries about all the episodes from his perspective (and occasionally Mabel's), then Stanford again, after his return, chronicling some of his adventures in the multiverse.
Thank you so much for sharing your journey through _Gravity Falls_ with us! It was wonderful re-living it through your eyes. I'm definitely staying subscribed - after all, I haven't fully caught up to the end of _The Owl House_ yet, and after that I have _She-Ra_ to look forward to, and whatever you decide to tackle next!

The shot of the Bill statue at the end was actually a teaser for an ARG (alternate reality game) to find the statue IRL that started shortly after the show finished airing. Clues, puzzles, GPS coordinates, scattered all over the US. You can find some uploaded home video of some of the sleuthing if you look hard enough.
Oh yeaaas, it was my favorite content after the show ended. The worldwide treasure hunt was sooooooo coooool !!!
the most heartbreaking thing for me is seeing stan and ford sailing on the boat like they imagined in the childhood. it took so long for them to reunit, they came through enormous things without each other... stan was struggling to help his brother for 30 years, ford got trust issues and traumas bc of bill, and they still couldn't talk to each other properly... seeing them happy after all this shit is so... idk how to explain... but i cried too much bc of them...
the best written characters in gravity falls, imho.
That's a wonderful scene indeed. That just gives me a big stupid smile seeing the Kings of New Jersey back together.
My personal favorite moment with those two is after the bus leaves, Stan frowns. I think a part of him is thinking "Home is going to be very quiet." Then Ford puts his arm around him and that reminds him that he's not alone any more; he's got his brother back.
Sixty degrees that come in threes.

Blame the arson for the fire.
If he wants to shirk the blame,
He'll have to invoke my name.
One way to absolve his crime.
A different form, a different time.

One little detail a lot of people miss: the final shot of the bus before the credits appears to show it heading toward Gravity Falls (because it's heading toward the water tower). So the last shot could be of them returning the next summer.
So, for the 10th anniversary of the show, Alex Hirsch released a bunch of stuff, including a recording of him singing that "we'll meet again" song in all the voices of the characters he voiced on the show. He also released a bunch of the back and forth he had with Disney S&P sbout certain things in the show that were "not S&P approved". Both are pretty cool to watch.
And the joke in the Summerween's party "Not aproved by S&P", where they plays the bottle game😂
What an epic reaction series! Thank you so much! I can't wait to see you get through She-Ra.
My favorite Gravity Falls moment is when I odered the Limited edition boxed set of the show. Without telling any-one, Shout Factory included a replica of the letter that Wendy Gives to Dipper at the end of this episode. It's easily the best little bonus I've ever seen. I swear it's the only time I've choked up when opening a DVD set...
I need something like that. Where'd you buy it?
Mabel’s stubbornness being used for good to bring Stan’s memory back.
My heart... it hurts... 😢
fun fact: Wendy have been associated with ice since the beginning, as Dipper was fetching a bag of ice twice, and both time were for Wendy ^^ . surprised I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, must have missed them
my favorite episode was most likely s2ep10 "not what he seems" tho ep8 of that same season, the northwest mansion ghost, is also a strong contender
And that episode, it's the reason for the born of Ships' GOATS in the series
19:41 😂 For Someone Who Claims To See Everything, Bill Sure Didn't See That Coming! 🤣
18:47 There’s lore outside of the show, where Stanford Pines’s time in the multiverse and Bill Cipher’s story before meeting Stanford, that pretty much explains why the circle was never going to work. Stanley Pines is The Chosen One 😂
"See you next summer" was over 8 years ago... And it still makes me cry, too. Or as Stan would say "I've got 'XYZ' in my eye!"
Funny you mention Over the Garden Wall. Jason Ritter, who voices Dipper, is married to Melanie Lynskey, who voiced Beatrice the Bluebird.
That bubble around the town is a life-saver. Only reason Bill needed Dipper and Mabel alive was for leverage.
