This will be cool when a lot of people can be a part of it and the people understand that in the end it’s just a game. Role playing is one thing, but if being part of an online government causes stress, it immediately defeats the purpose of the game in the first place.
I kinda wonder if some of those ex-military members miss the military structure and that's why that group is the way it is. Nothing to do with enjoying games and making friends, both of which you can do without all that.
They miss basic training, not because they had fun shooting or going through the courses like Jacob's ladder, or rapelling down the tower was cool but they for some reason genuinely miss that the extreme structure and hierarchy that existed.
There was a battlefield clan, led by a 50+ y.o men. Was getting a bit extreme to the point of nazis and stuff. He took it so seriously and started recruiting kids into his clan. I thought it was just a persona, he’s the same irl. Basically everytime he gets owned, the whole clan script kiddies was ordered to ddos the server.
Ex Reaper Lord member here, and the clan was super hard to stay in. It’s already hard to get in, but you can barely keep up. There are meetings IRL and ingame. I was a security guard, and we could not take our eyes off the map. We would stare at the map for about 1-3 hours to watch for enemies. It’s a “good” clan, I guess. I’ve seen so many videos of them getting their ass beat by one person. It makes me laugh that I actually took it seriously. 😂
As someone who had been a part of a crews from 2020-2021. This is how a lot of crews are run. They usually have their sessions at around 6-9pm everyday. Also yes, most of these people are 13 year olds. It's crazy the dedication that people give to a video game I've even had some crewmates be doxxed by other crews

7:55 Experiences are the next big thing (I believe even big A mentioned it) and RP in games has been growing a lot recently, since it isn't just playing, but am *experience*. Sure, people like watching xqc mess around in GTA rp, but there was already a very healthy amount of people doing it for the last few years, same with MMOs and so on. VR may improve this too, but at the very least, RP is something that is becoming more commonplace in online communities. I'm a bit biased as far as my knowledge goes, since I've RPd in MMOs for almost a decade at this point, but I've really seen a massive increase in RP servers in most games. Also, power tripping is big issue in a lot of these communities, especially when they have a more rigid structure like this, and it gets so bad in guilds with *hundreds* of people
I think streamers have shown that "RPing" in games isn't just cringe and for losers and even if you take it serious, which some of them did, you can have a great time that's very different from other games.
12:02 of course the kind of Red Dead player who lazily slaps gold all over their gun and decides "This looks SO badass" is the kind of dude who joins the Reaper Larps.
It can't be.... I would recognize that voice anywhere... Pride?? I thought you had passed in the great war of the Specialists clans? I'm so happy to see you're alive. Come back to 7even Deadly, We've been waiting for you.
Some of the most fun in gaming I've ever had was being in a Milsim half-RP Arma 3 clan. Heavily modded for real guns/vehicles, enemies, uniforms, etc. Even though we set up our fireteams and TaskForceRadio (enables full radio functionality and proximity chat in-game through Teamspeak) and tried our best to mimic actual real combat, it was never as serious as this. We had multiple people in Zeus build us up a mission with AI enemies and we'd spend all night essentially RPing through it, including transport, organization, proper fireteams, long range radio to send for fire support, the works. It was awesome, we'd have 40-50 people in 1 server all the time. You even had to go through basic training to be in the clan. These Lord whatevers give it a bad name. It doesn't have to be this serious. Almost every person in the clan was an older military veteran and honestly they were good people. There were some rules but rarely had to be enforced since most people were there for the same thing, relatively authentic milsim. It made for some amazing moments. Being in a combined armor/infantry division in the game was so insanely fun.
Bro, thats 100% different. At the end of the day, you guys all realize youre just gaming to have fun man. Thats the diff between these guys and fucking arma enjoyers that dont take it so serious that it inhibits dumb funny moments
I’ll have you know I’m a reaper lord so I won’t be paying for my speeding ticket, the service I provide to people goes beyond what I receive and I refuse to pick up a burden on top of all I have.
This is hilarious because for 3 years my dad was a reaper lord and even became the president of the club when they still played gta. If you look it up his tag was lord bowser which is my family’s last name it was super weird because he would have to play for hours in meeting talking about who knows what. he left
Rest in peace to all the old clans I've been apart of. Feel like i never get that kind of community with games i play anymore. Not that i would ever want the crazy community shown in this video.
When I was younger , they had these sort of clans in games like Roblox where I joined the military for the country. And being the goated gamer I was became a spec op that fought with the rest of the military against other countries. There was like thousands of people in these groups and it could be at times 100v100 wars or you could roam around the city of your nation and ‘protect’ the civilians of your nation and as a twelve year old at the time. It was pretty dope and while kinda similar to being a larp it was honestly one of the best gaming experiences I had as a kid even though it’s mostly nostalgia.
Thats cause ur playing a game. Theres a diff here and what you did; people played to have fun and get into it, not do stupid shit like get shot at cause you didnt help enough people. That shit makes 0 sense that even the real fucking military doesnt do it lol
I've had one encounter with the guys. I was riding past and one guy was screaming in their mic "STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!" like bro chill, I am minding my own business.
its not that they love the game, its some personal shit i'm pretty sure they are persued to not play any other games than that one but oh well , they do it at their own wil so fuck them
These guys for sure did 2 months of basic training and then spent the rest of their enlistment working in communications or some other desk job that sees no action. Probably spent that whole time wishing they could get deployed as they barely pass PT.
I was a part of these, not red dead, but the same kind of group in different games. For me personally, it gave me a sense of family when my real family wasn’t doing well together, and it gave me not only an escape, but an escape with order.
This kind of group is fucking cringe lmao. Shit, might as well have joined a real gang cause youd have actual connections for money making, LOOOL Not that I endorse that lmao

