- Thanks for watching my first video replacing the upper engine mount & powerflex insert on my MK5 Golf GTI 2.0 TFSI.
Things Needed:
Jack & Jackstands
Plank of wood to support the engine
Torque Wrench / Ratchet / Breaker Bar
Socket Set (13, 16 & 19)
Torx Bits (T25/T30)
New Engine Mount (If replacing) - Part No 1K0199262M
Powerflex Inserts - Part No PFF85-531 (Check as there are 2 types)
New Bolts (Advised) - I bought 2 new bolts but reused 2 - 1x N91029602 - 2x N10552402 - 1x N90596906
Torque Spec for Bolts
60 NM plus 1/4 turn for mount to engine bolts
40 NM plus 1/4 turn for mount to body bolts
20 NM plus 1/4 turn for small bracket to body bolts

IMO the engine moved when you untightend the mount because you didn’t have enough tension on the jack but hey you got it done anyways (the vibrations should lessen after 5-7k kilometers) very excellent video showing the process much love brother
You’re right, it did move and I had to line it back up as best I could.
@@ljgriffiths great to hear done a couple used the cheap Ali express ones for over 2 year vibration still there but lessened substantially over time
How much vibration did this add? I bought the same powerflex kit and was wondering if its ok to daily.
It definitely adds some vibration but I personally didn’t find it too bad. The Gearbox insert added more in my opinion
And gearbpx side? Same upgrade?

I searched for a while and found them on a forum post from a few years ago.
It make the car vibrate like crazy don’t install powerflex!
Do you think? It definitely adds vibration but I didn’t think it was too bad
