He was great live! My legs were sore for at least a week afterwards from stomping so hard, got a chance to see them with the Mary Wallopers! Hope next time he comes down to our home in the Carolinas!
This was amazing, and first time I've seen a Scot on Gems. Brilliant stories, I just found your music and I am not surprised to find out you know Benjamin Todd and Lost Dog. Respect! Please play in Indianapolis some day, I can help. If you have appeared on Gems you've made it! And Pokey, holy shite, no wonder I found you.
I was lucky enough to catch a live show of Sam and The Mary Wallopers when they came through my city, and it was one of the best shows I have seen this year. I want to thank Gems on VHS because they do a great service in introducing all of us to wonderful music that we might not even know exists without their hard work.
im glad you like it. makes things much more efficient for us, cus everyone always be hittin us up sayin "hey were in nashville" and im like damn where tf we gonna film lol
Anthony, so happy to see that format progressing! More songs, more dialogue:) Appreciate all the work that goes into these gems by you and the performers
Superb video! Very much enjoyed that while I’m currently sick and not performing myself at the minute with my banjo over here in Lincoln Uk. Nice to hear Sam is supporting the “Wallopers” and has also with Pokey! Both acts I also follow. Keep up the great work and have you guys ever looked at material by the amazing Clifton Hicks and also Zac Sokolow? Both fantastic old time banjo guys flying the banjo flag proudly over near you. 🤘
I just got a notification from Sam's channel and was pleasantly surprised to see Zac Sokolow too, and when I read the description I found out Zac was in a band called LA LOM and when I checked them out - Zac is a seriously amazing guitarist too.

@GemsOnVHS - he might struggle with a Midwest or west coast accent, but he has southern down solid

Trawler's Lulllaby gives me serious Jimmie Rodgers vibes if you've ever heard of him.
