    have been watching your videos for a good while. What amazes me is how one person can salvage a boat the way you do. Obviously it take years to learn how to do this and of course having the right equipment

    I had a construction company in florida. Homeowners were the worst. I even put in my contracts that if the owner or a representative of the owner stopped work for any reason other than safety work would resume only apon receipt of a $1000 cashier's check. Customer preformance clause is what we called it. I never recieved a check.

    Yeah man, I feel your enthusiasm as you talk about having to get, "In there"...... lol, some days are like this, huh? This "Gent" has
    not seen the Quint 450Racing motors running out the Miami River outlet..... some fast boats but every time I've lived around the
    coast there's always this "dark group" of insurance scam types who are doing all sorts of stuff. I've been offered engines & stuff
    from these type of deals but I always said, "No thank you" ! It'd be my luck in buying a motor cheap that it would be stolen & I'd
    lose my motor & my money too. Did you say there were 2,200 boats damaged & waiting for work now? And the server went
    down? Wow wee, lots of business. Nasty business & I hope you have the same positive outlook for all of them. peace

    Why would this get salvaged? Is it the cost of cleanup or can there be other damage like wiring that exceeds the cost of the boat?

    • @jimruder9133
      @jimruder9133 Месяц назад +3

      Salvage in this case does not mean totaled. Its a legal term in maritime law and in the case of Tow Boat US it means it falls outside the contracted services (Assuming they are a member for Towing). Because of the peril involved to the boat, environment and crew it is considered a Salvage. Not knowing the rates for Capt. Ken my guess is that Tow Boat and the owner agreed on a price for salvage in advance and Tow Boat US, assuming the owner has proper insurance, will bill the insurance company. This type of salvage could be as little as 100-200 per foot or up to 1/3 the value of the boat.
