    We are sending Handoff from one RTU to another using Modbus RS232 connection to the RTU but we have it communicating through a B&B Radio. The RTU that is receiving the data is setup as the Master. what could be causing the Data to constantly change in the registers. we should be receiving 32bit floating points. Thanks

    You are presented with an instrument with no Ethernet or wireless connections and looks to only have a single 9 pin D-Sub, what do you think you are going to need to connect the instrument to the SCADA system network? Any Advice ...plz

      First of all I will verify if this device can communicate with the MODBUS protocol (They usually do, since this is an open source protocol). Then I will have to know the Modbus communication parameters of the device (Baud rate, Stop bit, Parity, & Modbus address), then I will have to know the Modbus address you would like to read or write to using your SCADA system (Delta PLCs use address like M3 or D4 or C6 or X2 or Y4, but went referring to Modbus addresses you use its corresponding Modbus address: Example: M0 = the Modbus address 002049, C0 = the Modbus address 003585, D0 = the Modbus address 404097. NOTE: The device you like to connect to will let you know, in their user manual, the Modbus addresses table were the Device stores it Registers, relays, counters, timers.)
      With that information you have many option to connect to your device.
      1.- If the connection to the SCADA network is less than a couple of feet, just use a USB to Serial converter to connect to your device using the MODBUS protocol
      2.- If the connection is greater but less than 4000 feet, use a USB to RS485 converter (Example: The Delta IF6500)
      3.- If you need to connect you device using an Ethernet connection, and your SCADA network can communicate directly to a MODBUS device, use a Serial Server (This will create a virtual serial port on the computer running te SCADA software, use this virtual port to establish the connection as if you were connected directly your device to your computer) you can use the B&B Vlinx Ethernet Serial Server ESP901
      4.- If you like to connect to using EtherNET/IP, DeviceNET, CANopen, PROFIBUS, or BACnet communication, you can use any of the Delta industrial Fieldbus Solutions. (This is the link: www.deltaww.com/en-US/products/Industrial-Fieldbus-Solution/ALL/) Basically this devices connect to your device using MODBUS, they continually collect the registers, counters, or timers you specify and store it on its internal memory. Then using you SCADA network you can collect or white this stored data using any of the above protocols.
      Hope this will help you. Remenmer to read the user manual of your device, it usually gives you good information about that Seral port, and its Pins specification.

    Where I can purchase these transmitter and receiver ?

    • @CristobalBarajas
      @CristobalBarajas 6 лет назад

      You can buy them from:
      www.cdebyte.com/en/
      Or from their Ebay Store. They recoment to buy over the phone to give you a best price.
      I personally thing is safer to buy from Ebay.
      What I like about this company is that they respond fast to any question you may have, ether from the website or Ebay. The only thing I don't like is that it seems every revition they made to a module they change the product name.
      In this video I'm using a E63-DTU, the next revision of the same module is called E61-DTU. Now if you try to buy it it is called E90-DTU.
      Still I like this module.

    what is the ultimate distance ?

    • @CristobalBarajas
      @CristobalBarajas 6 лет назад

      It is not that far of a distance. With a 3dbi antena is about 70 feet at 115200 frequency. I will lower the frequency and install a 10dbi antenna.
      The manufacture says it can connect up to 6km on a 4dbi antenna, with no ostructions and at low frequency.

    What is range for outdoor communication

    • @automationchannel519
      @automationchannel519  Год назад

      with no obstructions using this antenna I was able to connect at 200 feet. others direct or parabolic antennas can make the connection at a greater distance, but this antennas need to be fixed to solid structure.
