So pleased you got your bike back. I would keep it. Market not great for second hand bikes right now. I have a Transalp and an RE Himalayan. Cheap bike, OK, but I can't resign myself to selling it for, basically half price. Hold on to it. Time will dictate! Take care 😊
Hi Jo, just found your channel & sent you a sub, glad you got your bike back mate, hope the thieves got prosecuted & yeah theft is a constant concern for me here in Sweden as well, as I don't have a garage, So she's on the street, So far over 2 seasons nothings happened & I have 4 separate locks on it every night, including a 120db alarm, but I curtain flap every night watching her, Cheers & rude safe
If you can afford to keep it. Keep it. Hell of a good bike for long tours. Can't believe it took so long to get back. Only thing I can say though as you probably know the weather has been terrible this year and you've not missed a great bike season. Keep the videos coming I liked your NC 500 series
Glad you've got your bike back!! Keep the KTM, the company will not fail as it's "too big", they're just going through some restructuring and all will be good.
That Litelock does make the bike safer just not safe enough. They just lift them and into a van. Have to be chained to a fixed object and then they still go.. ps I rarely trade anything in. A private sale is always the way to go for maximum value.
I’m not sure a private sell is going to be possible with the news of KTM and it being the winter here. We will see though it is on auto trader but getting no bites yet.
@@freedom-machines It is the wrong time of year to sell anything motorcycle related not just KTM.. ps Nice to see my local Cheshire roads in action. Hope you get sorted soon. All the best
It’s quite simple: if you want a new bike, get it even if that means px-ing the 890 for 4.5k: anyway that’s the correct value in the current climate, I’ve been through it. selling privately you might get a little bit more, or perhaps even be unable to sell with all the bad publicity surrounding ktm at the moment. Yet, If you can keep it and start your collection of 10, do it, don’t px it. (Myself, I’ve decided I’ll never willingly sell a motorbike again.😅)
If you have the space, keep it. I've got the X1lock fits over the front wheel rim on the Tiger 9RP. I also carry an abus noose chain that I use in conjunction with the X1 if there's a suitable way to secure it to a fixed pole etc.
Pleased you got your bike back.Ive had 5 KTMs but truthfully im pleased i do t have one at the moment.I.KTM are trying to tell us customers will not lose out i dont believe that for a minute but i hope im wrong for my fellow bikers sake.
Hi Joe, I think I'd keep it to be honest, great bike - it's had a lot of work done - could possibly do with some hard luggage in my humble opinion Take care out there, ride safe. Regards, SteveD (Isle of Wight)
Id definitely keep the KTM it's a tool for a totally different job than the royal Enfield and for tours the Enfield will do it but nowhere near as well as the KTM.
@freedom-machines 🤣🤣 I get it. What i meant was when people look to buy the Ktm, it will come back with stolen and recovered, which will lower the value, or at least put people off buying.
If you are moving to London, save yourself the grief of having it stolen again. You won’t retrieve it in London as no one is remotely interested in motorcycle thefts especially the MET Police. Trackers won’t help either. Sell it and enjoy the money on something else. It’s a sad state of affairs when this is the type of decision we, as bikers, are having to make.
Hope you have somewhere "inside" to park the bike in London. If not "IT WILL" get nicked sooner or later, litelok or not. Sorry to say but true. I wouldn't leave my bike out of sight in London for 2 minutes.
Keep it, why let a dealer get the bike for a cheap price when they wouldn’t do it for you, just see you as a pound sign, what bike in comparison too yours could you get for £4500, it would be half the bike you already own..
Out of interest, did the theft and police involvement make this bike registered as CAT N? Heard other RUclipsrs say don't put a tracker on your bike unless it's got sentimental value. As even if they steal it and you recover it with police help in 10 minutes, it now a CAT N and worth so much less that your insurance does not cover. Better off never seeing it again and getting a pay out on insurance. Just interested?
Stop listening to youtubers. Cat N doesn't have anything to do with being stolen, it means it has none structural damage but is uneconomical to repair. Categories are only assigned after assessment of any damage so if your bike is missing how can it be categorised?. If your vehicle gets a cat N it gets written off and you get paid out, if it comes back and can be repaired then it will be, no category will be assigned to your vehicle the same as any other vehicle that gets repaired through insurance. Having no tracker means the thieves got away with your property. This fella stopped them having his bike away. It costs either way once you become a victim of crime but if you can stop the thieves profiting then surely that is a win.
Keep it no brainer it’s worth more to you at any trade in value. I have put my name down for a 650 bear when it lands in Australia I paid $9000 for my cb500x been offered $5000 so lost $4000 over 4 years but when the bear lands in Australia I suspect they will offer less for my Honda and if they do I will keep as a winter hack ( winter in Australia is mild) should man up sell my car. But maintaining cars, bikes, caravan it gets costly with registration, insurance etc. Ridiculous delay in getting your bike back totally unaccountable. Insurance delay ? Parts delay ? My wife has a bike also but don’t ride as often as me.
Yeah you’re right it gets very expensive with the maintenance it’s a rock and a hard place really. I should probably stop buying and selling bikes every year haha
I'd keep the bike unless the £4/5k is make or break for you. It's not worth paying for someone else to have a bargain subsidised by you. And moving to London increases the probability of theft, so keep using the KTM IMHO.
2:10 oh dear Manchester to London kinda out of the frying pan and into the fire 😮

