This is my nephew second year in the band and I can't thank JSU enough. It's been like sending him to the military and college all wrapped in one. Much love from Atlanta GA!
The concert, symphonic bands and wind ensemble are the major performing groups from the marching band. Performing in these bands raise the level of musicality in the marching band.

Dear JSU...
Attending JSU has been my dream for a long time. Unfortunately, I went through a traumatic event at the beginning of my senior year. Leading me to have depression and PTSD. During that time I had so much pain that I gave up on everything in my life. I nearly didn't graduate. I now lost my dream of going to JSU and becoming part of the WT drumline on quints section. I love JSU with all my heart. I am from Los Angeles California and Im far but this university is my world. It is what served as a cope mechanism for my trauma. It hurt seeing my two friends from my high school here in LA go to Southern University. I wanted to be the first one to attend JSU. Everyone in our band is proud of my friends because both of them went to SU and other two went to UAPB. I wanted JSU. I am 19 and I hope I can one day, if I can go there and make my dream come true.

JSU concert band has the orchestra sound. The arrangements and tone clarity is amazing.
I have a long way to go before my little one gets a chance to march with this band, but he’s been claiming JSU since 2013. He finally got several chances this season to see them in person and it has just done something serious to his musicianship. This program is absolutely amazing!
