For people commenting that the bride doesn't look happy.....this takes place at the end of the wedding, so it's at least eight hours after the celebration started. Everybody there, including the bride and groom, has been dancing all night already. The dance is part of the celebration, but it also has a religious purpose - you can hear the singer say that God will be dancing with them for this dance. There's a Jewish belief that people have a special connection to God on their wedding day - people will come to the bride and ask for her blessing or ask her to pray for them all evening. So while the couple dances, they focus on the requests they received throughout the wedding to kind of "share" the requests with God. There's plenty of joyful, exciting dances during a wedding, but this is different. If nothing else, it's the only time you will ever see a husband and wife dance together while holding hands in public.

Plus the couple may not know each other well. Most Hasidic marriages are arranged. There are a lot of emotions and anxiety involved on a wedding day. People are out of their comfort zone. Best wishes to the young couple as they embark on a life together as husband and wife. May they have a long and happy marriage together and lots of children.

Thank you for explanation- I also went back and viewed more of this wedding - I now have a better understanding of it - may have been something that wasn’t ideal for all of them but still a tradition . The rest of the videos that I have seen are amazing , and the love and happiness of this day is real ! Congratulations to you and your loved ones - and thank you for all of the input .

This is a very beautiful highly emotional and very meaningful dance, held at the very end of the wedding. It is the only time the couple dances together. You heard the poet was singing a beautiful poem, and the couple started dancing towards the end of the poem, and then he continued singing.

Thank you for your kind words! 😊
Is this an arranged marriage? Do the bride and groom know each other?
While our community often facilitates introductions through families or matchmakers, the bride and groom do meet and decide whether to move forward with the relationship. It’s a mutual decision based on shared values and compatibility.
What are the hats called and what is their significance?
The hats are called shtreimels, traditionally worn by Chassidic men on Shabbat and festive occasions like weddings. They symbolize honor and joy in our tradition.
I’m glad you enjoyed watching and loved the music-it means a lot to share this moment with others! 😊

English: The hats are part of the traditional attire worn by men in Hasidic communities. For example, the groom is wearing a "shtreimel," a fur hat typically worn by married men in certain Hasidic groups, including Satmar. It's a symbol of respect and honor, especially during special occasions like weddings. Women in the community typically cover their hair after marriage, either with a sheitel (wig) or a kerchief, as a sign of modesty.

Of course, Mazel Tov! I visited Israel many years ago and remember a few various celebrations. At first it was surprising to watch only men dancing, then i got used to it. It was always amazing how Israeli people respect their traditions. I admire them for that. Some men are very handsome while jewish girls are not very attractive, though some of them are stunning. Mazel tov, to this couple!

Women are definitely dancing in another area of the room separated by a Mechitza. They won't video/post the women dancing for modestly purposes, but they are definitely dancing. The girl is probably exhausted at this point having danced for hours and likely did not eat that much.

The women do dance, in a separate building or room. Traditionally the groom does not know his wife's face until the morning after the consummation. Big surprise!

@@keithhawthorne5630 Not sure where you get your info. Jewish law does not allow marriage unless the man has seen the womans face at least once before marriage. And dancing is usually in the same room with a divider down the middle.

      Response in English:
Thank you for your comment! 😊 In our tradition, men and women celebrate separately, allowing both groups to freely express themselves and enjoy the festivities in their own way. On the men’s side, you see a lot of dancing and joy, but the same is true on the women’s side! In fact, I have a video on my channel specifically showing the women’s dancing and celebrations. Ironically, there are comments on that video complaining about the lack of men or claiming the video is immodest. It’s fascinating how perceptions of culture and tradition can vary so much. Every celebration is an opportunity to express gratitude and joy in our own unique way. Thank you for taking the time to watch and share your thoughts!