17:25: Stan was so frustrating in this scene. XD
both were understandable Stan he was frustrated and was mad because he spent 30 years trying to bring his brother back and the first thing his brother does is punch him and yell at him for doing it not only that he never showed gratitude to it and we're talking a lifetime THIRTY YEARS every day helplessly trying to bring him back and what he gets back? Getting blamed
I also get Ford in the book the moment the portal brang him back he was this close to shooting Bill with his destabilizer (wouldn't have worked anyway since it was fated stanley would be the one to defeat Bill but when Ford figured this out from some lady monster that's like that opposite of Bill and is trying to stop him they both thought it was Ford instead wich added to his hero complex) both sides are reasonable but both are quite dumb to risk such a thing because ur mad at the other
The last bit with the life action footage of the Bill statue was a hint at an irl global scavenger hunt that fans could join/do after the series concluded which eventually lead to the position of said Bill statue
(it had to be moved since then though because, if I remember correctly, it happened to be placed on private property or something)
If you pay attention during the credits you can see that one of the photos shows the surviving Dipper clones 3 and 4, the ones that had stolen Robbie's bike and never returned to the Shack afterwards, it's good to know that they're still out there and managing to dodge the rain and stuff :)
Also, I believe it's in the real life Journal 3 you can buy where it's revealed that Bill didn't actually manage to kill Time Baby, not really, it eventually recovered and threw a tantrum (which, I believe is supposed to be the Time War that Dipper and Mabel ended up in when they traveled to the future during the Time Traveler's Pig)
This ending has held a special place in my heart for the emotions it makes me feel, a feel that has only ever been surpassed by Amphibia when it comes to shows. As for my favourite episode it's definitely Northwest Mansion Mystery.
Remember that episode when soos put on stans hat and said "one day."Then he takes over the mistery shake.
Stan’s memory erasure and the ending sequence get me every time 😭 such a great ending to a great series. Either this episode or Not What He Seems are my favorite.
I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we appreciate the content, your reactions were great to watch. I love seeing people get into this series even over a decade later, Gravity Falls will never die
29:55 Voiced by Kyle MacLachlan, aka Agent Cooper of Twin Peaks, a major influence on the show.
Thanks for the ride, Mosco!!
As Bill was dying he was actually speaking in reverse!
A-X-O-L-O-T-L, my time has come to burn! I invoke the ancient power that I may return!
There was a Gravity falls choose your own adventure book that released after the series was over. In it, Dipper and Mabel met a extra dimensional being that was basically a giant Axolotl. When asked about Bill, they replied:
"Sixty degrees that come in threes.
Watches from within birch trees.
Saw his own dimension burn.
Misses home and can't return.
Says he's happy. He's a liar.
Blame the arson for the fire.
If he wants to shirk the blame,
He'll have to invoke my name.
One way to absolve his crime.
A different form, a different time."
Trivia: Axolotls are named after the Aztec god Xolotl, the twin brother of the Sun God, Quetzalcoatl. Xolotl was, among other things, the God of the Dead, God of Twins, God of Deformities and the God of Monsters.
This is honestly one of my favourite finales ever. It's like the perfect culmination of the series. Even things you never would have expected to see again come back, it has an amazing remix of the main theme, they even seem to make up with a lot of the characters they made enemies with. Also turning the Mystery Shack into an anime mecha is so out there and I love it. There's just so much to love here. And Bill is one of my favourite villains. He's just so delightfully creepy and hilarious. I love a villain that's both funny and genuinely menacing. I love this little Eldritch Dorito. It's also gonna be weird when I rewatch Owl House after hearing Bill again. Anyways, this finale is a great end to a great series.
The letter at the end saying 'See you next summer" hit me just as hard as the 1st time I saw the Finale. I cried like a baby, but it was beautiful 😭❤
Hearing and seeing the credits to this episode still melts my heart! If you play Bill's final words backwards, you can still see that bill knows about Amphibia, a series that came by years later...
One big theory about Stan recovering his memory is hinted at when you play Bill's final words backwards. Enjoy the final mystery of Gravity Falls.
Fun fact, there was a *massive* ARG that ran after Gravity Falls ended, that culminated in players finding the actual statue of Bill Cipher's body. I was among the ones who was able to shake Bill's hand, before the statue was placed up on display. One of my proudest moments.

