    This will make you feel better juck. Texas is 83rd I'm the country in sacks given up behind UTSA and Fresno State. Ohio State meanwhile is 5th in sacks given up. Ohio State is #1 in sack rate in the country. Texas is number 19 in sack rate, behind Michigan. We gave up zero sacks and only 4 TFLs to Michigan. There is no world where Texas wins this game without just a terrrrible game out of the Buckeyes. They'd have to totally collapse. Now do you think they're gonna let that happen, Juck? This will be the coolest I've been watching a game since Indiana. Just not on our level.

    The big advantage of being independent (in my humble opinion) is if/when Notre Dame makes a semi finals and when they get their $14 (or whatever) million payout, they share it with no one, unlike a team like Ohio State or Penn State who has to share it with the conference. In today’s pay-for-play system, Notre Dame can take that payout and invest it right back into their roster.

    After the cheating scandal, "The Game" just doesn't mean the same to me. And with the new playoff era, it's importance has been further diminished. I say this as a Buckeye fan of 50+ years. It will never be "just another game", but when you erase the 3 years of Michigan cheating (maybe less, maybe more), any criticism of Ryan Day is mostly unwarranted. This season's loss would be the outlier. There should not have been a need for "fans" to come around due to the team's performance thus far in the playoffs. These are the same people who will turn on Day when they lose again. End of rant.

    • @jimmy5634
      @jimmy5634 16 дней назад

      I’m with you. I used to live and die on the Mythagain game. Then, they cheated. They are despicable and they ruined every ounce of respectability they claimed their school and program has. I hope the NCAA buries them in sanctions. They are no longer a rival, they are trash.

    Dodd is a tool for writing that trash. I'd definitely understand if Day wanted out. The pressure has to be immense, but I think people don't realize he's still a young coach and is still getting it figured out (and HAS to figure it out). Harbaugh started 0-5 before finally getting a win in The Game. Day is 1-4. I'd truly rather get rid of the fickle fair weather fans than a coach that has an .872 win percentage, has kept the program nationally relevant every year, and recruits at a high level. Keep in mind if they win the national title, Day would have 6 top ten wins this season with 4 of them being in a row. That's impressive.
    As for the game tomorrow, I'm pissed. Made it to the Michigan and Tennessee game. Now, I could shoot down to Dallas from SW Arkansas, but the snow and ice are likely going to prevent that. Either way, GO Bucks! Prediction: 38-28 Buckeyes.

    • @armynurseboy
      @armynurseboy 16 дней назад

      More stability in college. They can literally fire you at any time in the NFL. I don't think Day considers the NFL until the current contract is up. By then his kids will be mostly grown and the lack of stability is less of an issue.

    • @BradTheBuckeye5
      @BradTheBuckeye5 16 дней назад

      @armynurseboy Right. I have no issues understanding why HE would want to leave. What bothers me is why the FANS are trying to push him out. I was as pissed as anyone after the Michigan loss. I drove 14 hours to witness that. It was my first trip to the Shoe. Thankfully, I was able to come back to witness the Tennessee game and blunt that trauma. Lol

    • @armynurseboy
      @armynurseboy 16 дней назад

      @BradTheBuckeye5 because there is a portion of the fambase that revels in being the "lunatic fringe." All of their reactions are knee-jerk and don't think through the 2nd and 3rd order effects of Ryan Day leaving (either voluntarily or fired). If Day leaves, we lose this coaching staff. I would bet our top players transfer immediately. We lose recruits. In effect, we would become FSU overnight.

    Franklin is 100% on point.. ND could easily be a playoff contender every year not playing conference games, ND could be average in BIG or SEC cuz the conference games are completely different & its also not fair to the schools playing ND that play in a conference, teams should refuse to play teams not part of a conference until it changes.. They would be forced then to join a conference

    Anyone who coaches at OSU understands the implications of the Michigan game, and the grief that they are going to get if they keep losing that game. That Michigan loss was one of the worst in Buckeye history, and it actually looks even more embarrassing considering the way the team is playing now. Talent wise, the Buckeyes are a Ferrari, but Day has often had a real problem with driving it like an old lady.
    So at the time of the Michigan loss, of course his seat was red hot because it comes with the territory. Hasn’t won a Michigan game, should have won the last one, mostly mediocre in the big games.
    Now the mental switch has been flipped and that last part isn’t true anymore. Day has a great team that loves him and will play for him. He’s a good football mind and a good coach whose only real flaw seems to be overthinking things and getting in his own way. He finally took the handcuffs off the offense and that was the final piece of the puzzle. Now they are world beaters.
    He’s taken a huge step forward as a coach and earned back what was lost with the Michigan debacle. I get that the fans were tough on him…I sure was, but that’s going to happen at any big program with a big profile that is always in the hunt.
    They overcame mistakes and a few shots to their own foot and finished off Texas. One more game.

    I have a feeling the score will be 38-24 Ohio. A big factor for Texas will be penalties, they have averaged 5 a game and 10 against Arizona, a even Match up team. With how Ohio states D-line has been pulling to open holes i think there will be holding. I also think our receivers are more physical than their corners. Ohio State will have to watch for ewers scramble game.

    I said at the beginning of the year that win or lose Ryan Day is gone. Chip will take over. Arguments i got were:
    Chip doesn't want to deal with NIL!
    Chip didnt want to be a head coach at ucl,why would he want to at ohio state with all the pressure thay comes with it?
    Chip had to compete with USC in the same city. Not staye but ciry!.
    Ucla supports their basketball team more than the football team.
    Ohio shas nobody competing with them in state. All MAC schools. NIL is waaaay better than ucla.

Does it not strike you as odd that no city in PA is represented when Penn State has been an anual almost rival since 93?
