for Acts of Faith (1993), The Value in the Valley (1995), and Faith in the Valley (1996).
Ms. Vanzant was honored "Alumni of the Year" in 1994 by the National Association for Equal Opportunity
in Education, an organization made up of the presidents and administrators of the 117 predominantly
Black colleges in America.
She is the former host of the television series Iyanla and co-host of the NBC daytime reality show Starting Over.

Sister i can only thank you... you speak words that come right on time!!! There are no coincidences; so i was meant to begin my day with parts I and II to lighten the burden a.ka. "wretchedness" i believed & then claimed for mine alone to bear and and thank God i was just able to comfort someone when prior to listening i was busy looking for comfort. The comfort came in helping another. Ain't God awesome!
I was reminded just how brilliantly God works through you when watching you on Oprah this past year and I am now reading Peace in Broken Pieces and I cannot tell you how many times I have cried, thinking to myself "thank you God, for someone who can put into the exact wording, what happened to me".
