    Thank you so much. I was at university in Cape Town in those years and even on that campus we did not know everything. Robert Sobukwe is the true Africa. I left South Africa in July 1978 as I found I could no longer live in an Apartheid society, either professionally or morally. South Africa is extremely important for what happens there is a blue-print of the world's future. "It is not only the whole of Africa that is at stake, but also the whole of humanity. Only humanity is asleep to itself and too lazy to think. This was to be the role of South Africa. The Apartheid law was not a law only against the non-white, but in truth, against Man himself as a sentient being with a mission to fulfil for Creation." This is from the Postscript of my book on S.A. "White Witness". I quote not for publicity but simply to say that this is what I believe to be true. The road is not easy but neither is anything of value. Thank you again for the video. Bless you. Marianne

    Africa and humanity in general will be incomplete discussions without the mention of Sobukwe.
    "True leadership demands complete subjugation of self, absolute honesty, integrity and uprightness of character, courage and fearlessness and above all, a consuming love for one's people"- Robert Sobukwe.
    Undoubtedly, Sobukwe was a true leader.

One can easily tell between presenters of merit and chancers. As an ardent history fan I need these kind of quality documentary. Thanks sir for such a profound piece of work. I remember coming across sobukwe reading South African history. Authors tend to just brush by him, he never occupied a centre place in books of history but I could sense the importance of the man in the fight against apartheid South Africa. Now coming from Zimbabwe to South Africa I am amazed that there are streets with Bob's name. I was not surprised! Why is the world so oblivion, Anton Lemebede as the teacher to Nkruma, Tambo, Nyerere, Sobukwe, Mandela you name them all and the Father of African Nationalism has been erased from African History, however his students are being recognised by the world for his Ideals. This is "The Greatest Fallacy of Our Lifetime" that reminds me of the Holy scriptures whereby the Acts of the Apostles is articulated everyday while the Gospel is a selective teach. What a poetic justice! The house without foundation.
    What was Peter to Paul? The same can be asked: What was Lembede to Sobukwe or What was Sisulu to Mandela?
    Lets stop hallucinating and search for truth and stop relying propaganda issued to us by controlled media, however...........let us say;
    Thanks to Sobukwe for your persuasion for Anton Lembede Enlightenment and to set landmark for Lembede Day. Honor to Nkruma for his inauguration postponement to respect his great teacher's birthday and defied the British wishes to zorefy Anton Lembede. Thanks to modesty of Tambo to uphold the Spirit of the Congress Youth League at home and in exile. Respect to Hani for his undying Spirit that has always venerated Lembede as the Greatest African Teacher and finally to Biko and SASO to declare 21 March as Lembede Day and Freedom Day.
    With respect to all delinquents who did'nt follow Lembede, when you staged your Pass Law protest on 26 March 1960 in the backyard in Orlando West, the Pass Law was already defeated by Sobukwe and Kgosana, and now, look what you have done to Mother Africa, you have mis-educated the African Child.
    May the Spirits of all Astute Lembede Students live long with us and may the Souls of all Delinquent Lembede Students who are in purgatory be prayed for so that they may resurrect as Astute Spirits from Delinquent Souls. .
    May the Spirit of Anton Lembede dwell among Us as it was with Robert Sobukwe.

Personally I feel he was the greatest South African black leader too difficult to forget by true Africans like me.Truly he is no more, nevertheless his spirit did not go with him but still lingers on among us looking for the correct route to spring out again maybe through Julius Malema and others. Big, Bob, rest in peace but the struggle continues for the rest of us still living. Phonetically "Afrika/Africa" sounds very European to me, and is believed to have Roman imperial origins, spelling it with a "k" instead of "c" doesn't make it any less European than it is. The additional "h" in Dhlamini serves to soften the pronunciation in the Swazi language as opposed to a harder pronunciation of Dlamini in the Zulu language. In Afrikaans, Africa is spelled with a "k" and pronounced differently, so I don't get the obsession with how Africa is spelled in English.

      @sisekoqondazimasasakwe2597 6 лет назад +8

      The significance of Afrika being spelt with a k and not a c is that some South African languages don't even have the letter c, I think Sepedi, Tswana and Sesotho. The linguists will correct me. In the reamaining South African languages that do have c and k, the sound of c and k are not the same and hence the the replacement of c with k. I would have though that this would be obvious to someone with a surname like Nkosi. I'm sure Nkosi and Ncosi aren't pronounced the same in your language as well.

    Such leaders are needed today especially after #FEESMUSTFALL exercise we experienced in the past two weeks in South Africa. What can we do to reclaim such leaders who were true leaders..he once said, "true leadership demands complete subjugation of self, absolute honest... selfless... integrity... fearlessness.... and above all, a consuming true love for ones people" his legacy will live on. We will always salute you Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe at Redikopantsitse Trading & Projects without your contribution, we could not be where we are. SALUTE QHAWE LAMAQHAWE!!!!!

    • @majikelezi9987
      @majikelezi9987 5 лет назад +5

      That Mandela does not come close is wholly incorrect. In his own words, Mandela said that, "The apartheid regime never wanted I and Sobukwe close to each other, and where it would happen that we come close, we would discuss and I believe if Sobukwe lived today, he would have joined African National Congress." Don't compare them please, it is a serious mistake.
