Thank you Karen, this is such a beautiful colourful page, absolutely love it. I really liked the effect the white had around the hearts, it made them pop off the page. I would enjoy seeing another video with you using the pattern from the napkin with paint, that would be really fun. 💜
Beautiful cheerful page Karen. Love the white around the hearts. Great definition and also ties in with the white stamping in the background. The loved up frogs 🐸 are so fun too
The clear gesso protects the napkin and turns it into a non-porous surface so when I shade the heart shapes later the paint doesnt wick into the napkin but rather stays on the surface. If I put on paint on the raw napkin and wanted to undo it I couldnt ..the gesso allows me to wipe off any mistakes as well. If you dont have clear gesso you could use a coat of fluid matte medium or gel medium. K
Great question. You need to take the layers off as it will wrinkle,or cause you problems when you try to glue them down so removing them and gluing onto copy paper is the way to go .
The white makes the hearts look 3D! ☺️💕
Yes....exactly right. K
Hello Karen, I love the white shading around the dark, really pops out those hearts. 🤗

How lovely, and the white round the hearts just brought the shapes to life. Beautiful coloured napkin. Thank you for your time.
Yes...it really did need the white to make it pop and to lighten the overall look. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. K

Question ,how the clear gesso help you in this project?...I like the colors in the napkin....🌈

@@KarenBurchill Thanks a million...
Since you didn’t want the frogs to be see-through, is there a need to peel the napkin layers? Is there any additional advantage to that?
Great question. You need to take the layers off as it will wrinkle,or cause you problems when you try to glue them down so removing them and gluing onto copy paper is the way to go .
