- It was Friday night here in Fisherman's Village Koh Samui, Thailand and it was so busy!
I have not seen it this busy for over 4 years! Amazing to see Koh Samui getting back thier tourism.

We went to the most amazing Thai place close to the Frog and Gecko. It's literally just a door that leads to a very basic room with ladies making Thai food. Honestly the best meal we had in Samui, and it was about 150 baht each for food. Beer was ice cold too. Wish I could remember the name. You don't need to spend a fortune in these fancy restaurants if you're on a budget.

He did not lie with the meatballs at jolly fisherman! We wanted a quiter place it and it was like that. Super staff and good food, thai/english tapas style. Went on a monday and could watch the fireshow at coco tams on the beach without standing in line :) good tips

The mistake I made was going to Koh Phagnan for 3 weeks before I came to Koh Samui. The food and the beaches are better over in KP. The Sunset beaches are better in KP (if you've seen Lipa Noi you'll understand what I mean--it's kinda depressing seeing the empty streets in Nakhon and the poor Thai people in the underdeveloped area).
OK, I will give Samui something--your road are nice compared to KP. But it's incredibly difficult to walk across the road on Samui. It's like playing the video game Frogger.

Also, it's impossible to find the location of the Lami Walking Street and the Chaweng Beach Walking Street. If you type in the mailing address they give you, Google can't find it. Post links to locations if you have Pins, thanks!
Samui does have more lets say interesting people than KP, also. They're a little more quirky over there, Samui is more varied vibe.
Also, the Russians here don't speak much English but tons of towheaded kids. These are the good ones who got out. :)
We were at Fisherman’s Friday night but probably gone before you started your walk. Had dinner at The Shack but we were a bit disappointed after all the rave reviews. It was ok, but not something we would rave about. Maybe our expectations were set too high after reading reviews.
