He’s also the drummer who brought Gravity Snare Blast Beats to the spotlight now just about every Tech Death Metal Bands are doing it which hey, I’m not complaining because I love the sound and the different techniques to pull them off. Spencer Prewitt of Archspire is also an inhuman beast as well.

When other Professional Drummers like Lord Marco (Rings of Saturn drummer), Dave McGraw (Cattle Decapitation), Flo Mourner (Cryptopsy) say your an amazing elite drummer then I’d say there opinion trumps yours because you definitely don’t know more about drumming than them.

The closest thing to new Angelcorpse that is ever gonna happen is Malefic Throne, which features both former AC members John Longstreth and Gene Palubicki.
This amazing guy looks so calm,like he's not working hard at all. Just got/learning double bass pedals.i would collapse off of the throne after one minute at that speed.what a phenomenal talent.cymbals look and sound incredible
The meinl extreme metal ride comes in 18" and 20", and is pretty much the same ride. I asked Meinl about it a while back when his other video released, they said they had no plans on releasing it currently. So, that means.. write them, call them, mail them and demand it's greatness lol. If you can't wait though, the extreme metal version is nice, I love mine!

Other than that I try to feel the phrasing more and in this song the 250bpm 1/4 note is too fast for me. I’d rather feel it as half notes. Or 2 bar phrases at 125, lol. Either way this is very impressive. Not my style, but impressive to say the least.
Metal players, generally speaking, tend to think of 16ths as the "maximum" and rarely think of song at these tempos having 32nds. Sounds more impressive if you say 250 rather than 125 :) Any kind of faster metal is usually thought of as sitting somewhere at 180 bpm and above. However, most would probably feel this song at 125 like you, just set the click and measure the tempo at 250, if that makes sense. Faster click makes things easier usually, too.
I had the privilege of seeing Angel Corpse every time they rolled through Cincinnati Ohio. Saw them with John, and then saw them with the drummer that replaced John. Yes, I could tell a slight difference between the two. It's sort of like seeing Slayer with Dave, and seeing Slayer without Dave....big difference!!!
Tony Laureano did an excellent job on the 'Inexorable' album, but he is no John Longstreth... 'Exterminate' is still my favorite Angelcorpse album; perhaps even a contender for 'best death metal album ever'? 🤔🤗
i know its a drum video but i just have to point out that longstreth did a much better job with the drums than the guitarist did with gene palubicki's angelcorpse riffing
The guy that mixed "Of Lucifer and Lightning" should be racked at least. John's best studio contribution to that band, totally murdered. I can get angry about that kind of stuff.

Listened to Angel Corpse back in the day. Strong Morbid Angel influence so good stuff. John's work with Dim Mak on Knives of Ice is also killer.
