You get so used to seeing a certain image of people in public forums and social media but when you see them in their private life it truly is humbling. I've listened to Type O Negative for years but this is the first time I've ever seen this video. I'll tell you straight up I almost fucking cried! Peter Steele you were an incredible human being! What? What a ridiculous thing to say. The man was not that wealthy, first of all. Who knows how he would have chosen to live if he had more money. He was also not a “celebrity” by any stretch of the imagination. Most people have no idea who this man was. He not wealthy, and only relatively famous (famous for a metal musician, i guess). This is hardly what I’d call a celebrity.
Lastly, you don’t know whether this is his home or not. Maybe this is a friend or relative’s house. Maybe his house is 9000 sq. ft. with all of the luxurious amenities you seem to despise. You have no idea. Yet you chose to venerate this man while mocking an entire group of people who you also don’t know. 🙄

Sometimes the body of long-term users are so broken that they're basically held together by the drug (be it alc, coce, ...), and when those people get clean, their heart gives in... I think this is what happened with Pete. May he rest in peace.

I lost my cat Pazuzu last week (she was only 10 months old). I came across this video and thought "Oh my god Peter Steele loves cats too. I didn't know that." and the fact that one of his songs is about a cat he's had for over a decade makes my heart melt. He knows what it's like to lose any pet, let alone a cat.

I bet his babies were lost without their daddy. Poor things. I hate that he had passed. Pete seemed to carry his heart on his sleeve. And he sure loved his fur babies. They gave him unconditional love. Something he seemed to never get in real life. Idk who broke his heart, but I hope they realize the damage they caused him. Idk how someone could hurt another that way?! I was born and raised in a Christian home. I was saved young and was taught to love everyone, because God loved me first. I still loved his music. My husband had really introduced me to Type O and in love with their music. Although, it was not what i should have listend to, but i could hear the pain in his music. It always hurt me that ppl were so terrible. My husband reminded me of peter. My Husband too had suffered pain from women. And there for many years he took it out on me. I finally told him that he cannot bleed all over the one who didnt cut u. We are good now. I just wish Pete could have found someone who could love him like I love my husband. Everyone deserves that. I pray u all find that kind of love. And I wish u all the best life!! RIP Peter. I hope to meet u one day when its my time or when he comes and takes us all home. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I didn't know Peter Steele loved cats until he passed and came online and people were wondering what happened to his cats .Soon after I found out his sister had them so for many years I've waiting for a video of him with one of his cats to be posted online and today was that day :) RIP Peter Steele always loved Type O Negative finding that you loved cats too was just awesome in its own way !
The song Bloody Kisses (from the album Bloody Kisses) was about Steele dealing with the death of his cat at that time.

This song is absolutely amazing.
Such a gentle giant. I'm learning about this man little by little! He has my kind of humor and a lot of interviews are sad to watch because he seemed like he was dealt a shitload of problems and didn't know how to handle them. Everyone I've talked to who has met him said he was the most down to earth person. Taken from us way too soon.
1999... only met him in passing outside the venue. No words spoken, just a nod and walked away, back to work.
Funny how he taught me how real of a person he was with just that, and how it has stuck with me for 23 years.

Its crazy seeing this and knowing it was weeks before his passing. He looks amazing and sober. It really bums me out. You get right and shit and then you die. Life is cruel and on this day, All hallows eve, i will celebrate his life by spinning all Type O's records.

Lost my sweet kitty in March, only 6 years old. I like to think that he's up somewhere entertaining Peter, and making him crack up. RIP Green Man and RIP Canelo/Floofers.
I know how it feels: had to have my cat euthanized this June..also only 6 years old. I'm sure the green man will take care of them up there!!!
I'm little late to the party, but God I feel you so much buddy.
Don't wanna trauma-dump on you but I've lost my cat best friend 8 months ago from lung cancer and it's still hurt like hell (being a orphan, the loss of my cat was like, the cherry on the top of a shitty depression sundae 😏).
Anyway, the first thing I did after we left the vet clinic was blasting "Bloody Kisses : Death in the family" and bawling my fuckin eyes out, but it feels so weirdly comforting, y'know ? May sounds a bit silly but I like to think that Peter is taking care of our cat-kiddos up there, it's giving me a little bit of courage to keep going.

He said: "I never even realized he was that tall. I went around a corner and I meet him right on front of me.... over 2 feckin metres tall! (6"6") and I said "la morte diocan! " (the death fuckin hell!, Sort of) . Then Peter Steele just busted into a honest laughter after hearing what I said" He claim Peter was truly lovely bloke , approachable and very kind.
