    Kiara had an eventful but surprisingly peaceful moment with US immigration staff. She had to explain why her companions (staff + talents) were traveling separately. How would you even answer that?

      A year or two before Covid happened, I traveled to Europe from the US. No problems getting through TSA. Bags were scanned and everything.
      A bit later, I was leaving one European country to fly to another and the lady at the scanner started hassling me, asking if I had a knife and pulling out things of my bag like a 1/4" headphone adapter and asking me what it does. I'm absolutely bewildered, because the things she's pulling out are clearly not knives. After what felt like 20 minutes, she pulled something out of my bag like "Aha!"
      Turns out a pocket knife that I thought I had lost years ago was buried in that bag. I literally got past TSA with a knife in a carry-on bag. God knows what the hell else they've been letting in and out of the country.

    • @wildwesleywest
      @wildwesleywest 3 дня назад +1

      @@Wyrdwad to be fair, it really depends on locations. There are small towns and places in the US where a small crime might happen once in a blue moon-something like a theft or a fight breaking out, meanwhile you got neighborhoods in certain cities where hearing a gunshot is basically a common occurrence.
      I imagine Canada is similar just not as extreme. Tons of remote small places up there, which is probably super safe like down here, but certain cities might have worse problems. Though again, not as extreme as some of the US cities are.

    • @Wyrdwad
      @Wyrdwad 3 дня назад

      @@wildwesleywest That would make sense, yeah. And I know what you're talking about, as I'm American myself.
      The thing is, though, I currently live in Japan. Specifically, in Tokyo. And like, especially considering how absurdly high the population density is here, I'm not kidding when I say that there is practically ZERO crime. Like, I've never felt so safe in my life. And that's literally anywhere in Tokyo, from the less populous suburbs to Shibuya Scramble. If anything, I hear crime is actually a bit MORE common in the tiny, isolated towns and villages in Japan than it is in the big cities, since it's easier to get away with things where there are fewer people and fewer police. Most of the violent crimes you hear about on the news are from rural areas, in fact, or at least are perpetrated by residents of rural areas.
      It's kind of fascinating, from a sociological standpoint!
      But my point in all this is, while it would make sense for Canada to be just like the U.S. as far as crime statistics go, considering its relative position on the list of the world's safest countries (I seriously think it was just under Japan -- which was either #2 or #3 on the list, BTW!), I'm honestly not sure that would be the case. I suspect it may be more like Japan, where there just really isn't much violent crime to speak of.
      That's what I'd like to believe, anyway!

      Because then you'd be outright lying, and the US will happily use whatever they can against you if it sticks.

    Good thinking to seperate, Kiara accidentally confimed "herself" she is kiara unlike others. Seeing her in public with others will instantly be recognized, especially if they are heard speaking

    I don't think explaining to immigration, hence government about vtubers is a good thing with how ironmouse and other vtubers being targeted recently.
    They see you as a outlier using alias that is outside if their scope of control. If they can't control you 100% they see you as a threat.

      Recently looked up information when I was curious about how criminal organizations operate, and adult websites and similar content industry wide, are good forms of money for them.
      And with money comes influence and lobbying politics and businesses outside of their normal sphere of influence.

    If you're in America, and in a city big enough for an international airport, That is almost certainly one of the most dangerous places to be. Maybe not in the airport itself, but the moment you go farther into the city past the taxi and bus services... have an escort with you or some kind of bodyguard.
    Things are not so great in our cities right now.

      @@KonglomeratYTGod, I love the absolutely asinine and oblivious reasoning of "oh I've never had this happen to me, so it must be that it never happens to anyone, and anyone who says otherwise is lying." Maybe you should get outside of your little bubble.

    Things like this also make me further appreciate the value of tuning into public figures who are more healthily social than I am even when their healthier social skills don't get them as much profit. Like, having someone I can relate my struggles with can only go so far, and I wanna outdo myself every single day even if the best I can ever manage is just a little bit. And in the end, the fools in the government are also our fellow fools, so yeah, screw the pride, spread the love.
