i'm probably one of the lucky people owning always now and the maxi looking from a hilltop,,i consider these milestones in post punk modern music,,,i do not like putting bands in a drawer,,,and btw,,many bands sounded kinda like JD,,,thanks for putting it!!!
The intro of the song sounds like a poor man's version of Pink Floyd's Pompeii intro. However, unlike Echoes, this song's intro is in a different key than the song itself. It sounds cobbled together. It was cobbled together, in fact, but it still sounds amazing.
I always play this song at the dawn of the day, has such an idyllic feeling to it, a mystique I have seldom heard anywhere else. A fascinating band that I am so glad they exist, along with all of Factory Records. I love the video too.
@@antigen4 Ian did produce some of their recordings, so did Stephen Morris. And in response to Peter's post I believe the influence was 2-way. Section 25 emerged around the same time as New Order and were both signed to Factory in the very early days, and I believe both bands influenced each other. Tony Wilson had to pin his hopes on the band likely to bring more commercial success, and so put more effort into promoting Joy Division.
The Martin Hannett Sound - he produced Joy Division and Section 25, among others. The vocals and guitar playing here are completely different from Joy Division, but production-wise, I see what you mean.
i wonder if it's standard tuning on bass. I'm a bass beginner and i would like to play this bass line! killing sound! by the way what is this bass model?
All the Factory bands have a vibe in my heart and I have always pulled towards Section 25
a true post punk anthem
When was this originally produced? 1981?
Oh wow, sends shivers down my spine, can't believe Larry's been gone five years!
BEGATO POST PUNK
Disagio Proletario Val Polcevera
When they were fantastic. One of my favorite songs ever.
They never really went away.
The guy sitting casually in front of the amp playing his guitar on the lap like a zither is the most stoic man in the universe.
Pure, fantastic post punk
This song never fails not to hypnotize me...!
and again tonight.................
Simply Timeless......
and for me.. Lancashire banality but beautiful x

coldwaver87 it's standard tuning. Maybe an ARIA Pro 2 Bass.
thanks!
sounds to me like just about any other bass out there - except recorded in a real room through a bass amp ... hope that helps
It's a Hagström Futurama. Spraypainted silver by Mr. Cassidy himself.
@@soepil Thanks for the information! This bass is beautiful really!
