The way that Paris so obviously loves you is what always jumps out when I watch these videos. Super inspiring. Also, enjoying the music throwback from the Vlog-a Days...
The best cup of coffee (latte here in america, cafe creme, I believe, in Paris) I've ever had in my life was at a cafe called Cafe Loustic a couple blocks north of Centre Pompidou. I only went there once so I can't speak to their consistency. But of the hundreds of cups of coffee I had across a few countries, I still can specifically remember that one as the best.
Love these types of videos, always great to hear from a local what kind of places (coffee in this case) you like. Question, when you go out in the evening to just hangout with friends for a beer or a drink where do you go? Many videos on Paris talk about nightlife but I'm interested in more laid back and casual places to just chill.
There are some great neighbourhood bars like La Mécanique des Fluides in the 10th and La Sifflotte opposite. It's near enough out of the way and chilled enough most weeknights. Not the best beer selections but again, quieter and out the way. Cambridge Public House is really good if you want some craft beers and wines and some food. It's also a cocktail bar but they are super welcoming and their service and friendliness is the best.
I made a Cocktail video and a Craft Beer video if you want to check those out ruclips.net/video/Jlg-7ZWx-OI/видео.html And then tons of recommendations in my guide 😉☕
I love this video, Jay! When I saw Noir up front, I initially skipped the rest because I thought it would be a bunch of spots I was already familiar with. But noooo, you surprised me and I can’t wait to try some of these recommendations. Outstanding.
Am going to do Two Doors next time I’m in Paris as I love staying on the other side of the hill in Montmartre. A really great very informative video - thanks Jay!
I did check out Devotions for a cup of coffee and a lunch. Honestly, it was a couple of weeks ago and I had the avocado toast dish. A little bit weird to only have one piece of toast with so much spread piled on top. It would have made sense to have 2 slices of bread, but a bigger plate would have been needed. The coffee was good, the food was a bit bland. I like more flavor in my food. It lacked punch. Thanks for the advice though, I will try more.
Thanks for the video. I found a couple more to add to my list for my trip in a few weeks. I didn’t see Blé Sucre on the list. Have you had their croissant? David Lebovitz says that’s the best croissant in Paris and I have never had one that has been better than theirs but I’m going to try more soon.
Great video. Technical question What happened to the “description” info in YouTub? I ask as i was looking for the list of coffee cafes that you visited? Merci.
Hello Jay feels like you been away for months and months . I miss the vids your chat you defo give info we need the prob is we never know we needed that info until you say it and we all sat going oooooo didnt know that glad he said look forward to more vids
I'm also a big fan of Beans on Fire in Montmarte. Was there last summer for Bastille and it was hotter than hell. Ended up staying there for an hour for a rest
Love this video! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to France and staying in Paris, and I really wanted to find some great coffee spots for him! This was super helpful and I’ve jotted them all down 😊. Thanks for making this, I wish you made guides for everywhere else in Europe too 😂 PS: Your Louvre video was very informational too 😊
Nice video Jay but I feel like you missed a couple of top spots; Dose in Batignolles should definitely be on this list although you can't use a laptop there and the cafeotheque because it's a great spot if you are a tourist and seeing stuff like the Notre damme
That is one Of My goals. ‘Best coffee shop’. I am coffee-o-philo 🎉. I used to have coffee shop and sold coffee retail and whole sale. Have you had»ILLY»? The best . I am heading back to Hawaii right now. (Love the hat) 🌴🌴Aloha
Great video and recommendations, thanks. I have tried some of those coffee shops, and they are good. Personally, the best coffee shop in Paris i have tried is "Substance Café," where the owner and barista, Joachin won the 2019 Sprudgie Awards and also the Brew Cup Championships of France in 2018 and 2019. A must-try place Joachin will bring a unique coffee experience to you. In the shop, there are 14 chairs; he gives you one-on-one attention and will answer any questions you have. He focuses on specialty coffee and has a dedicated blast freezer that contains vacuum-sealed rare coffee that can be purchased there. The experience takes 30 minutes to 3 hours, depending on how much time you want to spend there.
Your vids of late are looking so good, however, the title should be best coffee places ... for Americans ( not criticizing) but lemon loafs and the cookie game is not why I ❤ Paris - I don't want Starbuck-ish cafés. That said still a great vid.
I'm struck by the fact that most of these places have English names. Is there a correlation between the language of the name and the quality of the coffee?
That would be really helpful if it were the case! Great observation. There's been a MASSIVE uptick in English usage in both marketing and business naming in Paris in the last five years. It's been crazy to watch. Unfortunately it's not always done well, and certainly isn't a reliable indicator of what to expect 😂
@@JaySwanson that is probably connected to the sad brexit saga. Those forerunners that moved from London to Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. You can't escape the turmoil that is brexit.
Bobby in Montmartre!! ❤🍕🍷 Delicious! Thanks Jay for the recommendation in one of your videos. My husband and I speak of that meal at least once a week since we went in early October 2022.😅
From my short visit in Paris I'd say coffee there sucks.....Of course I haven't tried many places and Paris is huge but the random coffee shops offer what I call "airplane coffee" (Those who travel would understand what I mean). Coffee in the US is no different so I have an Italian espresso machine at home and rarely drink coffee outside. What always amazes me is how much better the coffee is from the vending machines in Easter Europe. I have no idea if they are popular in the West but man, they do make some good coffee on the go. With all being said I understand we all have preferences so what one person likes may not be good for another. Like my neighbor says: "There atr two types of beer.My beer and your beer!"..
Amidst a world in turmoil, Jay and coffee are two reassuring constants ☕
🥰☕🥰
The way that Paris so obviously loves you is what always jumps out when I watch these videos. Super inspiring. Also, enjoying the music throwback from the Vlog-a Days...
Thank you Erin =) I love Paris back haha
Noir coffeeshop is so far the best coffeeshops you can find in Paris ! Always good 👍

