Pregnancy is a huge deal. Nothing added more nuance to my position on abortion than watching my wife go through pregnancy. After experiencing a miscarriage and then watching my wife deal with two pregnancies with varying levels of struggle, and then two challenging deliveries, I really can't imagine adding rhe government into the decision making process after the doctors. There are so many things that can go wrong, harm the women, harm the fetus, put strain on the parents and effect your future child rearing capabilities, and the n we want to add the uncertainty of these abortion bans? It's just crazy. So as a married man and a father, I have a much much different view on abortion than I used to, and I view it as very important. I imagine that's even more salient for most women. What does it matter if the price of gas drops a dollar if you're dead from complications surrounding an ectopic pregnancy?

Because there is no "post birth abortion" as Trump claims. Abortion by definition can only happen before birth. After birth it would be murder and literally nobody is in favor of that.
If there were 100's of pregnant women getting abortions in the 7th 8th and 9th month for convenience then you may have a point but there just isn't. If a woman has intentionally carried a healthy baby to the third trimester there is almost no woman in the world who would terminate that pregnancy.

Are there laws that control a man's body: yes, the draft, drug laws (most drug users are men), DUI laws etc. There are many laws which affect only men or mostly men's use of their bodies. Trump actually denied 99% of the hurricane recovery funds requested by North Carolina back in 2017 after hurricane Matthew's destruction, and delayed for 6-months billions in congressionally-approved aid to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated the island. For Helene, Trump started a gofundme for it except it goes straight to his campaign manager with no transparency about where/how it will be spent (and trump didn't donate to it), he also took credit for truckloads of supplies that had already been delivered before he got involved. All trump did was go into an active disaster zone for a speech and a photo op

Pregnancy is a huge deal. Nothing added more nuance to my position on abortion than watching my wife go through pregnancy. After experiencing a miscarriage and then watching my wife deal with two pregnancies with varying levels of struggle, and then two challenging deliveries, I really can't imagine adding rhe government into the decision making process after the doctors. There are so many things that can go wrong, harm the women, harm the fetus, put strain on the parents and effect your future child rearing capabilities, and the n we want to add the uncertainty of these abortion bans? It's just crazy.
So as a married man and a father, I have a much much different view on abortion than I used to, and I view it as very important. I imagine that's even more salient for most women. What does it matter if the price of gas drops a dollar if you're dead from complications surrounding an ectopic pregnancy?

Because there is no "post birth abortion" as Trump claims. Abortion by definition can only happen before birth. After birth it would be murder and literally nobody is in favor of that.
Any restrictions would directly contradict "her body, her choice."
If there were 100's of pregnant women getting abortions in the 7th 8th and 9th month for convenience then you may have a point but there just isn't.
If a woman has intentionally carried a healthy baby to the third trimester there is almost no woman in the world who would terminate that pregnancy.
