I noticed MAD has mostly been forgotten at this point, and while the whole show is about crossover parodies, I think it's at least worth pointing out that there was one CN crossover skit they did for the channel's 20th anniversary called Once Upon a Toon which was a parody of Once Upon a Time where a kid was trying to reunite all the old Cartoon Network shows and restore the characters' memories.
1:22:43, "Mystery Solvers Club State Finals" is actually one of my Favorite Episodes ever, along with "Heart of Evil" (Featuring Dynomutt & Blue-Falcon)
2:24:42, Eat your Heart out, Space Jam 2: A New Legacy, you got nothing on this. UPDATE: 2:26:52, I really hope Scooby-Doo and the Gang doesn't mind if The Titans, The Gremlins, Daffy Duck and Yogi Bear can use The Mystery Machine for their adventure. Double-Update: 2:28:46, This should've been included in the actualy Episode as the Extended Ending instead..... *Robin: Looks Like you really were on the Guest List after all. My bad. Raven: How in the world can you screw that up, Robin? ITS NOT THAT HARD TO DO! Aquaman: You're really the biggest Fool ever! Top Cat: That might have been the BIGGEST blunder ever! Even Dynomutt would be shamed of that. Dynomutt: And I thought I often make mistakes! But never THIS badly. Blue-Falcon: What is wrong with you, Robin? Dynomutt: What Blue-Falcon said! Robin: I, I, Eer, listen...I just---! Bugs Bunny: All in favor of getting Robin for screwing up big time and making Daffy, Yogi, The Gremlins and the rest of the Titans go on this Adventure for nothing and wasting their time, raise your hand! >Everyone, expect for Robin, rasies their Hands< Bugs Bunny: All against the Idea and that Robin should be let go easy and be forgiven? All the WB Animated Characters (Running): WHEN WE'RE DONE POUNDING YOU LIKE CRAZY!! >Looney Tunes Theme Music Plays< Porky Pig: Th-Th-Tha-- (Beast Boy, in Pig Form, pushes him outta the way) Beast Boy: >Chuckles< That's all, Yo!
You missed Harvey Birdman Attorneyat Law and the MAD CN/Once Upon a Time parody sketch. Also all Hanna-Barbera sketches in Billy and Mandy, like Hoz Delgado running over some HB characters with his truck, or Yogi Bear trying to steal Billy's basket. Also, does Jellystone! counts as a crossover series since it has most HB characters? it should since you counted 6teen's Jude in Total DramaRara.
Since you grew up with the City era and didn't talk about this certain block during the Powerhouse era, I can definitely tell you never saw Cartoon Cartoon Fridays (not to be confused with Fridays which started in 2003.) This was definitely the biggest crossover during that time since it was hosted by a different character from a show each week, and we got to see them interacting with other characters (my favorite being when Mojo Jojo was hosting and had to do it alongside Blossom and Courage much to his dismay.) Also, that promo for CCF that aired on Nickelodeon wasn't from 2004 because the block had ended the previous year. In addition to CCF, the Powerhouse era had some skits during commercial breaks that would pave the way for the City era such as Fred, Chicken and Thundarr the Barbarian looking for a parking space, Sheep in the Big City's titular character trying to find a group at a table in a cafeteria where he fits in, and Scrappy-Doo ranting about the network being taken over by the newer shows. Other things worth mentioning from that era are JBVO which Johnny Bravo hosted taking requests from viewers to show episodes of any Cartoon Network show as long as it was short (if that alone wasn't enough to qualify, one episode had Scooby-Doo characters make guest appearances), and the Fancy Anvil Awards Show in 2002 which was hosted my various Cartoon Network characters.
Amazing video Ruff! It was really enjoyable, and its cool to see you talk about all of these cartoons in one video. I'd love to see a sequel video covering the other crossover stuff like the movies or the comics!