Awesome ride. Best ever to get your bike back.

London is one of the few places motorbike thefts have gone up. Try not to leave it out at night mate. The Litelok are great though 👍

Thanks mate, that’s why I’m thinking of keeping it. I really fancy some European road trips next year.
Glad your back on the bike, remember always put a reminder that you have a disc lock fitted🙃
Thanks Gerry
Another great video 👏

Great to see you back on the bike, hope the move to London goes ok.
Thanks mate 🙌

I wish I had a garage for 2 bikes mate, but sadly don’t, go with your heart. Good luck on the move .keep the videos coming .
Thanks 👍

Thanks Chris, I’m going to check out an additional device as well 👍🏻

I understand that mate, thanks for the view and comment 👍🏻
Cant it just be lifted into the back of a van very quickly even with the light lock fitted 🤷♂️
Keep it as the sum of the parts is greater than anything from RE
That’s the plan I reckon
Yes for 4500 I would keep it 👍
I’ve had two bikes on the road for a few years and to be honest you only need one.
I with you on that one, I can never decide which bike to ride 😅
Hi Joe,
I think I'd keep it to be honest, great bike - it's had a lot of work done - could possibly do with some hard luggage in my humble opinion

Thanks Steve 👍🏻

Great point!
Keep it
Keep it if you can afford to mate .
I’ve got the same, I’d keep it definitely great bike
I think you’re right
Did you get your quotes for a stolen and recovered ? I would keep it and get a scooter for the city
A scooter, I’d rather walk Matt 😂. The insurance wouldn’t cover it so I just had to pay for it.
@freedom-machines 🤣🤣 I get it. What i meant was when people look to buy the Ktm, it will come back with stolen and recovered, which will lower the value, or at least put people off buying.
Keep the KTM you’d regret letting it go for that price 👍
I think you're right.

I have underground parking where I live but it’s parking it up to commute that will be the test
Keep it, why let a dealer get the bike for a cheap price when they wouldn’t do it for you, just see you as a pound sign, what bike in comparison too yours could you get for £4500, it would be half the bike you already own..
Very true, thanks for watching

I didn’t go through the insurance I just paid for the repairs myself. The police involvement didn’t change the bikes status.
@freedom-machines that's good know. I have a tracker on my bike and wondered about the cat N stuff. Thanks for letting me know 👍
Stop listening to youtubers. Cat N doesn't have anything to do with being stolen, it means it has none structural damage but is uneconomical to repair.