Totally agree! Love the coffee and the welcoming atmosphere at Loustic! (And also love the brookie at KB)
Loustic has a really fun vibe!
This is great. As an Australian, we're used to good coffee so we'll be searching for good coffee
It’s great to see how Paris’s coffee game has increased in the past decade. Those all look like great spots!
It's EXPLODING 🥰🥰🥰☕🥰🥰🥰
🌿☕️❤️ DEVOTIONS Café in the 18th is quite good too 😊 big up to Cayo ❤
Contagious catchy name
Thanks 🥂

Heading back to Paris for a couple days this June, time to really dive back into your videos ☺️ can’t wait to taste French coffee again!
Enjoy!☕☕☕

I really missed your videos. It’s nice to have you as a resource for my hypothetical trip to Paris.
Happy to hypothetically help!☕
If you have a chance, I/O Cafe in Le Haute Marais is perhaps the best cup I have ever had in Paris! Yellow Tucan (also Marais) is very good as well.
I/O is in my guide ☕📍 Such a fun little spot
Happy to say that I finally moved to Paris. Now I can check out all these places you recommend.
Congratulations, and enjoy!
Frothed streamed proper coffee!
Hey Jay! Right beside Steel is another cafe called "Café la lune verte", it is one of my fave cafes in Paris!
Excellent video! Loved it ❤
We saw! I need to pop in and check it out
Cafe Nuances has mad me the best coffee of my life 2 times!
I live in Montmartre I happily make the trek down to the 2nd just for some coffee.
They're so good!
Another awesome flavour of life in Paris. Thanks Jay !
My pleasure!
Am going to do Two Doors next time I’m in Paris as I love staying on the other side of the hill in Montmartre. A really great very informative video - thanks Jay!
I love Two Doors ☕
You should totally do a cookie video!
I do love cookies!
All these places look so cosy and Noir seems so chic. Adding to my list for next time - thank you!
Chic indeed! And thankfully also good 😆
Amazing production quality 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks!
Another fantastic vlog Jay!!
Thank you!
Great video Jay! Fringe is the only place I've been to on that list, plenty of great looking places to check during my nex trip.
So much to discover ☕