Something I really loved was when the series ended, Alex began Cypher Hunt. A scavenger hunt that spanned worldwide, with clues pointing to things in different countries. It led to the Bill Statue with a box of extra Easter eggs.
remember in dreamscapers what bill called them?
Question Mark, Shooting Star, Pine Tree
Dippers last speech has been burned into my memory ever since I first watched this show.
I think the codes at the end were the first clues to a global scavenger hunt wich led to the real life Bill Cifer statue we saw at the end. There´s a video where he talks about it. He even bribed a young kid who saw him unload the statue and posted a photo. He gave the kid who was no GF fan 10$ to take the photo down.
It’s so hard to look back at Tourist Trapped after watching this😢
This show has meant so much to me. I didn't start watching until after the Northwest Mansion Mystery, but experiencing NWHS and the rest of the show in real time, all the while as a young teen who loved mysteries, riddles, and the supernatural... even if it's not perfect, it's one of my favorite shows of all time.
As one last detail (others have already mentioned the Bill Statue ARG), the bus driver in the last scene is voiced by Kyle Merritt MacLachlan, who played Agent Dale Cooper in Twin Peaks, which was a major inspiration for this show. How things have come full circle.
22:43 "A-X-O-L-O-T-L my time has come to burn, i invoke the ancient power that i may return!"
As fans followed the series and decoded, we had the magic circle part figured out. We also saw the Stan dies foreshadowing.
After this there was Cypher Hunt. You can see it on RUclips. Alex hid clues to a Tresure and made fans hunt for it rewarding them with the series Pilot. there's also Chibi content, shorts, puppet shorts, recordings made by the voice cast that are out side the show, comics, novels.
lots of ways to keep going.
Also there's a few recordings of Alex singing "We'll meet again "
I can’t wait! Let the chaos continue, and then come to an end…
In the official journal 3 book when everything was fixed the journals were restored but with the knowledge they contain they were thrown into the bottomless pit which was stated that people come back up but object could end up anywhere. The last page says the book was found in the forest in Oregon with an unknown origin. This implies the books ended up here in our world for us to find it

22:45 what he said was, A.X.O.L.O.T.L my time has come to burn, I invoke thy ancient power so i may return. This is where that theory, that King of Owl House is Bill reincarnated, comes from
I live in Oregon and proudly have a Gravity Falls bumper sticker ❤️ thanks for letting us come on this ride with you 🌲
And thus, we come to an end. I hope the two stans went on a wonderful journey, that Soos became a great shack owner, Blubbs and Durland became the gay icons of rural Oregon, and that A X O L O T L will change Bill's mind.
Gravity Falls was a steadfast delight of my childhood and it will never not be legendary
I watched most of Gravity Falls with my brother, but by the time this episode released, I was studying abroad, and at that point being an ocean across and haven't seeing him in a few months, it hit me harder watching this while being more separated from my brother than I've ever been
What a series finale!! It still makes me tear up every time, even after all these years since its original airing. Lovely reaction to not only this episode but the entire show!
“See you next summer” was the BIGGEST lie I have heard bro😭😭
28:43 Congratulations Soos! 😄👏 Mr. Mystery!
Seeing you concentrate instantly made me think of the Kronk meme & the other meme with all the math around the chicks head lol.
Oh yeah it's all coming together.
I really wish we could get a reunion movie type thing, just to see how life treated them all after Bill if nothing else
Lost Legends confirms that Dipper will write his own diary, that's something
Ever watched Amphibia?
One animation error I notice all the time, 5:50, Dipper, Mabel, Soos and Wendy huddle around McGuckit, the camera pans over to Stanley, and we see a second Wendy standing in frame.
7:40, Ford: "But you can't enter my mind, unless I shack your hand and let you in!", this is also mentioned in the real life journal.
I love the theme song during the hench-maniac showdown too.
At the point they screwup the prophecy, then Bill, says "Hey Gideon, why aren't you dancing", And "This is just too perfect", is where the episode cuts when Disney aired the episode as two separate episodes to a total of 21 episodes.
The last episode is two jammed together that aired as one. "Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls" and "Weirdmageddon 4: Somewhere in The Woods" As such there's codes for both.

