I love Next Level Charli as an opener because even if unintentional it feels like behind the fun turn-up lyrics there's a sadness behind it and then the next song is Gone which talks about emotionally draining social situations and anxiety, perfect track listing.
There's a recklessness to Next Level Charli that creates the image of someone doing extreme things just to feel something. Specifically, "Vroom vrooming *might die*" shows that Charli is willing to risk her life for a thrill. That lack of care hints at a certain restlessness or depression that ties into Gone perfectly.
I love how happy she is talking about her music and I also love that the interviewer actually listened to the songs and knows what he’s talking about. She‘s the sweetest and she deserves all the attention!
literally hate how a lot of interviews about charli i've watched are the same boring questions. THIS is such a great, interesting, and engaging interview
Man what a difference a good interviewer makes. Great questions, he definetly knew what he was doing and made Charli feel confortable! Congratulations!
Not even a Charli fan like that. But her love for her own music, self advocacy and these more in-deoth interviews she's been doing for Charli has made me really grow to like her in a whole new way. It's refreshing to hear an artist speak so candidly about how their songs come together.
I always thought Silver Cross was about a guy but to hear it’s about taking a friend out that’s depressed makes perfect since. Favorite on the album. ✝️
Love her so much! Also on this album I love how so many songs really break typical song structure! Especially the linear format of shake it and February 2017!
This was really cool to watch! I love how passionate Charli is about her music. My favorites on the album are gone, cross you out, white mercedes, click, i don't want to know, official😊
I wonder if she and Madeon talked about this making music in a set amount of time thing cos I know he used to do a 24hr EP thing to spark creativity (it's how he made Finale). It's a cool thought! Maybe!
Why doesn't Kim have a co-writing credit on Click? 🤔 So Kim sent you back her verse that she had someone else write? Or you wrote it and had her record it? But that doesn't go with this whole narrative of the story of you being blown away by what she did and having to redo your verse. So confusing. Something isn't adding up. I hate feeling like I'm being misled or lied to.

That's because she's a song writer - not just a singer singing someone else's art. The message is hers to share.

I love how it feels like she’s one of us...like she’s so excited to talk about her own songs and go crazy to them like we are 😭💓
