Really nice facilities. Nice to see at the D2 level. You can tell JD is a coach’s kid. Really proud and knowledgeable of the program. Impressive guy for being so young.
Tour guide was on point !!! Attention to detail !! He broke down that weight room and that one exercise thing better than Snoop Dogg breaks down backwoods 😁👌🏻
This was a very good tour and JD Urso did a really good job as a host. My son is a senior in high school and got a scholarship to play D2 baseball. Some of these D2 campus and facilities are top notch.
Stoked I just came across this, my ole stomping grounds wayyy back in the day! 4 innings away from a 💍 in 2003!😫 I was just showing my boy our ‘03 Title game earlier today (someone posted it like 10 years ago) which is how I came across this sick show! And JD all grown up, man time flies, but 1 thing always stays the same; UT = 1 of the BEST ⚾️programs year after year regardless of Division. #UT #spartans #03CWSMVP 😳
I was in their conference about 20 years ago....sunshine state conference has real solid baseball, softball and basketball...a lot of those kids have d1 talent
Yah man, I was lucky enough to play ⚾at UT back in 02&03, which we lost in the National Title game my soph year. That'll forever eat at me, but even worse was transferring, even tho it was to top D2 school out west in Chico State, nothing like UT baseball! Watching this brought back so many memories, its like nothing has changed but everything has changed! Great stuff! Oh ya, the craziest part ever about my college career is my 2 schools played each other in the National Title game the year after I finished ball in 2006 when UT beat Chico St in extra innings. They ended up being like 54-6 that season, absolute powerhouse!
what i dig about the team is that they love their fans!! you can watch them work the cages and if agile enough peek in watch them practice. love taking some of the local kids to watch them work. you see their eyes light up when one of the players acknowledges them (they gotta sneak it in tho, coach dont play no ish). Cant wait for the home games to jump off, GO SPARTANS!!
I've been blessed to play at both (I played at UT and at Chico St) and Tampa's overall stadium / backdrop is better, BUT it was definitely sweet hitting BP bombs over a cliff & into the pacific ocean at Point Loma. But you can't beat stepping into the batter's box on a Friday night game under the lights at Tampa!
The intention of this school is to attract D-1 fall backs. D-1 fall backs are the high school kids who looked D-1 capable but failed to do well at that level and the kids realized they would not get much play time. So the kids found D-2 and NAIA teams to play at.
@@aidanking9621 I see your point but there's still no way to get the blue chip recruits & there's no way to fill a roster with guys that are all at a D1 level. I'm not hating but I think you're pretty wrong in your assessment. I played D1 and I've seen the level of play. I promise you that it does not compare and this argument isn't even really an argument IMHO. It's the same hypothetical people toss around when talking about Alabama football being able to compete against the worst team in the NFL. Once again, not hating on D2 but it is what it is. If they were good enough to be D1 recruits, then they would've gone D1.
@@Jon_Bonds_Jovi I played at UT back in the early 2000s and am from Boston, so everyone up here would always laugh when I said we'd absolutely CRUSH Boston College or any D1 school in the north for that matter, without question. It's pretty much a known fact that the best highschool baseball players in the country come from the Tampa area, going back to Sheffield, Gooden, Boggs, Tino, McGriff, Fernandes (RIP) to recent players like Pete Alonso, Ian Desmond, Matt Joyce (I played against him as he went to our rival Florida Southern), Denard Span, the list goes on & on. And UT now gets ALL those "D1" players either right after highschool, after JUCO ball, or after a kid doesn't get PT at their D1 school and heads home to play for Urso n Co. We absolutely would compete with any team in the country on any given day, BUT I agree that they don't have the depth of a D1 school, like backend of the pitching staff & bullpen might not compare to the top teams in D1, but they'd still absolutely be a Top 25 team. Shoot, they led ALL schools regardless of division with draft picks one year in the mid 2000s and always are up there w D1 schools every year. Just think of some of the horrible D1 baseball schools, which theres wayyy more D1 baseball schools than D1 football, which means there's some real trash teams.
Really nice facilities. Nice to see at the D2 level.
You can tell JD is a coach’s kid. Really proud and knowledgeable of the program. Impressive guy for being so young.

Yessir!
the level of tech is so amazing. That program is so well lead, and the player guide was super well spoken.
Its crazy how it went from a small collage with less than 2,000 kids in the 90´s to over 8,000
Love this keep them coming not a lot of lower division facility tours out there
Yessir!!
this place was so fun to play at they hold a tourney for high school and this place was so nice it was beautiful
You can tell the tour guide is going to be a great manager one day
Love the content!🔥🤟🏻
Thank you bro!!
waiting for the day UT is a D1 school, been tearing up D2 comp for awhile
Is this dude a player or the strength coach lol? Finally somebody doing these who knows what's going on.
He's a player, but also the head coach's son. Joe Urso has won over 1000 games at the D2 level.

Bueatiful field. Does it challenge BYU for best field?

That poll must be really old, because North Greenville was definitely pre-season #1 in D2. Just sayin