IMPORTANT INFO: If you follow a series of clues, they lead you to a website revealing lore on Bill where he once met an axolotl deity who realized he was secretly unhappy with his chaotic life and offered him a new one, but Bill rejected the offer at the time. But if you play Bill's final words backwards, you can hear him accept the deity's offer. Follow another set of clues, and it's very heavily implied that because accepted the offer, he was reincarnated into King from The Owl House (the two are confirmed to share a universe; same human world). Haven't you noticed that out of all the different voices Alex Hirsch does, Bill and King's voices are exactly the same?
There were so many non-kid friendly things in the show (the "Saskrotch", switching all the orifices in Mr. Northwest's face, the background screaming as Weirdmageddon begins. . .) that we really wondered if the Disney suits ever watched the show and knew what was going on with it!
You've seen Owl House and now Gravity Falls, the last in the unofficial trilogy would be Amphibia.
This was a great finale to a great show. Like a lot of people I was pissed at Stan for ruining the circle ritual but he helped defeat Bill so I can't hold that against him TOO much.
Your reactions are a blast, especially the angry rants and analyzing moments! xD I can't wait to see the Infinity Train ones! The ending gets to me every time, I wish I watched Gravity Falls when it was coming out, mainly because of the clues, mystery and cyphers. Such a wonderful series!

But I know we’ll meet again some sunny day!
Goodbye Gravity Falls…
On the subject of Bill "liberating" his home dimension, Alex Hirsch once did a Q and A in character as Bill. When someone asked about his origins he (Bill) replied "Edwin Abbott Abbott has a decent idea". If you didn't know Edwin A. Abbott is the author of flatland, a classic novel about a 2 dimensional world where all the inhabitants are shapes and the number of sides you have dictates your social status. In this system, triangles are the workers and the soldiers, do with that information what you will
Something new I spotted this time around: the order of the icons on the zodiac wheel in the title card - what Mosco pauses on at 9:46 - is different to the order on the zodiac wheel in the episode proper. In the title card version, the llama is between the six-fingered hand (Ford) and shooting star (Mabel).
The order doesn't mean something. If so, Dipper would be at Pacifica's side. not from Wendy's
You know it was a good show when its end alone is enough to bring you to tears 😢
that stone statue of bill is real. its in the woods of oregon somewhere
32:50 M+M is actually referencing the Stanford + Stanley from “a tale of two Stans” because Dipper is just a nickname he got from his forehead constellation and his real name is Mason he just uses Dipper because he finds Mason to be embarrassing
Thanks for the series! I think you were only at the very beginning when I first found your channel (I think you originally popped up for me after we both started Over the Garden Wall right around the same time!)
I remember just being devastated when this was over. Even though this was just two seasons the multiple hiatuses kept this one running for a long time, it felt like. What a great series to sort of kick off the TV animation renaissance we're still living through!
The backward talk that bill says is " axolotl, my time has come. I invoke the power so I may return". In an official adventure book Dipper and Mabel meets this axolotl and asks about Bill, it stated that bill was reincarnated in another form at another time. When we only had season one of the owl house fans theorized that King was Bill.
I saw a video theorizing that Bill was another Owl House character. The old Titan Hunter who is also named Bill.
Fun fact about last slides of episodes when put together they become a part of an arg where winners found a real life bill cipher statue
Here's something to think about: if Stan's memories can come back, what about Bill?
That final shot of the Bill statue was REAL! Once the show ended, Alex Hirsch had one last mystery for the fans: A worldwide scavenger hunt to find the actual Bill Cipher statue! It was a huge undertaking from both Alex Hirsch (he funded and put together the whole thing personally, the network had nothing to do with it) and the fans who went along the journey. RUclipsr blameitonjorge did an excellent documentary chronicling the whole "Cipher Hunt", so maybe you could do a reaction to it!
6:14 A song with a lot of history behind it. Ever seen Dr. Strangelove?
