I'm so happy I found this video ! Thank You for deciding to post this video 6 years later great simple process with posh results . I'm making a bench using three high chairs from the thift store.
This is the way I thought all tufted headboards are done, but in real life, ppl do the wholes on the board and foam. Too much work. Love your way. Thank you.
Great project. My best upholstery projects have been done while kneeling on the board over the foam. It helps compress the foam so you don’t have to pull as much on the fabric. When you get off of the board, you will find that the compression was just about perfect.
Upholstering is something I’d love to do. I actually have a mate who’s a retired upholsterer but I haven’t had a chance to hang out with him to learn from him. This video was very helpful thanks. More please.
Dude, sheer genius!!! I've seen many upholstering videos, but this is bye far the simplest, most straight forward, no nonsense getting it done one that I've come across!! And the results look just as good as if you were to do it the correct(difficult) way!! Hope all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!!
My wife has really been getting into liking tufting . She may be asking for me to make something with it and your video is the answer. Great video as always Elisha!! Btw.... I kept a lookout for the walker! 😜🤪
Great job. I'm watching your channel just briefly, but you have practical and simple creations. You're one of the few women charmed by woodworking. Hat down and look forward to your next video. A fan from Slovakia.
More Upholstery please Elisha, it's an affordable way to make dramatic looks when funds are tied up!!! It's always delightful to watch and listen to you address and complete projects, keep'em coming, keep shining & Stay Strong ✊MUAH
Out standing bench. Could you use cleats on the bottom of the seat to hold the legs? Maybe not even glue the legs together for a more compact folded up bench for moving? Showing how to make the tufts will make building my wife her new headboard that much easier. Thanks for doing this video.
Been wanting to do upholstery on some of my projects but always been a little intimidated. But watching you make it look so easy, I might have to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing. 👍😎
So simple, but looks amazing and beautiful, thank you for showing and sharing your tips of knowledge, and love your channel. Tare care and have a wonderful weekend.
I think the only thing I would improve on this is adding some form of under fabric to hide the staples and wooden underside of the seat, fabric spray glue is great for this 👍🏼.
PA, As always a great project along with an excellent narrative.... Is your new home going to have designated space for a nice new shop for you??? My bet is it probably will.... Keep up the great content.... 😊
Wow - cool solution! Can I suggest that some thickened epoxy (like West Systems G/Flex) might be a more permanent solution to attach the button heads? I know you said your hot-glue solution has held up well, but I've never had good luck with it.
Awesome video..! Thanks for sharing the easy method... I would like to know if I can use this method on faux leather/vinyl leather without tearing the material..?? Was thinking of making a tufted Cal king headboard with closer tufts.. Thank you in advance..! :)
What a fantastic trick. One question do you drive the self tapping screw down in reverse until you get to the wood and then switch to forward... or just drive in forward all the way down? Curious because fabric foam and, in particular, Batting tends to get twisted up if you drive through it.
Pretty cool bench. nice tip on how to tufted. Question on the bottom of the bench legs are you going to put anything on them? Thanks again for the video.
for the items used in the video, you can add a picture of info of the item you use, like saw, which brand, glue which glue, by this way i can get all details
I built my daughter a small rolling chest for her room and she wants a pillow top so that she can use it as a seat. This is going to be perfect thank you so much.

Color me inspired! RUclips is better than pinterest and you're one of the reasons! Can't wait to see more when you get settled in at your new place.
Clay Plemons great point!

Another winner. Who knew it could be that easy to upholster that way. Thank you.

The screw idea is really cool.
I love how the video started
This was such a cool watch! I love upholstery and it was absolutely mind blowing to see how it’s done!
Great video! Now I want to look up how traditional tufting is done. Would love more upholstery videos.
Thank you! i was searching for this easy technique.
I am making one tomorrow! So inspired ✨
Cool project and the design is nice.

That was a nice trick with the buttons
So simple, but looks amazing and beautiful, thank you for showing and sharing your tips of knowledge, and love your channel. Tare care and have a wonderful weekend.
Awesome job Elisha! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
I like an x-acto knife for cutting the foam. You do have to cut through a couple times, but it leaves a very clean cut, right against the strait edge.
I can definitely use this idea to make a hanging headboard!! Wonderful!!
Love your hair color and good job on the bench btw
Thank you for a practical and beautiful idea. I admire and love your work.

I'm so glad to hear that! I'd love to see what you make
Looks like a really easy way to tuft. Is there a two-piece button available that you can screw the bottom to the seat and pop the top on afterwards?
Thank you so mush
Good work . I wish I was with you now
Love your videos. I need new blades and notice the Db blades you use on your saws. Whats the tooth count on the hand saw and table saw?
Gonna do this but with hairpin legs for a mid-century look. Cheers.
very slick!
