Wonderful presentation, Laura! I am Greek and this is such a regular on our table. It accompanies almost any other dish. I am so glad all these people around the world will experience this taste through your recipe. We Greeks are like you Italians, we love to cook and feed other people!😁🇬🇷🇮🇹
I just LOVE this culinary "cultural appropriation". I'm a Mexican who will try this tonight, please feel free to try any of our dishes... and let me know if you need any help ;)
We have been trying to taste other country food, this weekend we have my daughter's birthday party, this recipe will be a main part of the menu, I have tried it before, hope this Greek recipe goes well and my guests can be delight, thanks Laura.
Pretty much perfect. My wife is Greek and this is a regular on our table, although she always doe's it with chicken portions. We're in England so I have to buy imported Greek olive oil...Italian/Spanish not allowed! Also it has to be Greek oregano which costs a fortune but really does taste so different to Italian! She doesn't do the chilli flakes (unfortunately) and always roasts with the juiced lemon carcasses in the pan, I highly recommend doing that, the taste is amazing.
You are correct 100%, there is a hugd battle over olive oils, greeks use their's, italian's use their's, & spaniards use their's, but the oregano, yes , greek oregano is the best, no doubt.
OMG!!!! These are the most delicious potatoes I have ever eaten, thank you Laura 🥰. It creates an explosion of taste in your mouth. I just finished preparing the dish for our Memorial Day Celebration lunch. So grateful to all of you that paused your life or made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy everyday. May we never take that sacrifice for granted. Happy Memorial Day and thank you to all of our veterans, we are a blessed Nation 😊💜🙏
Laura I cannot begin to tell you how much I love your recipes . I actually made your grandmothers chicken soup tonight . Reminds me of my own grandmothers cooking . I WILL be making this next week , with salmon and a salad . Mouth is watering lol . Thank you so much for your beautiful and delicious recipes , and for the love and time you put into everything you make . There’s so much love in your kitchen and cooking
I feel the same way! Laura is my go-to for awesome, inspired cooking ideas. She knows her stuff, uses solid technique and shows how to cook in a way that makes sense. Turns out incredible looking food made with a lot of love. That's what it's all about!
Not a side...put your chicken on top...wrap in foil...the chicken juices soak into the potatoes...unbelievable. After an hour take the foil off, finish the chicken till cooked through and the skin is crisp, take out and leave to rest while you finish the potatoes. LOTS of crusty bread, a Greek salad and plenty of any white wine that isn't Greek is all you need for a stunning dinner.
@@TheScouseassassin Yes, I have done tings like this before, meaning placing the chicken on top of the potatoes, onions, turnips and other types of vegetables. The juice indeed soak into the veggies. The end result is delicious.
I watched these being made on another channel and they had only very slight variations. One thing that I really was intrigued with....you mentioned those delicious nibbly bits. She left her slightly cooked potatoes in the pot after she drained them, put the lit on the pot and shook it pretty hard for a bit. It made lots and lots of those delicious bits! I really want to try these potatoes.
Since the shut down I have been recreating food at home from some of my favorite restaurants, and the greek potatoes I haven't mastered, until today. I just tried your recipe and it was so easy to make and so delicious! I had to hold myself back from eating the entire batch😆Thank you Laura!
*WoW!* *This is really the king of all recipes* *Greek roasted potatoes, fantastic!* *Can't wait to try it* *Looks really yummy and certainly delicious* *Best wishes for a great weekend*
Hey Laura! You never cease to amaze me with the lovely food that you put out and make each time that you're on here! Those Greek potatoes are on point! They look tasty and would be a great side dish with any grilled meat! Thanks for sharing your recipe! Have a great rest of your week my lovely friend! Be well and stay safe! ❤️🙏🌹
Just made this dish.. It is so good... Will definitely do it again. The only painful thing is that the cleaning of the pan afterward. Had to scrub a bit to get all the burnt and crispy bits off.. But it is so worth it. Thank you.
O my…these Greek Potatoes were outstanding. I made them for a get together and everyone loved them. The next night I had to make them again, just for myself. A Greek Salad, some Tzatziki sauce and these potatoes is all I want to eat now. Thank you for this recipe.
😄someone recently gave us 3 whole bags of potatoes and had no idea what to cook! So I'm excited as heck to make this now! Thank you so much for uploading this!
I live in Crete which is a big island in Greece 🇬🇷. I love your recipes, especially when they have to do with spaghetti-pasta.💕 I could live by eating only these. 🍝 Kisses😚😚😄🤩🤗
I’ve checked and I haven’t seen any videos on it, can you please do a video of how to make basic cheese sauce like to put on vegetables etc. I’m from the U.K❤️❤️❤️been here from the very beginning
Boiling them first definitely saves you a lot of time, however , in Greece we rarely boil them ,just roast them in the oven and they are great. But as I said it' s more time consuming, hardly a quick dish.
Perfect recipe, have done already several times. After trying first time I made slight adjustment - added fresh rosmarino, less lemon juice and no lemon chunks inside ( too much acidity otherwise) and baked at less preheated oven. But it’s my choice :)
Wow 👌 so close to the Syrian recipe but we use garlic marinated in apple vinegar instead of lemon and we use cinnamon and pomegranate sauce and it is super yummy 😋
My grandfather's third marriage was to a Greek woman and she cooked these for any lunch or dinner get together. I don't know why but her potatoes never cooked completely. She would cut them into long wedges . I'm definately going to try your recipe .
English roast potatoes are on my menu at least once per week... if not three nights a week. I think I'm going to try this recipe next time. Tomorrow...

Any good greek olive oil brand you could recommend?

@@ulfbjorn14 Well you know what I mean, juice the lemons but never discard the skin...the oils will cook out and fill the house with such a scent.
@@stevelogan5475 It is but I still use an Italian mix for Lasagne, Ragu etc, I find the Greek stuff a bit overpowering in finer dishes.

Made these last night with fingerling potatoes. Parboiled and then pan-fried in butter and olive oil. Faster than baking and turned out great!

Those Greek roasted potato’s look amazing! Great video!
Love your videos, you inspired me to create my own country cooking channel
This looks delicious!!! Can it be done without boiling first?
I didn’t think they were as good without pre boiling first but you should be fine without it
@@LauraintheKitchen I'm all about cutting corners 😅

Need to put much more water in the pan and maybe cover them for the first 30 minutes
Yesssss, they look so good!! Thank goodness summer never ends in the south 😅
Why do you parboil the potatoes? I make this all the time and I just roast them and they always come out great, just curious ?
Just tried for the first time.. it tastes so good although i think i put too much lemon
I don't eat carbs but I still watch! love ya!!!
Yum. Looks great with the salmon i will be cooking tonight