What an epic ending! I am supprised you were so mad at Ford too he openly admited that it was his fault and begged Stan for help fixing it. He instantly swallowed his pride and said thank you when Stan asked. How was he supposed to know that correcting Stan's grammer would make him mad enough to put the world in danger? In fact what I had long overlooked is it was Stan was at least as responsible for causing the mess since that was why Ford was mad about him re activating the portal but unlike Ford he never took responsiblity and blamed only Ford for causing all this so it makes sense he was the one who needed a redemption. I also can't believe I knew that Time Baby was frozen in the Arctic but it didn't occur to me until now what it was Ford was detecting at the end!
Bill's last words backwards "Axolotol my time has come to burn. I envoke the acient power so that I may return!"
Remember Bill's words: "We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when."
There's a theory that Bill's still in Stan's mind because they brought all the other memories back.
Not me and my boyfriend sobbing alongside you. We love this show so much and watching your reactions was so much fun!! Can't wait to see what else you will react to in the future (: much love!
Trivia: Axolotls are named after the Aztec god Xolotl, the twin brother of the Sun God, Quetzalcoatl. Xolotl was, among other things, the God of the Dead, God of Twins, God of Deformities and the God of Monsters.
The finale was awesome and emotional. The battles were epic, especially how Stan sacrifices his life to save the world and defeating Bill. I would like to thank Alex Hirsch for making this show unforgettable
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥🔥🔥😭😭😭
One of the best finales in Disney channel history. I really hope we get a third season one day.
Gravity Falls is truly one of the most special shows in animated history. It kickstarted the more "grown up" style of kids animated storytelling that is prevalent in "Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated", "Amphibia", "The Owl House", and many more.
It also took the leap for other kids shows going at the time to start going to more serious and darker/more mature subjects, as with "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" being much grittier during its third season and onwards, the writers specifically citing this show as their inspiration for taking that step.
Alex Hirsch really turned the tide for kid's animation, and this show is by far his greatest work in full [Though the Owl House will always have a more personal bias attached to it for me].
I have a yearly tradition to watch this show from beginning to end every summer. But I thought I'd catch this series with you even though it's messed with that traditional schedule. This was the series that started me watching the channel, and though I'm sad to see it go, know that I'm gonna stick around for as long as you're running it.
In Due Time.
Trick is, don't be sad because it's over. Be happy that it existed. Because it really was a close thing at times, from what I've heard about the production.
This is the best way you end a series. I have a lot of favorite parts, but I think the scene that is my favorite (besides seeing Stan punch Bill into confetti) is the moment when Ford puts his arm over Stan's shoulder just after the bus leaves. It shows their bond has healed, and they are there for each other.
A note from Book of Bill: That line between Dipper and Mable "Ready to head off into the unknown?" "Nope. Let's do it." has VERY deep meaning when you find out the reason Dipper and Mable were sent to Gravity Falls in the first place was because their parents were fighting and prepping for divorce.
A note from Journal 3: Dipper wrote a passage how in the week leading up to the twins birthday, Ford stuck by Stan's side showing him old home movies of them growing up and reminding him of their time growing up to help Stan's mind recover. We kinda have a nod to that in the credits I think.
I can't remember exactly what is was but Bill says something backwards right before he shouts "Stanley!" and gets punched at the end. Something about evoking ancient magic to return.
I know im about a year late but i did scroll through a good few comments before deciding to mention that the intro whisper says "Goodbye Gravity Falls"
I really needed this, I had just a series of unfortunate events recently and your videos always manage to light up my day. Thank you!🥰✨
I started watching your channel because of Gravity Falls, it's extra weird seeing you finally finish it. I know you were not the biggest fan of Mabel, but I'm glad you enjoyed the show overall. It still stands as one of my favorite shows of all time, and I'm glad I could watch the end yet again with someone whose reactions I really like.
I'll be on the lookout for your future reactions series. Haste to back!
The reveal of the note at the end still tears me up. Your reaction to that was mine on my first watch. Such a tears of happy but sad moment.
“Guys? Seriously? You had like, ONE JOB to do here” is probably one of my favorite Bill quotes
This episode always makes me cry like a baby, basically from the moment Stan and Ford come up with their plan to erase Stan's memory to the end of the episode. :(
I’m pretty sure the statue in the end was hint to an arg Alex Hirchs did after the show with the arg ending to an irl version of the statue. I can’t say this for sure, but that’s atleast what I think it is