Fun fact for any Vivziepop fan but not clinically online LOL: Beetlejuice in Teen Titans GO is voiced by Alex Brightman, who plays him in the Broadway play of the character, but is also the voice of Sir Pentious, Adam and Fizzarolli from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss respectively
1:25:22 The way you guys'll be starting Ultimate Alien soon, it's the PERFECT time to get into Generator Rex, since the crossover for both shows Occur during this time. Generator is way underrated, and it deserved so much more
The "Our Dad" bit from PPG always puts a smile on my face because they just casually owned sexism by making Captain Glory look like a dickhead in every level, since he was not only an sexist douchebag with all his questions, he ended up feeling like in an insensitive asshole when realizing the girls don't even have a mom, he even turns to the rest of the league being like "I fucked up" And as for Cartoon Network City, i do LOVE how Villainous essentially brought it back as the setup for its worldbuilding.
Very nice video as always buddy ^^ I'm surprised you didn't notice (or at least not mentioned) how the uncle grandpa x steven episode actually some foreshadowing/kinda spoilers As Lars and Sadie'ship literally sinking Or UG telling steven to pulish his gem at least once a year (this is a very obscure reference, but the only gem that needs to receive this treatment is a DIAMOND, and we actually see steven pulishing it in the garnet weeding episode lmao) And about the Ben 10 crossovers. . .yeah, is better if you don't deep to much in those before omniverse, but a mini-series reaction to every crossover (and maybe the reboot specials?) afterwards? Holy shit i'm about it ^^
You 100% should check out Generator Rex, very underrated gem from Man of Action that I wish I saw more of. The concept of the nanites, how they fleshed out the concept with the enemy designs and the overarching mystery throughout was something that kept me invested even past all the cool shit Rex would transform into and fight against. I honestly need to go back and watch the ending if there is one since we stopped using cable halfway thru the series run, so I've been wondering for years how the overarching plot tied up. The Secret Saturdays was also good, I never knew of the newer crossover with Ben 10 tho. Definitely a must-watch now that I'm aware of it.. Secret Saturdays was based around a family of cryptid hunters basically, heavy emphasis on their family dynamic while having some cool creatures based from real life mythologies and I'm sure a few original creatures here n there. Both series are worth a chance at the very least, I'm sure they might not be for everyone but there's obviously a lot of love behind both series. ❤ Omg I NEED to read the IDW comics for the crossovers that cover art looked amazinggggg The OK-KO Cartoon City episode, that punch.. my whole childhood in one sequence, I could actually cry 😭
6:11 What disrespect to Speed Buggy! Another tiny crossover you could have talked about but completely glazed over on top I'm just calling him "sentient car"!
Still my favorite channel, although unfortunately I don't have cable tv anymore so I missed all the 30th anniversary stuff last year. I have max though so I at least get to rewatch my favorite shows from when I was little. Also, the Moxy Show was CN's first show, but a) they rarely showed it, b) it was cancelled quietly, c) most of it is lost media now, and d) the only bits I know of it come from youtube lost media channels and wikipedia. I truly don't remember ever having seen it as a kid, although that could just be because the show was older than me by a couple years. Whoa, SGCTC premiered almost exactly a year before I was born lol that's wild. Do you guys remember the reruns being on TBS? It was kind of like seeing your teacher out of school for the first time. Powerpuff Girls is still my all-time favorite show and the episode where they showed up Major Glory is good and all, but the dick robot and hot p*ssy jokes at the end sort of lose it for me 😂. And Bubbles isn't even the fastest out of the girls, that's also Buttercup. She flew so fast she time travelled and took the other two with her. Crossover Nexus was the channel's 25th anniversary special so that's why it was so big. It's also the first mention of Puffy AmiYumi and Moxy since their shows ended. I still love that they used the original designs for the PPG instead of the 2016 reboot style. Ditto with the WB/Cartoon Network Studios crossover special there at the end. I apologize for my rambling; I'm on the ASD spectrum and cartoons are one of my hyperfixations.