Literally just played red dead 2 for the first time yesterday, god damn it atrioc I expected google to invade my privacy but I thought you were better than this
I joined a crew like this one time just to see what they were like. I was getting bossed around and told how to play by level 20s-100 as a level 250+ at the time.
I was in a gaming community on Xbox called KSI at one point, and i remember I became a squad leader of 100 people. We kinda only hung out playing games and we would join COD game battles against other random people, or compete against other squads in KSI. We didnt like roleplay or anything. We were just our normal selves and mostly just played games together.
Lol yeah I remember KSI they were also huge in the Halo 2/early Halo 3 days. My friend’s and I used to scrim against them in game battles as well, you just brought back a flood of memories haha
A 14 year old 100% came up with the name.. I will never knock people for rp but this is just so.. odd, especially when you consider that RDO has a limit of like 25-30 people in a session at once, so they can't possibly be "guarding" anything from anyone except themselves
And even if there was someone there. The voice chat could pick it up anyway, that house has nothing of interest in it so they aren't even guarding anything special
Joined them awhile back. The idea of a RP group in Red Dead sounded great. But after the initial introduction, there was 0 organization. Truth be told, my first assignment was to help out with a talent show. Yes, a “talent show.” After realizing that this group was nothing more than a bunch of adults telling another bunch of adults what to do, when to do it, and how to do it I left the same day. When a game starts to feel like a chore or a job, in essence, that’s where the fun is lost. The whole point of an RP, especially in a game like RD2 needs to encourage and incentivize it’s server players. There has to be a reason why you keep coming back. Otherwise, you’re gonna be spending hours watching grass with nothing to gain from it as per the Reaper Lords. There’s great RP servers out there for those who are looking for something like that. Just gotta look.
They met up outside of the game & one dude had on a reaper lords vest as if he was patched into a biker gamg but he was the only dude wearing one....... SAD
I came across a reaper lord posse grouped together one time and seeing that video months ago and how funny they run their clan I shot a dynamite arrow and rode off to the post office 😂
Yeah it's just unfortunate the reaper lords are cringe here. There are good roleplayers out there just people vibing and playing roles without being awful
Exclusivity isn't necessarily created through an overabundance of quality participants It's the same as a 13 year old putting a "no girls allowed" sign on his room, that doesn't mean that he HAD to make the sign bc girls were breaking down his door, you know?
Well if they are being honest about the numbers, they did allegedly have thousands of applicants. How the hell that's the case is way beyond me though. And I agree that their exclusion criteria is probably incredibly stupid, too. There's no way they actually end up picking the best out of every 100 applicants. Unless by best they just mean "most submissive," which may actually be the case.
@@343Films Sorry the analogy wasn't 100%, I meant more that that's how it FEELS, but realistically the actual issue is that they are being selective for the sake of being selective. Using exclusivity as a marker for success, to gain more applicants, rather than being exclusive because they would be flooded otherwise.
@@Sleeepy. Oh yeah, I gotchu. Totally agree with all that. Meaningless selectivity for selectivity's sake seems to be their MO. And that is kinda sad lol
Welp, you're getting my like today Atrioc. I want these nerds to see this video and realize that they are just a bunch of clowns to the rest of us. Games are meant to be fun, not actual chores. Also, those military guys seem bogus to me. 12 years of service and I barely know anyone who talks or acts like that or will be that submissive in an online setting. I can't stress how many people I had to quiz when they acted like they were military and bring up questions they couldn't google or would know easily and then just stutter and act like they got something important to do. And lastly, going through basic with 30+ other guys, let me tell you I formed a bond of not wanting to let anyone down while also having an extreme hatred for everyone. So many people require you to babysit them and if you try to tell them 'don't do that you're going to get us all jacked up' they narc on you to the others and the rest of the guys think you're a wimp. I can't tell you how many times this dude KNEW taking a cupcake was going to get everyone jacked up and he just look at us and say "You better be ready dog, I'm going to grab another cupcake IDGAF" and every day we'd have to constantly all get punished and it eventually lead to half the damn platoon taking cupcakes and stealing peanut butter or buying monsters at battalion staff duty and hiding them in their lockers. Here is the reality. VERY few people who are good at military life and love it, will get out due to medical reasons outside of control. So when you run into clowns who were in the military and didn't do 10+ years.... they got kicked out or pushed out. Whenever you run into so guy who never shuts up about the military and how amazing it is, those are the people who punked out and think their better than you.
