Why do they ride the singlefins the same way they would ride a modern shortboard? Looks silly and forced

I had that exact conversation with a guy at the comp. "Most" are riding them like thrusters & that is what scores as the judges class it as "ripping" & I do get that. A lot are riding really short boards too, BUT --> I'd like to see a section of the comp where say the boards have to be over 6'6'' & they ride them with old school style like they did back in the 70's 👍
