He still made it challenger on 4 different roles. Love him or hate him you can't take this from him. Dude's a beast. Also, remember he just started the role. You're acting like he's an lcs midlaner. He was an ADC for a very long time. The whole point of this series was to start a new role and go challenger. He acheived it very fast and I don't think lots of people can do this.

I mean honestly speaking, the fact that you know when to roam, make a successfull roam, are signs of a good player. If a midlaner can execute that well, even while losing his lane in 1v1, he's a good player by definition.
Winning mid lane isn’t even a win condition half the time. Going even but farming your ass off or effecting the map objectives is huge. I used to think this was the noob way to play. Just push wave and leave. But if your opponent is just as good as you are how are u gonna win lane? Wait for jungle? Just win in exp.
I mean you see it all the time in all elos where people coinflip roam and it often works. Its more difficult to win lane the way chovy does but it's unfortunately not the best way to win your solo queue games.

I think Tyler's top experience helped him extremely in the mid lane challenge and if he did mid first then top he would have been playing mid much longer. It taught him how to 1v1 very well and play the game when you're behind or losing to your opponent because of a skill difference or a matchup. I think people forget how much the skills transfer between roles and that top no doubt made him much better in mid

That is an interesting take on mid lane. When I started learning Qiyana , a one trick told me the best way to learn her is through top lane. He felt that if you can handle being alone despite poor match ups, ganks, etc that you'll crush mid lane.

i've been challenger top lane twice (s6/7) mid twice(s9/10) and jungle once (s11), jungle is the most fun, top the most difficult overall because mistakes are punished more and mid is the lane all eyes are on so you have to be more involved with the team. good job tyler and nice vid Midbeast!
in regards to the 1% a day thing, I am an investor and try to grow my account by 1% a day, think of it this way, if you grow your account, skill, strength, anything by 1% a day (not always possible, but average) you will DOUBLE your account/skill/strength in a mere 70 days. the power of compound growth!

I understand his point though, it's true in a sense that if you HAVE that macro knowledge already, it just becomes a case of "what's easier to win with, mid or top" in which case the answer is 100% mid. No contest. Mid is only "harder" up until that point because you need to have a good understanding of waves and priority, when to roam and when not to, good map awareness etc. Top doesn't require the really good macro that Mid does, and isn't rewarded as heavily for it either, plus matchups there are so much more extreme so you're forced to sit and do nothing or outperform with extreme mechanics if you're in a bad matchup. Bot and Top tend to be much easier to gank too, hence why you very frequently see Junglers camping those lanes rather than Mid.
Mid has a bunch of different challenges in that it can often have nearly as much macro demand as Jungling does, but what I think Tyler is trying to say here is that once you GET all that, which as a challenger he obviously has, Mid is actually easier to win games with than Top.
Mid has more too learn but also more to do too if things start going bad basically

All it takes is one mistake toplane to turn the next 15-30 minutes into an absolute shitshow, sometimes it doesn't even have to your fault, if the enemy jungler comes at an unexpected or bad time, it can completely ruin your game.

Mechanically speaking, I would say that there are more mechanically difficult champs in the top lane, but macro is much more impactful in the mid lane. While the fighting in mid lane is “easier” since you can roam better. It can also be pretty challenging since there is a stronger jungle presence.

I usually play top, but decided to go mid after following what tyler said, and it was so much easier mentally speaking. I didn't have to worry about being counter picked nearly as much, didn't have to worry about jungle, could care less about wave management, and had more gun games even if i may have lost them. In 2 days I went from low silver 2 to gold 4 after being hardstuck silver for months
Yeah I play primarily jungle but I fill any role except top because it's just aggressively unenjoyable to play.

Low key, the judgement for Tyler in the beginning of the game makes me think he watches games more than he plays. Tyler already knows what he's going to do and since he plays strong meta Champs I would've thought its obvious what his plan is. Also, he's constantly acknowledging what his teammates can do rather than being an optimistic monkey. When a teammate does something effective or listens if he communicates its a step forward to knowing if he can work with someone or if its just him. 🤷♂️.

Support is harder. Two people per lane double the mechanics and matchups then add roaming to top or mid in coordination of your jungler. While providing good vision and tabs on summoners and objectives.

Not to troll you, but Rossboomsocks hit diamond in EUW and you think T1 is not as good as him? I love Ross, but he's not even in the same realm of League skill as T1 XD
T1 could probably hit challenger in any region, because its more about the grind than the challenge. 600 games in mid for NA might be 3k games in a better region, but he learns quick and adapts. That's his best skill tbh.

Well before any fanbaoys start to flame,I just wanna clarify that I enjoy watching T1 a lot but on every role that he has challenger on other than botlane is basically him facilitating the wins,he was never a carry on any other role..He has a great mantle and that's his strength he plays a lot and that's what makes him climb...He makes the carry carry the game properly (Jungle--->Ivern, Top----->tanks.mid-----> Annie),only time that he has ever carried games are when is either on Irelia or Draven..I am not saying that he doesn't deserve Challenger...I am just saying he is really good at that playstyle and being a streamer his teams give their best often (their are trolls as well) but yeah that's that

Not true, t1 has carried many games with many different champions how else would he climb to challenger in all roles? At a certain point you are literally forced to carry, he didn’t get there by chance or luck.