Yeah - flavor is a common lack here in the food department in my experience too - but I'm glad you enjoyed Devotions overall!
Super informative

always a banger with these vids! and we’re sponsored 🔥🔥🔥
🙌🍻
The English Bar at Hotel Regina du Louvre is a great place for a cup of Joe
Fringe sounds awesome because it’s an eatery peppered with photography? I like it 👏🏽
It's great
HAPPY NEW YEAR to Coop and you! Sending my best wishes.
Love the presentation and photography. And Swedish cardamom buns--the best. . . . from Sequim
Gotta love a good bun!☕
Great video. Technical question What happened to the “description” info in YouTub? I ask as i was looking for the list of coffee cafes that you visited? Merci.
We need to get che chapters back in the description sorry. My guide has all these and more in a much more neighborhood-centric layout too ☕
@@JaySwanson Fantastic!
I see Kate there wth you in one of the coffeeshops!❤

Merci ☕️👍🏿
Thanks for this video!! I have a (VERY) long layover in Paris in a few weeks & have been looking out for the best coffee shops to pop into.
These should keep you caffeinated as you sprint around town!☕
I am surprise Le Peleton Cafe did not make the list. Are they still around? We enjoyed them back in 2019 when we visited.
I’m thinking that place dissed Jay when he was ill….and after all he did for them! Wouldn’t give those guys another thought.
After some 500 cameos, I think they're ok 😆 They'll be in another video this spring (or sooner if I can get my act together!)☕
☕️🥐✨😎
What happened to the Peleton cafe where you used to go?
Rude, inconsiderate Americans 1:56

Great video as usual. Cooper is getting a little pudgy. So cute.
Just the jacket 😆 Thanks!
Liked 😊

Make sure you use his tip about the other entrance, we walked right in without ANY line!
Nice to know the cookie game is strong in Café Pigalle and in other Cafés.
It's getting better ALL THE TIME 🥰🥰
Surprised no Peleton . . . Great video as always!
After some 500 cameos, I think they'll make it 😆 Thank you!
Hi Jay! Great video and love your guide! Any plans to do an updated version?
Yep! Working on that now ☕
And thank you!
Nice video Jay but I feel like you missed a couple of top spots; Dose in Batignolles should definitely be on this list although you can't use a laptop there and the cafeotheque because it's a great spot if you are a tourist and seeing stuff like the Notre damme
Dose has a few nice spots! There are lots of places I love that didn't make it into the video - gotta grab my guide for the full list 😉

Parisian Café Discourse? Could you BE any more Le Parisien?!
Huge national labor strike in France today. Trains and flights halted, hospital workers.
Another one next week too!
In Paris and France in general is hard to find a good cup of at least espresso….
Definitely tricksy

Kawa, Clove, Substance, and Telescope Coffee should be added
They all make appearances in other videos and in my guide :) There are too many for one video now, it's a revolution!
Is there still such a thing as "un bol de cafe"?
There is, but I've only really had them in the countryside
Check out the creative philosophy of Rick Ruben. He’s all overRUclips!❤
Enjoyed an interview with him!
Oh my God what is the name of the song a 1:25 it's driving me crazy haha

How about tea? Any good tea spots in Paris?
Awesome. Next please do pizza. My vote is for Pizza Mama :)
Slowly building a library of my dissatisfaction with Paris pizza 🍕😆😆

Peleton finds no mention? Strange, Monsieur!!!
Why? Everyone already clearly knows them enough to ask 😆 and maybe I'm saving them for something else 🤫
♥️🍀♥️🍀♥️🍀♥️🍀♥️🍀🙋

Back in Black?
In the roaster video already ☕☕
What happened to The Peloton?
They're still biking and serving coffee ☕ 🚲
Okay but what if you enjoy sugar with just a hint of coffee?
Ive been alive for about 130,000 hours. And ive only been in paris for 7 of them. and was asleep for 6.9 of those 7 hours.
