Best analysis stretch out there, this will definitely patronise the examiner with how much knowledge you had.

I had another take on this quote, that because they provide a choice for the type of weather they want to meet in represents in a way Macbeth's possibility of choice in the path he chooses to go down on. Because the witches never forced anything upon him (could connect it to free will vs fate) they just planted an idea in his head and it was his choice wether to let it escalate into a worse state and let this his ambition eat him up or be like banqou. I'm not sure tho I do get pretty low scores on English and it feels to far fetched to be able to be used in an exam. Plus I have no clue how to use the ideas I have in a way that could get me marks 😭

Your take on this quote makes total sense, and I admire how you thought of this merely with the sense of choice from "or". I would fully be looking forward to adding that further step of analysis into my own written work. Though, in terms of improving your answers -- I would suggest to put your analysis of any quote into a paraphraser. It really helped me to pick out certain words and phrases that, not only made it more clear to my teacher, but also made it stand out. So I hope you find this helpful too!

i got a lady macbeth question in my mock. i kind of tried applying what you said with relating her to the witches and the quote about 'lightning thunder and rain' but i didnt really explain it too well. i was hoping for at least an 8 in english lit but only got a 7 just about🙏. However i used youre keyboard warrior story for english language and it really helped me so much!! i got 31/40 on that question when i usually get low 20s so thank you so much!

Thank you for this interpretation as I had previous grade 9 interpretations but this interpretation will secure it, one interesting interpretation if anybody wants it :
They appear to be in control of the weather asking when they will meet again in Thunder lightning or rain this plays into King James belief that witches conjured a storm to try singer ship he was travelling on and could control the weather apart from introducing the main theme of supernatural evil Shakespeare also uses them to introduce an idea of paradox and deception therefore the witches describe reality as fair is foul and foul is fair so that's nothing is why it seems.
This prepares Macbeth to look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under it it foreshadows the scene of Cawdor disguising that he's a traitor so don't can never suspect him it helps us realise that the witches prophecy and Macbeth will be king hereafter and could be fair and foul because it needs to regicide Shakespeare therefore creates a world which is untrustworthy and uncertain.
