- this is a Harvestore silo filled with high moisture corn. it has breather bags (lungs) that allow the silo to not build pressure while not transferring oxygen to the corn. one of the old bags gets partially covered in corn and becomes trapped. I use a chain winch to try to pull it out but the rope breaks. somehow I manage to re tie the rope back on 15 foot down into the silo. it was a trick but I couldn't give up . I had to much time already invested. 6 hours later it finally comes free and was able to throw it off the top of the silo. I was completely exhausted from climbing, holding on for dear life and cold from the wind from being up there so long. #loewqualityfarmvideos #farming #harvestore #farmlife
Interesting to watch. Glad you won the struggle against all odds.
Great video Dan Holly Clayton and Callie
This scared the crap out of me!!! Gotta pick and choose which ones i watch! Whol-e-cow!!!
Did this job once, not the cleanest work I've done. Best to do when cilo is full.
Looks like someone forgot to pull up the bag and filled ot to full! It happens
Didn’t really forget but they weren’t hanging totally right and we overfilled it.
@@Drloew1that will do it!
Do you still use all your silos? Your have a ton of them.
Who do you get to do your harvestore work their in Michigan!?
A guy from indiana.
What does the bag do in there ? That was a lot of work
It allows the air tight silo to breathe without oxygen getting to the corn.
We took ours out years ago no effect on silage or dry grain.
@@Drloew1 Thanks I had no idea
We took ours out as well. No different then a sealed concrete silo. They only use a pressure relief valve like the harvestors have for a safety.
Done that before. It sucks. I'm like you. My shoulders are shot plus I had a bad knee. A real pain in the ass
That’s a no for me dawg. Can’t do heights.
