Venezia - Canal Grande

Der Canal Grande von Venedig ist die Hauptwasserstraße der Lagune von Venedig, fast vier Kilometer lang, 30 bis 70 Meter breit und bis zu fünf Meter tief. Die erste Biegung des S-förmigen Kanals wird Volta di Canal genannt.
Es ist der letzte Abschnitt des nördlichen Zweigs des Flusses Brenta, der durch die Lagune fließt, sodass hier im Gegensatz zu anderen venezianischen Kanälen immer Wasser fließt. Etwa 45 kleinere Kanäle (italienisch Rii) münden in den Canal Grande.
The Grand Canal of Venice is the main waterway of the Venice Lagoon, almost four kilometers long, 30 to 70 meters wide and up to five meters deep. The first bend of the S-shaped canal is called Volta di Canal.
It is the last section of the northern branch of the Brenta River that flows through the lagoon, so unlike other Venetian canals, there is always water flowing here. About 45 smaller canals (Italian Rii) flow into the Grand Canal.