What makes you think they didn't do 10+ years? Why do you think they're clowns? There's clearly a large appeal to it judging by all the applications. They said they had 80 members & you got to hear maybe like five of them so you're basing your entire expectation off that? You seem to have a bad experience but others didn't, my brother did 8 years until he had to leave due to his back & he's still great friends with multiple people he served with.
@@LasermanSteam Would your brother spend 60 hours a week on the worst Rockstar Online mode larping instead of playing with friends to genuinely have fun?
@@LasermanSteam That’s actually a sad assessment because they genuinely think they are having fun and cite the fact they sometimes hang out in real life in addition to playing RDR2 but instead of literally acting like a genuine private military based in a video game they could just hang out in real life and play video games for fun occasionally. You don’t need to reinvent the system of military order you just got out of to make friends with other people who understand and share your experiences. It’s just depressing.
I think the people who do this are the same people that would be susceptible to joining a cult. So this is probably better than that. It’s also probably not worse than forming a one-sided, parasocial relationship with a streamer and tricking your brain into thinking they’re your best friend.
Ran into a group of like 10 players once that all had reper as the first part of their names. Don't know if it's the same group. They were occupying a ranch that I needed to grab something from. There was a guard at the front gate of the ranch. Had an hour long fight with them and had an average 3 kills for each time they killed me. Opened my posse for randoms to join so the randomly would be a distraction. It was a fun fight. These guys were flanking and stuff. They were definitely organized.
Don't forget that the guy who submitted the Reaper Lords vid got banned by Big A's mod Yeti for no reason sadge. Banned because he didn't like the vid then turns around and makes it into a vid CLASSIC edit: the chatters name was Godzhilluh. BIG A #FREEGODZHILLUH
If Red dead online was actually like... player focused and not just a shitty online coop mode with some unique missions and tasks, it could actually be fun to have organized groups. Like imagine a rust type game built in red dead, that would be kickass, getting to read eachothers bases and transporting supplies. But as it is, this is like RPing in unmodded gta lul
I was a world PvP / battlegrounds guild leader in WoW and there's nothing better than 10-20 men smashing the enemy team every time. Shotcalling was all we needed to succeed and I recommend that kind of spare time over any sort of PvE grind or arena grinding.
I remember playing gta5 on ps3 like just a year into the game cycle and I joined a cartel😂 I only lasted like 3 weeks cause I wasn’t on gta 24/7 like them but the funniest thing was I got my cousin to join and then we all had to get together and a modder was apart of our clan so we all had to drive all black pickup trucks then the modder spawned the large pallets of coke in the back of the pickups and we took a giant picture of us all in body armor and specific clothing 😂😂

If you've watched the punisher, there's a character there that's like that

"Its a place for friends" Yeah i dont know very many people who like to punish all their friends if one messes up.
Whitelight's (creator of the video) tone in the video was cheeky for the majority part imo. It makes the original video even funnier.
You made the right choice👍
They met up outside of the game & one dude had on a reaper lords vest as if he was patched into a biker gamg but he was the only dude wearing one....... SAD

Exclusivity isn't necessarily created through an overabundance of quality participants
It's the same as a 13 year old putting a "no girls allowed" sign on his room, that doesn't mean that he HAD to make the sign bc girls were breaking down his door, you know?

@@muridae05 I think those people are having fun. "Would you rather kick a ball around for a few hours instead of genuinely having fun"
